Astrid had found the place by accident while testing out her new HM moves. An island that O'Batahan, for whatever reason, couldn't fly to. Whenever he got close, some mysterious force would push them away. Not to be deterred by mysterious forces, however, Astrid came back while being pulled by her Skrelp, Venalgue. She wasn't sure what she'd find here, although when mysterious forces were involved, psychic types usually were too. Maybe she could catch Xanadu a new friend! Or maybe something weirder. Were there any more psychic robots, like Quadraxis?

Speaking of which, it was best to have his protection while exploring dangerous unknown territory. So she called out the now very large quadripedal robot, then climbed up one of its legs to sit on top of it. Then, together they set off onto the island.

Astrid wasn't scared of a damned thing, going deeper into the island. She was absolutely certain of that. Someone riding a Metagross had absolutely no room to be scared of anything less, after all. But, that immutable fact was put to the test pretty quickly as something approaching left her feeling really uneasy. She urged for Quadraxis to stop, then listening carefully once it had gone quiet enough. From around a rocky outcrop, she spotted a sarcophagus, a literal floating sarcophagus minding its own business up ahead. It didn't seem to have noticed Astrid and, after thinking it over for a bit, she decided that it was better for it to stay that way.

So she decided to lie back on Quadraxis for a bit and wait for it to move on.

The next thing Astrid saw on her exploration was a dog. A...kind of unpleasant-looking dog with curled horns and a rib pattern on its back. Oh, and a spade tail. Obvious doom dog. She watched it for a moment, as it stared back at her and the giant robot she was riding. Growling. Then, Quadraxis raised one of its legs and pulled it back to punch...and the dog ran off.

Well, that was convenient.

"I think there was a saying about that," Astrid said, watching the hellhound's retreat. "Can't remember what it was, though. Oh well. Onward, I guess."

After awhile of wandering, Astrid ran across another wandering Pokemon. Or...floating, rather. She stopped Quadraxis's progress as she caught sight of the green floating thing, which quickly turned out to be...exactly that. A green floating thing, consisting of a nucleus and gelatinous outer shell. "Duosion, right?" Astrid asked, consulting her Pokedex. "Might as well. Magnate, you're up." Astrid threw out a pokeball, calling out her Magneton. "Let's go! Signal Beam!" The trio of magnetic bits spun on an invisible central axis, creating a glowing light in between their bodies. A multicolored beam shot out from that central light, striking the Duosion for effective damage.

Which...it then healed off. "Oh come on," Astrid said. "Signal Beam again!" Magnate fired off another beam as directed, hitting it again. Green goop scattered everywhere as the Duosion took the hit and was now clearly in critical condition. Even if it recovered, Astrid reasoned that Magnate was doing enough damage to finish it off. But no, it instead opted for a blast of raw psychic energy. It struck the Magneton directly, but did little to penetrate the metal shell of its bits. "Signal Beam, one more time!" Astrid called. After another multicolored blast, the Duosion fell to the ground, inert. Astrid moved to the edge of Quadraxis's head, giving her a clear shot to throw an Academy Ball and hopefully catch it.
