Personality: Tristan has never been the "sit still and shut up" sort of guy. If he had something to say, he would say it. If he had something to do, he would do it. But that doesn't mean he doesn't know when he should be quiet. He also enjoys it more than most, using it to catch up on reading or other activities. He is a usually polite person, unless faced with someone who irritates him to no end, and he sticks up for his friends.
He is also known for giving them advice (wanted or not is not his concern) during his free time. As an intelligent, well-read person, he generally knows what he's talking about. This also brings about him being sarcastic at times or acting like he knows something when he has no clue. However, most of this is a show. He doesn't feel like he's really anybody special.

History: Tristan was born and raised in Cherrygrove City. It was a small town that boasted a warm, friendly community. Tristan never had any want for friends, and his family took good care of him. He had a perfectly content childhood. Still, he always felt like something was missing. The trainers that passed through Cherrygrove were often badgered by the children of the village. They were always forced (although they were usually quite willing) to give a detailed account of their adventures. After hearing another exciting story from another trainer, Tristan finally realized what he wanted. He started doing research on journeys with Pokemon.
He tried to go out into the world and catch a Pokemon on his own. He was found shortly after in the tall grass outside of town. He had been attacked and unable to defend himself. When he woke up the following morning, he told his family he was intending to do it again. They saw how serious he was, and they decided to do something drastic.
Tristan was sent to one of the apparent "top" trainer schools, Gray Garden Academy. His parents felt that if he were to go on a journey, he would at least learn how to do it properly.
