Trudging Through the Desert [MOD]

Sand. Sand everywhere. Sand as far as the eye can see. In her bag, in her clothes, in her hat, in her boots (why me), in her hair. The scientist-wannabe trudged through the dunes, water bottle in one hand, Archimedes' Pokeball in another.

She tripped on a rock and fell face-flat on the dunes. Then she raised her head and spat out a mouthful of crushed quartz, silica and pleh. While she can easily tolerate the heat, the desert at noon was ridiculously hot.

Why did C.B. go here again?

Oh, right. Finding Pokemon for her team. After that painfully one-sided battle between her and that Bolt student, Hermes immediately went all woodpecker on her head once healed. Not wanting a repeat of that embarrassing performance, she decided to find someone to add to her roster.

C.B. took a gulp of water and wiped the sweat off her brow. Suddenly, she found herself unable to move her legs. She looked around and found herself sliding into a small sand pit, then down and saw her boots were sinking to the sand. Damnit. In the middle of the depression were the massive jaws of a Trapinch. Arena Trap then. She tossed out the Pokeball in her hand.

"Archimedes!"

The Porygon obliged and began with a Tri-Attack. The Trapinch took the brunt of the attack and returned fire with a Rock Slide. A fist-sized rock impacted to Archimedes' side and ricocheted off, missing C.B. by half a foot. The Porygon narrowed his eyes. He retaliated with a more violent than usual tackle, but it made no effect to his opponent, who stomped on the ground with enough force to knock the Trainer to her rear, spilling the contents of her bag all over the ground.

While C.B. was mostly unharmed, Archimedes, on the other hand, was barely hanging on. She grabbed the first thing she touched - an empty Academy Ball - threw it as hard as she could to the Trapinch.
