Cal wasn't afraid of heights like some people. In fact he actually loved looking down and seeing how far he could see. He never even got that weird feeling in his stomach, or had the slightest bit of fear. If he could fly he'd actually dive right off and let himself fall. Though, this wasn't the case so he had to be careful. Slowly he made his way to the edge of the cliff and peered over. The drop had to be probably thousands of feet if not more, so this was definitely a place to 'watch your step'. Seeing that this place was near the academy he thought there would be at least some sort of railing installed or a warning sign. Yet there was nothing, a student could literally fall off and no one would know. He shivered slightly at that thought as he continued to look down below. He guessed it was common sense to be careful here, yet he couldn't help but wonder if anyone had indeed fallen off in the past.

Shrugging he sat down, letting his feet dangle off the edge and swung them around a bit. He was here of course to catch a Pokemon but couldn't resist enjoying this view. Something was bound to pass him sooner or later. Hopefully they wouldn't startle him...that would be bad.

A soft breeze washed over the cliff, bringing with it the scent of nature and freedom. Cal took in a huge seep breath, trying to soak in everything he could. This wouldn't be that bad of a place to live, yet there was no water around. Cal loved his water, and even though this place was beautiful he didn't think he could stay that long. As he continued to swing his legs lazily over the cliff he noticed something floating up from his feet and up to the cliff's edge. The little bird took its perch right next to Cal, not even scared in the slightest. "A Swablu?" Cal said very quietly, still not wanting to scare it off just in case it somehow didn't notice him. Cal let a grin widen on his face. This Pokemon was blue...BLUE, and if you saw Cal even just once you knew he loved blue. Also it was adorable with those cotton-like wings and he knew it evolved into an even cooler Pokemon. He needed this one...now.

"You wouldn't mind if I caught you right?" He said as he got up and took a few steps back from the edge of the cliff. The Swablu's gaze followed the Wave Dormer, getting up itself and floating into the air. It hovered for a bit just staring at Cal curiously. "You won't actually just let me catch you without a fight though will you?" He had a hopeful tone in his voice, it would be much easier if the bird didn't mind and got into a ball without a battle. Though when the bird puffed out its little chest he knew that wouldn't be the case. "Okay, your choice. I guess we do this the hard way!" He rummaged through his bag quickly taking out a Pokeball and releasing his Buizel.

"Time to focus okay?" Ren looked around excitedly, not even listening to his trainer as he ran over to the side of the cliff to peek over. "REN!" Cal said loudly, his Buizel tended to get distracted easily just as the boy did himself. Ren's ears perked up at his owners yell and quickly ran back over. "You can look around as much as you like after this okay?" Ren pouted but nodded. "Use Swift!" A flurry of stars shot out and with perfect accuracy hit the Swablu. The blue bird winced, losing altitude slightly but regained composure. It flew forward at a fast speed and pecked Ren hard on the head. The Buizel let out a small grunt of pain, rubbing his head and glaring at his opponent.

"Fight back with Aqua Tail!" Ren ran forward in revenge, swinging his tail hard at the bird and it hit with a splash of cold water. The Swablu instantly retaliated with a Moonblast, this move hitting Ren pretty hard, even making him lose his balance and fall to the ground. "Will you make it?" Ren got up slowly, shaking off the pain but looked at Cal with a determined nod. "Use Double Hit!" Ren still slightly wincing rushed forward and hit the flying-type twice as hard as he could. They got even more lucky when one of the hits managed to do critical damage! The Swablu let out a cry, floating down to the ground unable to fly anymore. It just sat there in obvious pain, staring at the two of them. "Ready to be caught now?" Cal said as he threw a ball at the bird and waited.
