Amanda inspected the ice with some degree of curiosity, tapping the hard structure before her with her knuckles. It seemed solid enough, and despite her warm hand touching it, none of the frozen water seemed to melt. Yet it was unmistakably ice!

Frowning, the girl pushed herself to her feet, stepping a few feet backwards to inspect the statue, for that is what it was. Before the young Kalosian was erected a large Alakazam, created from frozen water yet completely impervious to any sort of damage or destruction. To her, this only illustrated the sheer power of the Pokemon living on this island. It rather scared her.

Amanda alone was not the only one perturbed by the sight, behind her: Fisto and Shabboneau stood guard against any enemies. This was likely the most dangerous area any of the three had been to during their time at the island, and yet it was imperative they be here, if only they knew why. As their trainer turned and moved towards them, they once more looked at her questioningly: wishing to know why she would go to such a place. They had asked this of their trainer before, and unlike the previous quiet glances, Amanda responded.

''Because I am weak.''

Both Pokemon tilted their heads, confused. Amanda merely sighed and smiled sadly in response. ''I have not been a good trainer to you, the battle at Mavro was proof of that...''

She looked down thoughtfully, crossing her arms. ''...But that's no reason for me to give up! I've spoken with Tanya to meet me here, I'm hoping that some training against the powerhouses of this Island will do us all good!'' she smiled reasurringly, hiding her own doubts. Her team was hardly fit to combat anything as powerful as what could keep the island isolated from any attempts of air-travel. Indeed, even surfing through the cold water had been draining on her Pokemon. Nonetheless, she had made her mind to meet with her fellow Wave-Dormer and see if she could not become more powerful from the experience!

Once again, Tanya headed towards Dark Moon Isle, clinging tightly onto Dani as she ferried her across the waters. While she was tempted to come with Nicholai, the sheer power of Gundamu made her realize that the pokemon here were not something she should try messing with. It was for that reason that she came with her full power team. In any case, it was a good time to practice for the tournament as well.

While it was nice for her to train, one of the main reasons that Tanya came was because of Amanda. She was the one that invited her over in the first place. Amanda's new behavior had not escaped her. She had a feeling that it was something to do with the Marvo City attack. Since she were in a different group, Tanya didn't know how the event went for Amanda, but judging from the cracked mask of the Duskull, she doubted that the battle went well for her.

Once Tanya got to the island, she returned Dani to her pokeball. She didn't really know what to expect here, except that the pokemon were powerful. She knew better than to just have pokemon out in situations like this. Thinking about the battle in the city, Tanya realized that she probably should attempt to be more careful. Seeing people sending out their full rosters and then getting systematically crushed by the attacks was not something she wanted to have to deal with.

Hearing Amanda's voice, Tanya stopped. Making herself hidden, she listened as Amanda talked to her pokemon. She was tempted to interfere with the event, but Tanya decided not to. After all, it was nice to hear another person's motivations. She stayed silent, taking in everything that Amanda had to say. As not to arouse suspicion, she waited for a few moments before entering the scene.

"Hey there Amanda!" Tanya called out, waving at her friend. Noticing that her Munchlax had evolved as well, Tanya nonetheless walked up towards the girl, looking up at the Alakazam statue. "That's a pretty impressive structure. I wonder why the pokemon here like built this thing. I guess it's a testament to their power and intelligence."

She gave an unassuming smile at Amanda, not letting her know that she heard her say anything. If she wanted to tell her, she would. No point bugging her about it. In any case though, Tanya looked around the area before thinking up a conversation starter. "You gonna take part in the tournament?" Tanya inquired, starting to walk deeper into the island.

Pokemon Team: Dani the Dragalge, Daniel the Lopunny, Christopher the Serperior, Christian the Rapidash, Daniella the Musharna and Gundamu the Golurk.

Searching for (in no particular order): Deino line, Gallade line, Absol.

Amanda nodded, flicking her wrist to release her Marshtomp as they walked. If they would run into any Pokemon, she felt he might come in handy where Fisto or Shabboneau might not, it paid to be prepared.


''I was considering it, actually...'' she smiled. Rubbing her damaged palms as she thought about what Tanya had asked. She knew there were two branches to the tournament, although she doubted that the trainers competent enough to fight in the advanced segment would give her much room to breathe. She would like be destroyed, although perhaps the light branch could be easier for her.


''Only the beginner branch, though...'' Amanda continued, ''How about you?''


As she awaited an answer, twin flickers of movement passed through a nearby brush: noticed not simply by Amanda but by her Pokemon as well. Her Marshtomp sprang into action, lunging into action towards one of them. A loud thud resonated through the area, as Marshtomp and the moving target: a Kirlia, fell back into view. The other, an Absol dropping in from the other side.


Amanda frowned, withdrawing her Pokedex as she gestured towards Tanya to back off. ''I'll take this one, you take the Absol!'' she ordered, flicking through her battle menu.


Furiously: the Kirlia screeched at it's attacker for his slamming into her, eyes glowing purple as she drew upon her psychic abilities, ripping the leaves off the bushes and sending them flying towards the Marshtomp. Narrowly, Amanda barely avoided being hit herself by rolling out of the way, her Pokemon: the target, was less lucky. Howling in pain as the augmented leaves sliced through him: leaving visible bloody cuts.


Amanda stifled a gasp, forcing herself to stay composed as she studied the numbers. The attack hit hard but so had the pre-emptive lunge from Muddy. As her other two Pokemon tried to enter the battle, wishing to aid their friend. Amanda held up an arm, warning the two to back off.

''Muddy, use Earthquake!'' she commanded.


A pain-filled anger in his eyes: the Marshtomp roared as he slammed his leg into the ground, sending a shockwave of breaking rock and dust towards the Kirlia. The Psychic type tried to leap only to be slammed by the rocks, releasing a cry of pain as the force overwhelmed her. Seeing an opportunity, Amanda threw a Pokeball at the downed Pokemon.

"I'm totally going for the Expert's Tournament." Tanya announced confidently, keeping an eye on her surroundings and her hands close to her pokeballs. "I don't think I can, but it would be coolto enter the Beginner's tournament. I do have some pokemon I could use for it. It could be fun." The team was probably going to be horribly unbalanced for that tournament, it still could be fun though. Then again, a part of her wanted to focus on the team she had made for the Expert's as she did invest a lot of money into fine-tuning their movesets.

Noticing the bush move, Tanya instinctively jumped backwards, her hands instantly moving towards their pokeballs. Tanya watched as the Marshtomp jumped into action, revealing a Kirlia and Absol. "Got it!" Tanya called out, getting out one of her pokeballs and grinning. Tanya knew that Absol was a pretty awesome pokemon. While she wasn't actively looking for any pokemon, she would be really happy adding the Absol to her repertoire.

Gundamu! Smash the Absol with Hammer Arm!" Tanya shouted, releasing Gundamu from his pokeball while holding her right arm up in the air. When Gundamu appeared on the field, he was already shooting towards his enemy, propelling himself with jets as he put his arm into the air. When he brought it down to attack the Absol, Tanya did the same thing, mimicking his movements as the attack heavily damaged the Absol.

The disaster pokemon got knocked back by the attack, skidding backwards and gritting her teeth due to the intensity of the attack. She still stood however and was ready to retaliate, the sickle on her head glowing purple as the Absol slashed Gundamu with her adornment. When Gundamu landed on the ground, the power behind it caused him to physically step backwards, the lights starting to flicker about as the attack obviously did quite a lot of damage.

"Finish off the Absol with Drain Punch!" Tanya ordered, throwing her head over towards how Amanda was doing. While it looked like her Marshtomp had been badly hurt by the attack, the battle was still in her favor. Quickly turning back towards her battle, she watched as Gundamu's hand was glowing a bright green color. He then punched the Absol hard. Though she tried to keep standing, the sheer power of the attacks caused her to buckle and eventually fall down to the floor, losing all the energy that she had.

Taking her opportunity, Tanya got one of her academy balls and threw it at the Absol. Turning to look at Amanda, it seemed that she was able to wrap up her battle as well. While the battle was pretty intense, it seemed that the two of them were able to fend off the opposing pokemon's threats for now.
