Benji let out a content sigh as he walked across the soft white sand of Harmonia Beach. It felt great to be out here, with the warm salty breeze and beautiful sight of crystal blue waters. He had felt cooped up at the academy all week and was glad to be out on this nice day. Though he wasn't here to just sight see, he was here for one reason and that was to catch a water-type Pokemon. His team was lacking that type and he thought it was about time he got one. He glanced around, not seeing anything within sight and shrugged.
He knew there had to be plenty of them around here, he'd just have to look harder. Taking his time he walked along the shore, the tide washing up and just barely making it to him before going back down into the ocean. He was sure one of these times the tide would get his feet wet, so he took off his boots and decided to just carry them. Taking in a deep breath of the fresh air he smiled and continued down the coast, excited to see what he would find here. |

Benji let out a contented sigh as he continued down the beach. His bare feet sinking into the sand it almost felt like he was walking on clouds. Each step into the warm sand made him smile and he even started to whistle a random tune. Suddenly his foot stepped on something...odd. It was slightly firm, but also kind of squishy. It was damp, and when whatever it was moved under his foot Benji let out a yell of surprise. Stumbling a few feet back he looked down to see what he had stepped on and was surprised at what he found.
"Is that a...?" he said and stopped mid-sentence as he took a step forward and leaned down. "It is, a Staryu, wow." The starfish-like Pokemon was wiggling slightly as if Benji had woken it up. "Sorry for stepping on you, it isn't the best spot to be laying buddy...maybe you should go in the water?" The Staryu just continued laying there, obviously ignoring the Mana student. "Fine, suit yourself...but you'll probably get stepped on again." He shrugged and stepped around the Pokemon, taking one last look at it as he continued down the shore. At least he could always say he stepped on a Staryu, not many people have that story under their belt.
Action: Passing! |

It wasn't long until Benji ran into another Pokemon, he knew they'd start showing up sooner or later but this was pretty quick! A Slowpoke was slowly, no pun intended, walking down the beach. It didn't really seem to notice the student as they passed eachother right by. Raising an eyebrow Benji stopped, turning slightly to look at the pink Pokemon. "Not going to stop?" He said in a light tone expecting the Slowpoke to stop and finally realize he was there. Nope, the thing just kept lazily walking, her tail waving back and forth very slowly as she got farther and farther out of Benji's vision. "Okay then..." He pondered following the Pokemon, since it was a quite interesting one. Though he was more into finding what else he could find out here. Taking one last look at the Slowpoke he shrugged and decided to leave the Pokemon alone. Who knows what else he would find out here. So he continued through the sandy shore and kept looking.
Action: Passing again~ |

This time at least twenty minutes had passed by and Benji had found nothing. The sun was starting to set slightly and he let out a sigh. Looked like he wouldn't find anything that he wanted today. Yet literally as he thought that his foot hit something...something hard. Since his boots were off he had no protection and stubbed his toes rather hard. "OWWWW shi-" he began to yell until he noticed it wasn't a rock...but a Corsola. She was nested in the damp sand just staring at him with curious eyes.
Still reeling from his foot pain he winced a bit. This wasn't exactly a Pokemon he wanted, but it would be good training for his Pichu. "You up for a battle?" The Corsola let out a little excited yip, digging itself out of its sand nest and shaking itself off. "I take that as a yes?" With a smile he dug out a Pokeball out of his pocket and released Finn, his Pichu. Finn landed in the sand softly and seemed happy to be outside his ball. "We've got a battle to win, let's start this now. Use Thunderwave!" Finn nodded quickly sending out a wave of pulsing electricity. It hit the Corsola, instantly paralyzing the water-type. Confused the poor thing tried to move only to be shocked slightly and just stood there frozen.
Benji felt a bit bad so he knew he should end this quickly. "Use Thundershock." Finn nodded, feeling a bit unsure and attacking a disabled Pokemon but did what he was told. He sent out a flash of electricity and it hit the wild Pokemon with a ZAP. The Corsola winced, taking major damage but still standing. It tried to attack once more, but still being paralyzed was unable to move. "Finish it now with a Volt Switch." Finn nodded and sent out the attack, again hitting his opponent directly. This time the Corsola couldn't withstand the attack and finally fainted. Benji frowned slightly hoping with a bit of rest the Corsola would be fine. He glanced down at his Pichu trying to lighten the situation. "You're one step closer to evolving, good job." Finn smiled letting out a happy "Chu!" and they both turned leaving the beach. He'd have to come back again to find more Pokemon, hopefully one he wanted to catch.
Action: Battled the Pokemon without catching. |
