He wasn't actually in the mood for this, but he knew he had to do it. He needed a team, he needed to train, he couldn't let some stupid mistake stop him doing what had to be done. So here he was, climbing Mount Magmadyne looking for another Pokemon. He wasn't even sure what he was looking for, and he wasn't even sure what was in this area specifically. Probably rock... He thought to himself, considering that was all what the area seemed to have. He didn't mind it if he came across a rock type, though he had hopes in seeing something else. He decided to, again, not release his Pokemon until he actually saw something. He didn't want to have a Pokemon out only for him to return it back into its ball to replace it. So he trekked on.

As he walked, out popped a Vulpix seemingly out of nowhere. It stared at him, just simply stared at him, and he had no idea how to respond. He took a step back, and it took a step forward. He nervously rubbed the back of his neck, then side stepped to which it followed suit. 'What did it want?' He wondered. This was a perfect opportunity to get the fire type he was looking for, but he really didn't want to just attack it out of the blue, especially considering it didn't seem hostile.
"Do you want something?" He asked the Vulpix. He wasn't expecting a response, so when it let out a little fire froms its mouth into the air and jumped around he was pretty surprised. He, however, still didn't get what it wanted, did it want to fight? He grabbed his Dratini's Pokeball and saw how it got even more excited. "Oh." He had seconds thoughts in using the Dratini on the Vulpix. Maybe had the Vulpix been incredibly hostile would he have no issues shutting it down quickly, but it just seemed like it wanted a friendly battle. So he put away the Pokeball he had on hand and let out Liara, his Eevee.
"You know, if you lose you're coming with me right?" He said, with a chuckle. He then decided to start it off first, and commanded Liara to do a good ol' Bite. This had caused the Vulpix to flinch, so he decided to take the opening and commanded her to Double Edge, and she took quite a bit of recoil damage. The Vulpix retaliated with a FlameThrower. Liara took it head on and, on her own accord, went in for another Double Edge. Richard was shocked, but couldn't really get mad, since it worked. The Vulpix seemed really weak, like just another attack would knock it out completely, but it wouldn't give up. It opened its mouth and set forth another Flamethrower which got the Eevee pretty weak as well.
"Just one last bite, Liara!" He said, and so she chomped down hard on the Vulpix's back, knocking it out. He tossed an emtpy academy ball he had, and took a note that if he were to continue catching he'd probably need to buy more.
