Name: Lady Angeletta Evangeline Marie Beaumont "Lettie"
Age: Sixteen
Date of Birth: June 20
Birthplace: Camphrier Town, Kalos
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Face Claim: IA - Vocaloid
Appearance:
The one thing you'll notice about Angeletta is her long trailing pale hair that seems to be an almost silvery pinkish hue. Upon closer inspection, however, its closer to a fairytale blonde color. Her hair is what makes those around her stare in comparison to the rest of her appearance. While a majority believe she dyed her hair that particular shade, it's actually her natural hair color, having been lucky enough to inherit it from her grandmother. She possesses a rather stylish yet messy fringe, having her front bangs appear as though they fall over her eyes in random angles in fashionable shags. Her side bangs are slightly longer, falling a little past her chin with several of her other side bangs fanning themselves outward. Once again, this is a natural phenomenon to her unique hairstyle. Her hair is thin, giving a wispy feel to it when you see it, and extremely long, reaching past her butt. She tends to cut it herself whenever it gets too out of hand. The hair itself isn't one length, the strands themselves appearing to grow to whatever length they please. The shorter strands she typically keeps into two loose braids on either side of her, tied with some sort of cute or cool accessory. She also tends to tie her longer hair in a loose manner with a ribbon when she's out and about but keeps it down when she's relaxing (ex. her room). From time to time she wears other hairstyles when she's in the mood to style her hair.
Another noticeable trait would be her eyes. They're almond in shape with thick long lashes and a startling shade of crystal blue. At certain points where the sun hits, her eyes tend to flicker to a green-ish teal hue which often results in her to stare at the mirror in awe in the morning just to watch her eyes change color. She inherited her unique eyes from her grandmother as well. It's often noted in her family on how she's the splitting image of her grandmother during her younger years.
She has a heart-shaped face which many identify as 'pretty', complete with a little button nose and soft pink lips. Her cheeks are still rather rounded which gives a kind of 'cuteness' to her extreme lady-like appearance much to her dismay. Her expressions are usually displayed in sophisticated manners as she was taught not to overdo her emotions. She gives small smiles when she appreciates something, laughs somewhat softly when she finds something funny and smiles politely when she's angered. Most of the time you may catch her with an almost far-off kind of gaze.
In terms of her stature, she stands at a below average height of 5'1" and as such she's often caught in sophisticated heels to add an inch or two to her height. She's very petite, appearing almost fragile which in a way she kind of is though tries her best to not seem that way. She's slim and slender, weighing in at a mere 96 pounds, making her the kind of person that's easy to pick up and place wherever said person wants to put her. This is mostly due to a combination of her being pressured to eating like a bird, family stress and long walks to unknown destinations. She's very pale and prone to sunburn which often results in her wearing sunhats and light colors whenever it's extremely sunny outside. She's in fact often teased that her hair and skin are so pale it's like she's not even there. She begs to differ of course.
Angeletta is known for her fashion. Growing up as a Lady in Kalos and being born into a borderline royal family always has her up to date with the latest trends. She loves fashion with a passion to the point where she is able to design and make her own clothes and model them herself. Other things she loves to design and create include any kind of accessory and Pokemon plushies. She's often caught in fashionable outfits from cute to cool styles and likes a variety of different styles when it comes to her clothes. When not dressed in her outfits, she's caught wearing the school uniform.
Distinguishing Features: --
Height: 5'1"
Character Type: Student
Personality:
[+] Polite. Composed. Witty. Gentle. Considerate. Creative.
[-] Secretive. Naïve. Detached. Passive. Materialistic. Distracted.
Once, twice, three times a lady;; Growing up in a family of borderline nobility, wealth and prestige, etiquette and mannerism was strict and often focused upon during her childhood years. Considering her mother is a Duchess and her father a Duke, Lettie was brought up to be a prim and proper young lady, poised, elegant and refined. She isn’t known to be rambunctious at all in her actions, on the contrary she’s quite soft spoken and polite. Her teachings also taught her to be humble and modest resulting in her to be silent in her achievements instead of openly boasting about them. Respectful and considerate, she’s known to address those around her accordingly, holding a deference by default towards those older than her as well as her peers. It’s very rare of her to talk back to her elders, even if she disagrees with a certain statement, she’ll hold her tongue. Lettie was trained in a way to not show her full emotions, having been told that a lady wears a mask at all times and rarely displays their true emotions to those they converse with. As such, she’s able to take harsh statements with the politest of smiles, conceal her anger and annoyance to a degree and behave quite normally on the outside even though she feels as though her life is falling before her eyes on the inside.
Will you still love me when I’m no longer young&beautiful;; Being a lady, she also needs to look like one along with behaving like one. She’s often pressured to stay slim so she is able to look good in all kinds of outfits which results in her to eating small portions of meals throughout the day and going for long walks afterward. Her family is strict on appearance and as such she’s been trained not to slouch, standing up straight and walking with graceful, fluid motions. Affording the best was something she grew up with, the best up to date trends and fashion, the best up to date technology and devices. As such, Lettie is materialistic and careless when it comes to money. She didn’t need to worry about going poor and it wasn’t something that had crossed her mind, as such she spends quite recklessly and splurges, especially when she’s feeling emotionally distraught. She became quite materialistic due to her wealth, unknowingly comparing her things to those around her. From time to time she admits how she feels more comfortable around ‘things’ in comparison to people considering the fact that she doesn’t need to ‘hide’ her true self from ‘things’. This may be the reason why she may come off as somewhat detached in terms of her relationships with other people.
Brought up a silver spoon mess;; When a person is described as "born with a silver spoon in his mouth," it means that his family is very wealthy, and he is likely to lead a privileged life. She is without a doubt the successor to her family line, the only one currently present and as such carries the entire weight of her family’s wealth and bloodline on her shoulders. She is to marry someone wealthy, create a family and carry on the family line, maintain the wealth they possess as well as the lands, homes and Pokemon they own. Her future is basically decided for her and she’s aware of this despite the fact that she actually wishes to travel around the world and design clothes for trainers, Pokemon and people alike. Due to her upbringing, she has a strong unwillingness to disobey let alone stand up to her parents for snatching away her life not to mention she doesn’t want to disappoint them. The fact that she’s driven to a corner with no way to escape has her quite desperate and often lost in thought. Because of this, she’s easily distracted and spaces out quite often, her thoughts always wandering to the matters she can’t escape from. She’s secretly very edgy and unsure under her composed façade. Her secretive nature has resulted in Lettie to be able to hold a calm and collected air to her. She’s even able to stay fully focused in times of utter chaos, a majority of the time at least.
For with everything you are, you’re just a little girl;; Yes, Lettie is well educated. Yes, she knows how to write, speak and read like a proper lady should. Yes, she had learned about the world of Pokemon through her books. In terms of actual experience in most fields one goes through in life, she’s foolish and naïve due to her privileged life. Most things are decided for her so she doesn’t really have much experience in judgment of character or choosing things for herself. She’s innocent in a sense as she doesn’t understand a variety of things considering she led such a sheltered life. As such, she may say certain things that can come off as idiotic but in her point of view, perfectly normal.
Crayons on the walls, I’ll color on them all;; Hands down, Lettie possesses a creative streak and talent. Learning how to play at least one instrument was a must when it came to her family traditions as such she became quite in tuned with a violin and learned some pieces on the piano. She also came to love singing though it became more of a favorite past time rather than a passion. No, her true passion was designing and creating clothes, accessories and Pokemon plushed dolls. She was able to channel much of her negative emotions through music but her positive emotions and her creativity really shined with her designs and sketches of various different outfits and Pokemon dolls. From this she was able to make and sell her own outfits, accessories and Pokemon plushies to people she knew within Camphrier Town and Lumiose City. She secretly feared to expand her business in case of her parent’s becoming suspicious on what they believed to be a hobby of hers. She's also quite creative with her words, able to form amusing witty remarks whenever the time calls for them, however she strays away from being rude. That isn't lady-like after all.
I hold it all when I hold you;; She’s extremely considerate, gentle and kind to those she meets making her quite an easy person to approach. She tends to think of someone else’s feelings before she reacts upon something and has a knack of making those around her feel comfortable. This may partially stem from her teachings in proper etiquette and mannerism but it’s also a part of how Lettie is. She’s witty and can be quite likeable when given the chance and is always ready to lend a helping hand or ear to anyone in need. As she spent most of her time in her mansion learning in comparison to running around with other kids, she’s generally eager to meet new people.
Likes:
♥ Pokemon - She has read about Pokemon and became fascinated with them, eager to learn more about them. Considering her grandmother was once a Pokemon trainer during her youth, she obtained most of her knowledge on Pokemon battling, training, raising, breeding and contests from her grandmother. She enjoys being around Pokemon for the same reason she likes being around materialist objects, she doesn't feel the need to hide her true self from them. Pokemon brings Lettie a sense of tranquility, something that's often taken away from her despite being as rich as can be.
♥ Fashion - Oh how she loves fashion. She loves the way material can be turned into something beautiful, something amazing, something desired. Going to Lumiose City just to revel in the many outfits and trends is a favorite pastime of hers, often caught staring in awe at the beautiful clothes and purchasing some along the way. She looks up to several super models and fashion designers within Kalos.
♥ Designing - Her creativity is channeled through her designs in clothes, designs in accessories and designs in a new Pokemon plushie. She finds freedom in creating these things as there are no limitations and no rules in what she makes, she can do whatever she likes without being reprimanded. She's often caught sketching new designs whenever she finds her mind wandering to things she'd rather not focus on.
♥ Intellect - Knowledge is important to Lettie. She believes the more knowledge you can obtain, the further you'd get and achieve in life. Perhaps its just her childish way of thinking, however. She enjoys intellect and takes pleasure in meeting those who possess it.
♥ Freedom - Yes, she longs for freedom. She loves the idea of being able to make her own decisions, to be able to make mistakes and being able to follow her own path and dreams. Who wouldn't? She tends to dream a lot about things like that though her freedom is quite limited.
♥ Sewing/Knitting - She's pretty talented in this department and considering it requires a lot of concentration, she loves it. It takes her mind off of things and brings her to a peaceful and quiet place where she can simply relax. Whether it's sewing her latest design of an outfit of simply knitting a new scarf, Lettie takes pride in her work and has confidence in at least these abilities.
♥ Learning - She loves learning new things, finding it fascinating. She's the type of individual who's eager to learn all she can and won't hesitate to ask questions on given topics. Like with intellect, she finds the need/want to learn to be a valuable asset in life.
♥ Tea - Hands down, best drink ever. Hot or iced, matters not.
Dislikes:
✗ Rudeness - She believes there are other ways to project your dislike towards something, rudeness not being one of them.
✗ Limitations - Growing up with a set of restrictions has resulted in her to harbor a discrete dislike for them. While she doesn't like being bound to things, she can't help but allow them each time considering she's so passive and feels the need to obey her parents.
✗ Destiny - Being destined to do something, destined to meet someone. She doesn't like the idea of any of that. This may just be because she was automatically 'destined' to carry on the family line and continue holding the family name.
✗ Sour foods - She doesn't appreciate that tangy feeling in her mouth, how it tingles the senses and makes your eyes water. Ugh, the horror.
✗ Plastic - Glass, china, porcelain those things may be breakable and not last but at least they're real. Plastic may be durable but it's also fake.
✗ Stereotypes - She doesn't understand how some people believe her to be a stuck up little princess when they don't even know her. She probably never will really fully understand it but she doesn't like to be automatically titled by the amount of money her family possesses. Angeletta Beaumont is Angeletta Beaumont, not just 'Beaumont'.
✗ Weakness - Showing signs of weakness or being the frail damsel in distress may be something a lady would be known for but not Lettie. She wants to be viewed as strong and as such she's awkward when it comes to talking about her inner most feelings let alone her negative feelings. She actually wishes to be able to lean on someone but at the same time despises herself for thinking such things.
✗ Height - She's short. Yes. Observe it. Don't mention it.
✗ Leeks - Hates it with a burning passion. Why it exists she doesn't know. Why people consume it she doesn't know. Her nose has the uncanny ability to detect it hidden or not in any dish it appears in. Let's just say, this was the one thing her educators, nannies, parents and family members failed in training her to adapt to. Due to this, she has a dislike for Farfetch'D.
History:
Paternal Grandfather - Pierre-Anton Beaumont
Paternal Grandmother - Evangeline Layla (nee Reynolds) Beaumont
Maternal Grandfather - Jaques-Antoine Mercier
Maternal Grandmother - Marie (nee Dubois) Mercier
Father - Duke Jean Pierre Beamont
Mother - Duchess Marie-Élise (nee Mercier) Beaumont
Jean Beaumont and Marie-Élise Mercier were set in an arranged marriage between their parents the moment they were born. Considering that their families were relatively close with one another, they had agreed to have their children wed if both were of the opposing gender of the other, fortunate for them, that was exactly what happened. Growing up with one another, it was common to see the Jean and Marie-Élise constantly bickering and squabbling with eachother which worried their parents. Even after the couple reached the age of 18 and were married, they continued to fight with one another. Marie-Élise bearing a grandchild for the Beaumonts and Merciers seemed almost impossible. Things changed, however, after a year of the wedded couple living with one another. They had grown to love eachother especially after Jean had stayed by Marie-Élise's side throughout the entire time she had caught the flu. Love seemed to find its way in the most unique of places.
Two years after their new-formed romance, Marie-Élise became pregnant and the moment she went into labor several things went wrong. The process itself became exceedingly difficult and painful, if not dangerous, to continue but Marie-Élise had faith that her baby would be born safely and despite the risks on her own body, went through with the birth. After hours of labor, Marie-Élise got her wish, her baby girl was born safely, Marie-Élise on the otherhand was informed she could no longer become pregnant again which saddened the young woman. The couple was happy enough, however, to have at least one little joy in their life and had decided to name their daughter, Angeletta which in French translated to 'little angel', followed by Evangeline after Jean's mother and Marie after Marie-Élise's mother. Considering she was the daughter of a Duke and Duchess the title 'Lady' was given to the baby and she became the heiress to the Beaumont family wealth. Due to the fact that her mother could bear no more children, Angeletta's parents became protective of their daughter and treasured her more than anything, her father lovingly calling her 'My little angel' and her mother and grandparents addressing her as 'Lettie'. Because of all this affection and love, it became difficult for the girl to ever disobey her parents.
Growing up in Camphrier Town as a little lady may have been a luxury with her residing in a mansion and having money, but it was not exactly easy. The moment Angeletta had turned five, she was placed in strict ettiquette classes and was home schooled by some of the best teachers in the Kalos region. She had ettiquette classes every morning, needing to attend each one unless given a mandatory excuse, where she practiced in her mannerisms and lady-like studies. She admits that while ettiquette classes were more grueling in comparison to her normal studies, she took a certain liking to them. Her homeschooling took place from Monday until Friday with Saturday off and Sunday being her Music lessons period where she practiced either violin or piano and singing. She really loved literature, enjoying to read about the many different stories Kalos and other regions of the Pokemon world had to offer and taking a liking to fictionous stories. She became an avid reader and an adroit writer, pleasing her parents, family and nannies. As such her marks in literature were excellent. She also took interest in art and was talented when it came to sewing which steadily resulted in her passion to be born: Design and fashion. She was so talented she even surprised her instructor who encouraged her to continue with her talent if she really liked to sew. Lettie did so.
Her parents were often busy with maintaining the family wealth, Pokemon and lands as well as mingling with other members of family prestige which resulted in Lettie to have a various assortment of nannies and butlers to care for her whenever they were away or simply too busy to pay her any attention. She took likings to most of her nannies and eventually had her own personal butler named, Henri whom was with her at all times. It was in fact Henri, with the help of Lettie's grandmother, Marie, who had gotten the girl her first Pokemon on her eigth birthday. A female baby Ponyta who had been born in the Mericer Stables whom Lettie named Fire Starter. Her bond with Fire Starter quickly deepened for the girl stayed with the Ponyta as much as she could, even taking her with her to classes. It was through Fire Starter that Lettie conveyed her inner most feelings on wanting to sew and design things. At the time it was accessories and Pokemon plushies.
Lettie surprised her parents when she made her first pair of Pokemon plushies, a Plusle and Minun, for her parents wedding anniversary when she turned ten. While they were amazed with the details of the endearing dolls, they were sure to tell Lettie to continue with her studies and not get too distracted with her hobbies. Due to the way her passion was received, the Lady made sure to conceal just how important sewing and design were to her and played the role of the good daughter who listened to everything her parents told her to do. During a field trip to Lumiose City, Lettie became fascinated with the fashion world around her and soon found herself inspired. She knew exactly what she wanted to truly design. She wanted to design clothes for people and Pokemon alike, with that thought in mind, the moment she returned home to her mansion she got to work. From then on, Lettie made trips to Lumiose City whenever she had free time, riding upon Fire Starter to get there and emmersed herself in the city, going to cafes and finding inspiration for her designs around every corner. She grew to love Lumiose and the love for the city didn't leave even as she grew older.
Upon her love for design and fashion, Lettie developed a love for Pokemon as well from her bond with Fire Starter but mostly from her grandmother, Marie. Marie had been a Pokemon Trainer during her youth 'a long time ago' and she still has most of her Pokemon from then to this day. Angeletta often listens to her grandmother's stories of her Pokemon travels and as she grows older, steadily learns about the concepts of battling, Pokemon contests and Pokemon Breeding which intrigue her as much as her passion of fashion and design. Training Fire Starter under her grandmother, Lettie is amazed when one day her little Ponyta evolves into the ever so beautiful Rapidash in mid battle, later defeating her grandmother's Rapidash afterward. From that moment on, Lettie became eager to travel the Pokemon world to go on her own journey. She was twelve after all, most children start off when they're ten. In her excitement, she doesn't tell her grandmother on her plans to tell her parents and instantly run off to ask her mother and father if she could go on a Pokemon journey. The young girl is confused and hurt when her father refuses the proposal, telling her its too dangerous, she's too young and lecturing her on how she was a Lady and needed to become a Duchess to become heiress to the family fortune. Marie later comforts her grand daughter on the whole ordeal. Despite her father's rejection, Lettie wanders off during her rare moments of free time to learn more about Pokemon from Marie whenever she decides not to travel to Lumiose City.
On the day of Angeletta's thirteenth birthday, Jean and Marie-Élise add a new lessons to the girl's already busy schedule: The Beaumont Family. Considering that Lettie was expected to take over the Beaumont family wealth when she reached of age to do so, she was to know how to maintain everything dealing with the family from the money to the lands and at last to the Pokemon they owned. As the Merciers, Marie-Élise's family, was under the Beaumonts due to marriage, the wealth, lands and Pokemon that Marie-Élise inherits also falls under this category. While Lettie is proud of her lineage, she secretly despises learning everything there is to learn about the family and maintaining all it has to offer. This stems from the fact that its a reminder that she isn't 'free' to do her own thing or make her own choices. With this new class affixed to her schedule, taught by members of her family including her parents, Lettie's life becomes busier than ever.
Being the dutiful daughter that she is and not wanting to cause a rift between herself and her family, Lettie continues to follow the rules and limitations set before her, however, her thoughts are rattled mid-way before she turns sixteen. Her butler, Henri and her grandmother, Marie approach her one morning with an interesting flyer in hand. A flyer that talks of a certain academy called Gray Garden Academy, a school that teaches about Pokemon. Intrigued from this piece of information, Lettie finds herself riveted by the Academy, having a compelling urge to join it but also having a sense of duty to her family. During the months approaching her sixteenth birthday, the Lady begins to wage war with herself and steadily begins to lean towards not joining the academy and fulfilling her daughterly duties, that is until the week before her sixteenth birthday.
During a rare family dinner, Jean announces possible suitors for Lettie to marry which pushes a button on the girl's emotions. As the family discusses the options, Lettie decides its now or never to make her thoughts heard. Standing up from the dining table she addresses her parents and grandparents before asking her father's permission to join Gray Garden Academy. Explaining the Academy to her father and mother, she proceeds to tell him that considering the fact that she will be turning sixteen next week, the final age you're able to be before the line is cut on being a student, she wishes he give her that single year to prove to him that she'll be able to become a responsible and strong trainer. Once she graduates and shows him how strong she has become, he allows her to go on a Pokemon journey until she reaches 18 where she must return home, marry, become a Duchess and inherit the family fortune.
At first, Lettie's proposal is rejected once more though after two weeks of deliberation, Jean finally gives in and allows his daughter to attend Gray Garden Academy under the conditions she made as well as she send them a letter every day on her progress and how she's doing. Shocked and ecstatic at the fact that she was allowed this mere amount of freedom, Lettie agreed to the terms and packed her belongings to head off to Gray Garden Academy. She bid Fire Starter a tearful goodbye, knowing she couldn't bring the Rapidash along and lovingly said her farewells to her family. She was determined to prove to them that she could become a strong trainer just like her grandmother and the thought of freedom, even just a taste of it, no matter how short-lived it was, was enough to get her blood boiling to accomplish her goal.
