Rocking the Grave [MOD]

Loud music pumped from his headphones as Cal entered the graveyard. He was sure most students would be too scared to come here, but he actually found it pretty interesting. All the people resting here, everyone who had lives and dreams, now under his feet. He was curious who the people were but most of the gravestones were worn away, it was a mystery and that made him even more interested. He had come out here to get away from people, that way he could blast his music and not get any annoyed looks. With a grin he took a seat on a very old looking bench, surprised the thing could still hold weight. He had first come here just to get away, but he knew Pokemon hung around here as well. If one happened to pass his way he wouldn't mind trying to catch it. After all he needed a larger team. Shrugging he leaned back and closed his eyes, letting the music take him away as he daydreamed.

Looking for: Poochyena, Purrloin, or Murkrow.

Cal was just about to doze off, despite the overly-loud music blasting into his ears. Just as his mind was about to go blank he felt something tickling his ear. "Stopppp," he said drowsily, batting whatever it was away. It stopped and he yawned, letting himself start to fall asleep again. The tickling started back a few seconds later and with a groan Cal finally opened his eyes to see the culprit. Pulling down his headphones he looked over and was surprised to see a small floating Drifloon hovering next to him on the bench. Raising an eyebrow he smiled, "Hey there...did you need something?" The Drifloon just stared at him with vacant eyes. "Well if you don't want anything, can you stop bothering me? I came here for some peace." He batted at the balloon-like Pokemon and it floated off into the darkness. "Now where was I..." Cal said with a slight yawn, putting his headphones back on and let his mind drift once more.

Action: Passing.

This time Cal had completely fallen asleep. How a person could sleep with music this loud was amazing. Yet again he was bothered awake...which annoyed him. Something was tugging at his pant leg, and the longer he ignored it the harder it got. "I thought I could get peace out here!" Cal growled, waking fully and pulling down his headphones once more. With blurry eyes he looked down to see something gray tugging at his jeans, growling and shaking its head back and forth trying to tear the material. When his vision cleared Cal finally realize what it was. A Poochyena. Shaking his leg he was able to dislodge the small pup and it looked at him stubbornly. "Hello," Cal said casually with a yawn. He'd actually always wanted one of these, and it was better than sleeping he guessed.

Stretching he got up off the old bench and the Poochyena took a few steps back. "If you wanted my attention so bad, you got it now." Cal reached in his bag, taking out a Pokeball knowing this Pokemon would be best for the battle. In a flash his Venipede, Ivy, plopped to the ground. With lazy eyes she looked around until she noticed the Pokemon standing before her. The Poochyena curiously sniffed at the bug before Ivy let out a low hiss making the dog jump back in surprise. "Use Bug Bite, that should hurt." Ivy huffed, obviously wanting to be back in her ball but listened anyway. She slowly moved forward, looking quite harmless until she was close enough to lunge forward. She bit the Poochyena hard and it being weak to bug moves made it even that more painful. The poor pup stumbled backwards, yet surprisingly was still on its feet.

It seemed too tired to attack, but still was able to do something. Looking up it bared its fangs, giving a scary face as its eyes bore into the bug. Ivy looked away, a slight look of fear in her eyes. "Come on, don't let that pup scare you...let's just finish this okay?" The Venipede looked a bit unsure but nodded. "Use Venoshock!" Ivy didn't make eye-contact with the Poochyena but didn't need to as she released a wave of poison energy at her foe. Cal wasn't sure if it would hit since the scary face knocked down her speed, but with the pup being so weak it didn't really even try to move. The Venoshock hit straight on and the Poochyena didn't stand a moment longer as it fell to the ground with a whine of pain. Cal felt slightly bad but knew the Poochyena would be fine after some rest. "Good job Ivy," he said with a smile and tossed a ball at the fallen dark-type.

The Pokemon broke free! Weaken it some more before killingcapturing it!

Cal sat back on the bench with a grin, waiting for the ball to come to a stop and signal he caught the Pokemon. Yet surprisingly in a flash the Poochyena was back up, and seemed to have recovered a bit. "Seriously?" Cal said with a groan and he was sure Ivy would do the same if she could. "You sure are a tough one aren't you?" The Wave dormer stood back up as the Poochyena growled at him defiantly. Before he could even get out a command the pup rushed forward biting down hard on Ivy. She let out a little squeal, wincing as she crawled away quickly. "Still got some fight in you eh?" Cal said as he thought for a moment. "Ivy use Toxic, and make it fast." Shaking off the pain the Venipede complied, opening her small mouth and shooting out disgusting poison gunk.

It landed right on the Poochyena, coating the Pokemon in dark-purple matter. It instantly poisoned the pup, and with a cry the Poochyena tried to shake it off. In a fit of anger it ran forward blindly, using another harsh bite on the bug Pokemon. Ivy was hit hard, rolling back a bit as she tried to keep standing. She could still withstand a few hits so Cal wasn't worried. This would be over soon after all. Since the Poochyena was poisoned he knew exactly what to do. "Use Venoshock to finish it off!" Being poisoned would double the attack power of Venoshock so this was sure to end this fight. The pup tried to run away but before it could get far the wave of poison hit it hard. It stood for a few moments wavering, until finally submitting to the poison and fainting.

Cal threw the ball again, this time hopefully he would catch the stubborn pooch.

This time the Poochyena didn't escape, and the ball stopped rolling with a final click. His eyes glinted happily as he scooped it up in his hand. "You were a tough one, but you're mine now." He glanced down at Ivy with a goofy grin. "You did a great job, got some experience out if it too hmm?" Ivy looked up at him with her sleepy eyes and just shrugged. "You should be more excited about your first battle." She grunted and crawled away through the grass, obviously wanting to go home. "You're such a buzz-kill," Cal groaned as he grabbed his bag and quickly followed the Venipede. He smiled at the Pokeball in his hand and gripped it tightly. He had a new Pokemon under his belt and it felt good. He was excited to see what would happen on his future adventures.
