The following are some rules and information regarding how breeding works.
Rules for Breeding
First, there's the process itself. It's fairly straightforward, but there are some things you'll need to know before you begin.
• To get things started, all you have to do is make a post, saying which Pokemon you wish to breed. Naturally, they must be of the opposite gender, and in the same Egg Group.
• After having your Pokemon breed, you must wait two weeks (or in this case, two Sundays) before that Pokemon may breed again.
• If you so wish, you may have one of your Pokemon breed with a Pokemon belonging to another student. In which case, one will make the request, while the other will confirm that they are fine with it.
• Any Eggs produced will have a 50/50 chance of being either species (as opposed to the games, where the species is always the same as the mother). The species will be determined upon receiving the egg, meaning you'll know what it is upon receiving the egg. However, in the case that a "rare Pokemon" breeds with a normal Pokemon, the child only has a 20% chance of being the rare species and an 80% chance of being the normal. However, the ratio will remain normal for two rare Pokemon.
• Egg Moves will still only be inherited by the father. Even if the father does not know the egg move given, it will still be passed on! However, for the sake of keeping things simple, TM moves will not be transferred from the father. Finally, if the species-corresponding parent has its hidden ability, the child has a 60% chance of also having it. However, if both have their hidden ability, that chance is increase to 80%.
• Results that are influenced by items will still apply. For example, breeding a Pikachu or Raichu while holding a Light Ball will still guarantee that the offspring will be a Pichu that has Volt Tackle.
Hatching an Egg
• For the Egg to hatch, you must make ten IC posts. However, they must be made in threads that started after you received the Egg to prevent time paradoxes.
• After you have these posts, simply make a thread (or use the thread the egg was made in if applicable) to display the links to all these posts. A mod will give you your Pokemon in return.
• Lastly, if any of your Pokemon have either Flame Body or Magma Armor as their ability, then the number of posts needed to hatch the Egg is cut in half, making it only five posts. However, the only condition for this is that the Pokemon in question must be in your party during each of these posts. Also, if you have more than one Pokemon with either Ability, the effects do not stack.
