Clash of Wills (v.s. Meili)

She seemed to be a sucker for pokemon battles. Tanya wondered how many times she had been in this arena. This place was becoming so familiar to her. Many battles had taken place here. Her first, the one with the highest stakes, the one where she snapped herself out of a funk. Throughout all of her battles, a common factor was that she had made friends by the end. Well, be more friendly in some cases.

This time, the format was a 3v3 battle. Wondering who her opponent was, Tanya stretched her body out, working out the kinks and making sure she was mentally prepared for the battle. She was still training. After all, her pokemon still had so much potential waiting inside them. While she did have a somewhat odd team, she knew she would find a way to make it all work out.

Once she had finished stretching, she crossed her arms and looked at the other side of the arena, waiting for her opponent to arrive.

Team: Shinx, Munna, Pichu

Meili once more walked into the arena. She was going to participate in another battle and hopefully...things will go slightly more smoothly. However, maybe the fact that she has had a rough time with battles is a sign. That she was going to have crawl her way up to the top. She looked at her opponent, a girl from the wave dorm with long black hair like herself. Only she chooses it to tie back where as Meili just placed a cap on top of hers.

"Let us begin." Meili reached for one of the pokeballs attached to her belt. The format was a three on three battle. She might as well take the opportunity to test out her new Pokemon and get in some battle practice in. The girl is wave dorm judging by her uniform...none the less she might have Pokemon that would protect her water types. It's risky but she thinks she should keep Pen ready. "Come on Ju!" Meili threw her Academyball up in the air and out came the praying mantis. It let out a yawn and a stretch before looking over at his opponent.

Team: Croagunk (Du), Scyther(Ju), Charmander(Pen)

Action: Starting off with Ju, waiting for first move

Looking at her opponent, she could tell from her uniform that she came from Lava Dorm. She wondered if she should've brought Dani with her, but that probably would be overkill. In any case, she wanted to do some training with her weaker pokemon first. She knew they could grow stronger after all.

Sending out Scyther, Tanya paused for a moment. Moving her right hand over her pokeballs, she considered which starting pokemon she should use. After a moment, her hand lingered over the one she wanted to start with. Smirking to her opponent, she held the pokeball in her hand.

"Let's have an epic battle." Tanya said, making sure she was loud enough for her opponent to hear. She wondered if she was going to use her starter as well. It could turn out to be a lot of fun.

"Christina, let's go! Rush in with a Volt Tackle!" Tanya shouted, throwing her pokeball high into the air. Once Christina entered the field, she started jumping around in excitement, bits of electricity flying off her face as she joyfully entered the battlefield.

Pichu turned to look at the Scyther and started to charge up electricity, to the point where blots were shooting out of her cheeks and she was covered in a brilliant yellow glow. From there, Christina charged towards the Scyther and smashed into him, jumping at the last moment to make most of the impact. As soon as the attack finished, she bounced and rolled backwards, taking recoil damage. Tanya couldn't help but think that throughout the entire time, the Pichu was pretty adorable.

Action: Christina used Volt Tackle.

"Let's have an epic battle. Ju got ready and Meili smiled in response. This Scyther has already proven how powerful it was when she encountered it in the forest. This time around she can test that power. "Christina, let's go! Rush in with a Volt Tackle!" The girl sent out a Pichu. Soon the tiny mouse's body was surging with electricity and she blasted off towards Ju. The mantis raised his blades to defend against the attack but the moment the strike made impact Ju's body was struck with tons of electricity and slammed into the wall by the force.

"W-what..." Meili turned over to see Ju weakly walking over. It was in no fighting condition. Whatever that attack was, it was absurd. She looked over at the Pichu. It did seem to have suffered from the recoil of the impact though. Looks like she was fighting this with just two Pokemon. "J-Ju...return." Meili reluctantly returned her Scyther and then reached for Pen's pokeball. She threw the Charmander out right away.

"Let's catch up! Pen use Flamethrower!!" With the recoil damage, this should be one or two shots...hopefully.

Action: Pen uses Flamethrower!

It seemed that her opponent was taken by surprise by the attack. Tanya confidently smirked in her general direction as she went over to check on the knocked out Scyther. A part of her wondered if she did a bit of overkill, then again, she wasn't going to go easy on her opponent. If used any other attack, she doubted that she would've been able to knock Scyther out.

Christina, seeing that she defeated a pokemon, jumped joyfully into the air and let out a happy cry. It seemed so proud of itself. It made the next moment, where the trainer's Charmander came out and incinerated her a little sad as she buckled from the attack and fell unconscious.

"Nice job Christina." Tanya said, returning her to her pokeball. She thought for a moment on which pokemon to use next. Drifting her hand over to the one that she had decided to use, Tanya thought of an interesting strategy she could try.

"Nicholas! Come on out and use Swagger!" Tanya commanded, throwing her pokeball high into the air. Nicholas came out, shaking his body and letting out a faint cry. Once it came out, he started to swagger around the battlefield, confidently acting like he owned the place before he turned around and shook his butt at the opposing Charmander. 

Action: Knocked out Christina switched for Nicholas. Nicholas used Swagger.

Meili was trying her best to remain dignified as her opponent began to celebrate. As much as Meili hates it, she really can't say much against it. She knocked out a decently powerful wild Pokemon in one risky shot. However, likewise, Meili tried her best to contain her excitement when she knocked out the opposing Pichu. A bit hypocritical? Well, at the moment, Meili didn't care.

"Nice job Christina." With that, they are now even. "Nicholas! Come on out and use Swagger!" She threw her Pokeball in the air and sent out a Shinx. The little Shinx wagged his butt over at Pen...which irritated him.

"Oi Pen!" The Charmander wasn't exactly in the mood to listen. "Calm down and use Flamethrower!" Meili's pokedex beeped for a moment and she took it out. It seems the Charmander was confused by the attack. She would switch over to Du, but was it a good idea? The Shinx would just confuse her too...

Action: Pen used Flamethrower!

The confusion worked like a charm. Tanya couldn't help but feel confident in herself when Nicholas managed to succeed in confusing his target. The battle was pretty much in her favor and she was going to ride the momentum while she still could. While it was hard, Tanya tried her best not to assume that she had won. That could lead to a surprising upset, something that she was not up for in this match.

Watching the Charmander hit itself in confusion, Tanya felt elated. She didn't want to say anything to jinx it, but she was pretty sure she had a good chance on winning this. Unless the next pokemon to come out was a steel type or something, she felt pretty secure in her chances of winning. If it was a steel type though, that could be a struggle.

"Chomp down on your foe with Thunder Fang!" Tanya ordered Nicholas, beaming confidently at her opponent as the battle progressed. Nicholas started to run towards the Charmander, his mouth charging up with electrical energy that was generated by his fur. Once he was in range, he jumped and opened up his mouth, enclosing them around the Charmander and crunching down on his foe.

Pen slapped himself in the face. This was going well. Already Meili is having second thoughts and in a battle that was not good. She needed to focus. Find some way to squeeze out of this. Of course, her opponent was obviously not going to allow her the time to ponder the matter.

"Chomp down on your foe with Thunder Fang!" The blue cub leaped at Pen and then bit down on it, since its body was surging with elecricity, no words really needed to be said about the pain Pen is feeling right now. The Charmander in its confusion was trying its best to shake it off but without a clear mind it wasn't sure how to go about that.

"Try to use Flamethrower!" She wasn't sure if Pen heard the command but she has to at least try again.

Action: Pen used Flamethrower!

Tanya was beginning to feel somewhat bad for the trainer. She was having a really bad battle. Even after being attacked by Nicholas, the Charmander hit himself once again. The way he looked, he doubted that he was going to stay up for long. While she did feel bad, she couldn't help but feel confident about how the battle had gone so far.

Once Nicholas had finished biting his foe, he strutted back to his place and let out a cute huff. Proud of how he was doing, he looked to his trainer for approval. When her trainer nodded, the Shinx let out a happy cry and wagged his tail.

"Let's do this. Discharge!" Tanya shouted, slashing her hand across the air and then pointing at the girl with the same hand. She couldn't help but feel confident now. This battle was going so well for her and a sense of elation was a given.

Nicholas started shaking his fur, generating electricity. Letting out a loud cry, Nicholas discharged a ton of electricity that went flying around the battlefield. Judging from the beating the Charmander took in the battle, she reckoned that this would put the final nail in the coffin for this pokemon.

Action: Nicholas used Discharge

Apparently the proper response to being bitten and shocked was slapping yourself. Meili sure would love to do that right now but she didn't want her opponent to consider her crazy. However, this meant that Pen wasn't going to last long at this point.

"Let's do this. Discharge!" The lion began to shake itself. There was no way Pen can dodge out of this. Come on Pen! However, her hopes were dashed. The Shinx started to unleash a large surge of electricity out. Being a large field of electricity, Meili wasn't sure how the Charmander could've dodged it. It wasn't like he could stand on his tail or something. Meili winced as he heard Pen getting shocked. The Charmander collapsed. Meili looked at the Charmander before silently returning him.

"Du!" Meili threw out her Croagunk. "Use Sucker Punch!" Meili wasn't going to hesitate or wait it out. She needed to blast her opponent away with full force right away. Besides if her opponent gets any ideas...

Action: Du uses Sucker Punch!

Tanya felt super confident when she managed to knock out the Charmander. She didn't want to get too overconfident, but she knew she had a really good chance of winning the match. After all, it was her opponent's one pokemon to her two pokemon. The two pokemon she used weren't even the trump card she had. She knew Daniella was capable of a lot, so she had confidence that this battle was a done deal.

That confidence only grew when she sent out a Croagunk. Tanya smirked brilliantly at her opponent, as if trying to play mind games with her. This was a done deal. She doubted that there was any way for her opponent to win now. Even though Nicholas was knocked back by the attack, he still managed to push himself off, looking pretty angrily at the Croagunk.

"We've got this in the bag. Show them your Swagger." Tanya called out matter-of-factly, crossing her arms and giving a cheshire grin to her opponent. It was rare for a battle to go so well for her. She was probably being mean, but she couldn't help but get caught up in the mood of the battle.

Nicholas began to walk around the battlefield, swishing his tail back and forth as he went. Turning his back against the Croagunk, he started waving his butt again in the Croagunk's face, trying to enrage the pokemon to the point of confusion. Even if Swagger didn't hit, she still had confidence that she would win.

Action: Nicholas used Swagger.

It took every bit of effort stored within Meili's body not to just run over and punch her smirking opponent. Dammit, it wasn't supposed to be this way! Meili still couldn't believe the disaster that happened with Pen. Pen could only get in one decent attack before going down...was it going to be the same with Du? No, she had to have confidence in her orders.

"We've got this in the bag. Show them your Swagger." Meili bit the bottom of her lip to the point of drawing a tiny bit of blood to avoid yelling out an very colorful four letter word. Not only was that frustrating attack being used again, but better yet it was a successful hit. Du's movements were awkward and could only be described as angry as her trainer.

"Du! Try Sucker Punch now, oi!!"

Action: Du used Sucker Punch!

Tanya managed to get the confusion to work on the Croagunk. Granted, that was not really a crucial part of her plan. She just thought it'd be fun. Plus, she wanted to see how long she could keep Nicholas in for the battle. She also noticed how angry her trainer was getting. While she did hope it would be a little longer, it seemed that things weren't going to go that way for her. The added boost to the Croagunk's attack made the Sucker Punch really hurt and Nicholas got knocked back, trying to push himself up before falling back down again, unconscious.

"Well, this has been fun." Tanya called out, returning Nicholas to his pokeball. She moved her hand over to Daniella's pokeball and held it in her hand. "Unfortunately for you, I think it's time we finish this off. Daniella, attack the Croagunk with Psychic!"

Flinging her ball into the air, Daniella was released at the the top of it. Looking down on the battlefield, Daniella started to glow pink as she began using her psychic powers. Lifting up the Croagunk, she threw her head down, causing the Croagunk to smash into the floor. She didn't expect the Croagunk to survive. Crossing her arms, she smirked at her opponent, letting the confidence she felt in battle overflow.

Meili can't help but to place a smile on her face as soon as she sees that her attack command did go through. Du dashed across the field and slammed her fist into the face of the Shinx's. The fact that it was an instant knock out was better. Things actually seem to be going well. Maybe she can even turn this whole bad mess around!

"Well, this has been fun." Her opponent said. "Unfortunately for you, I think it's time we finish this off. Daniella, attack the Croagunk with Psychic!" The color in Meili's face was lost. She watched her opponent send out what she could only be described as a pink psychic floating tapir...and using its powers to smash Du into the ground. It was an instant defeat. No way for the Croagunk to endure especially given its confused state.

Meili collapsed on her knees. The match was over. Even if was 1-0, it was clear that her opponent was dominating for most of it. Meili couldn't even reach for her unconcious Pokemon's pokeball. All she could do is stare at her defeated Croagunk in shock.

That probably was a bit too much overkill. The match was a success in her direction, which was pretty awesome. She probably put way too much gusto into her confidence as her opponent looked positively mortified by the events that had occurred. In fact, she just fell to the floor. Honestly, it was hard not to feel bad for her.

Moving her way across the battlefield, she picked up the Croagunk and carried it towards the girl, Daniella floating behind her casually. "Are you ok?" Tanya asked in a concerned voice, crouching down to the girl's level and putting the Croagunk on the floor next to her. Tanya looked concerned as she tried to find ways to console the girl who had been her opponent moments ago.

"My name is Tanya. Sorry if I went a bit overboard with my actions. I tend to get way into the emotions that I'm feeling. I didn't mean to hurt you if I did." She didn't really know what else to say, putting a comforting hand on her opponent's shoulder.
