With a shiver, Tristan looked around the freezing area of the mountains. It was cold, and white, and there were caves scattered all over the mountains. In other words, it was pretty cool. Sadly, it was also plenty cold and Tristan didn't have a good amount of insulation against it. He came up with an idea, though.
He pressed a button on his pokeball. Cyndaquil appeared in a flash of light, and Tristan picked him up and held him tight. "Here, let's check this place out," the trainer said to the Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil was serving to keep Tristan warm, but that wasn't the only reason he was out.
Tristan had been wanted to explore with Cyndaquil for a while.

Tristan, still hugging his Cyndaquil tightly, wandered around the mountain area before delving into one of the caves. He saw a gorgeous pool of icy water and stood transfixed. Cyndaquil seemed taken by its beauty as well, but Tristan couldn't be sure. He stood there for a few minutes, before finally turning.
As he turned, though, he saw something watching him. A Spheal sat there, watching him and Cyndaquil. Taking a few steps back, Tristan saw the Spheal following him. He took another step backwards before turning and running. There was no way that Cyndaquil was going to deal with that thing.

Tristan quickly exited the caves with Cyndaquil in his arms. Once out, he saw a different pokemon watching him. The pokemon, resembling a giant snowflake, seemed to start charging up something upon seeing Cyndaquil. Tristan saw that there was no way to get out of this fight, so he set Cyndaquil down.
"Cyndaquil," Tristan said to his pokemon. "Use Eruption." The fire type shot a large column of fire at the snowflake, which seemed to sway before falling down unconscious. "Well... That was almost too easy, huh?" The Cyndaquil cried out in agreement, which prompted a laugh from Tristan. "Oh well. Time to head home, buddy."
