So. The art class. If this ever becomes something serious, here is what I have thought on it.
Art Class would be a bit more free than the other classes. More socialization and the like. For the beginning of the thread, for around 2-4 rounds, more if needed, there will be a lecture about the main subject, ending with presenting the specific goal of the day and then dividing students into groups of two between four people, ideally. These students shall then make a sub thread, tackling the task of the day. There will be a time limit for these sub threads, consisting of around 36 hours in real life.
Some classes might tackle the same subject twice or even three times in a row, depending on how big of a job we will be tackling. We shouldn't be doing that many giant sculptures or the sort in classes that often, but if we do, the projects will continue for a few more classes.
Challenges of sorts might be added as well, like getting creative with paint mixing, or only providing a basic palette of the main colors and telling you to form as many different colors as you can. Themed classes might happen as well, for holiday seasons.
Now, to the beef. Art. What kind of art, you might ask? I'd say everything. Painting, sketching, sculpturing, pottery, photographing, textile work, all types of art honestly, along with diving into different styles of said art forms. History of said arts could also be discussed, along with some philosophical thought about what art is. But, classes would be very free. Sadly, one art form shall be left to the shadows. Cinema. No movies shall be discussed or filmed during these classes, so to the movie buffs, I send my deepest apologies. We might also get into more focused fabric art, depending on how classes go.
Some classes might be held outside for two of the art styles. Photographing and painting. If this happens, there will be a specific note left on the class room along with emails to the students giving them info on where the outside class will be held. The supplies for the outside threads will be moved there by the teacher.
Another idea could be trying to teach certain styles of known master artists, along with trying to copy one of their works as best as you can. Building specific art, like murals, or even some forms of churches, can be looked over as well.
The idea would be the teacher giving a certain assignment for the lesson, like "Take a partner and sketch them out." The teacher will then move from sub thread to sub thread from time to time to observe the students and give them some direction, or telling them they should be done and return to their main seats. Usually, a sub thread should last for around 36 hours or so of in real life time, with the teacher poking in every 12 hours or so.
Rewards. They will be between berries and incense, depending on the situation and the thought progress I have at the moment of the thread.
Pokemon can be involved as well. Not always, I'd say, but sometimes for things like painting one of your pokemon or sculpturing one. There would be info on if pokemon will be brought along in the thread itself.
But how would this all work mechanically? Well, my dear friends. We're not gonna use rolls here. I'd find art class to work best with the simple style of "If your character is crap at art, he's crap at art." Of course, if he's good at sculpting, be my guest. But if he sucks at painting? He sucks at painting. Simple as that. Just check your characters personalities and skills and see how they would do with the topic of the day.
This will be defined and bettered when more ideas come, along with possible suggestions.
