Since she had already visited the top of this mountain, Annie thought she might as well also explore the icy caves within it.
It was cold in there, to be sure, but that was hardly a surprise. The mountain was tall enough to be in eternal winter, after all. It was also dark, though enough light was reflected in through the entrance that Annie could see where she was going.
The sound of dripping water alerted the girl to the fact that these caves were at least slightly less cold than the wind-whipped peaks outside. She crept towards the puddles on the cave floor, curious as to what they were like.
{Wanted Pokémon: Seel, Spheal, or Lapras.}

A small, spherical creature popped up out of the puddle, startling Annie. Then it landed awkwardly on the icy ground, and she realized it was a Spheal. "Perfect!" she declared, laughing with joy, and released her Snover, Tomislav, from his Poké Ball. Tomislav made a happy noise and looked curiously from the Spheal to Annie and back. "We're here to make new friends," Annie explained to the innocent little creature, "but we have to show him we can fight before he'll be our friend. Make sense?"The Snover seemed to understand, and the battle began. Tomislav's Snow Warning ability kicked in right away, though it didn't exactly affect anything on account of both combatants being Ice-types. "Razor Leaf!" Annie ordered. A cloud of sharp-edged leaves immediately went flying at the Spheal, which squealed. The Spheal responded by curling up and going to sleep. The cuts from the leaves healed instantly. Annie couldn't help but laugh, though. It was just so cute! And so completely inappropriate! "All right, Tomislav," Annie giggled, "Razor Leaf again." Accordingly, the leaves again went flying. The Spheal did not seem to notice, but it let out a tremendous snore that knocked Tomislav briefly off-balance from the shock wave. The Snover recovered quickly and looked to his Trainer for further instructions. "One more Razor Leaf should do it," Annie said encouragingly, and Tomislav complied. The sleeping Spheal snored again in response. Annie reached into her bag and found an empty Academy Ball, which she tossed at the Spheal. Nervously, she watched to see if it would work... {Battle Log}A wild Spheal appeared! Annie sent out Tomislav! Tomislav's Snow Warning: It started to hail! Tomislav used Razor Leaf! The wild Spheal used Rest! The wild Spheal slept and became healthy! Hail is falling. Tomislav used Razor Leaf! The wild Spheal used Snore! Hail is falling. Tomislav used Razor Leaf! The wild Spheal used Snore! Hail is falling. Annie used one Academy Ball!

Annie scooped up the ball containing the Spheal and placed it alongside the others in her bag. She had been wanting a Water-type, to balance her team as well as an all-Ice team could be. "Come on, Tomislav," she invited her Pokémon. "Let's see if we can find anything else interesting up here... and perhaps if we can come up with a name for this round little guy."
"Sno?" the Snover inquired, and Annie laughed.
The water still dripped steadily down a stalactite into the puddle from whence Annie's newest companion had come, and the wind still howled outside, as she headed deeper into the cave.
