It was getting close to midnight, and Vivienne was kind of surprised that nobody else seemed to be in the common Living Area from either the Boys or Girls side of the dormitory. Turning on some voice-over Pokedrama where a Clefable playing a princess was refuting the advances of a duke, played by a Muk, as she waited for her long lost love, a Lucario. Vivienne watched for about five seconds before zoning out; her hair, normally done up in pigtails, was loose and free around her shoulders. The school uniform was long forgotten in favor of a light pink sleep shirt and a pair of pajama bottoms with a Jigglypuff pattern on them. In her arms was the Budew Marmalade, suckling on a bottle of greenish liquid. Formula for baby grass types, perhaps? Vivienne was going to return Marmalade to her ball as soon as she could get the Budew to sleep, but for now she was content to yawn and eye the box of macarons she'd sat next to her for her own late night snack.
The girl hummed some half remembered lullaby to the baby Pokemon, just waiting for the minute that she'd start to snow.

Ginny was tossing and turning in her bed. She hadnt been away from home without her parents and brothers ever. Rolling over grabbing Chester's ball and calling his out. In a pair of shorts and tank to she and Chester walks into the living area and sees a girls sitting there watching a show. In her arms she held a Budew drinking a bottle. Ginnifer smiled walking over and speaking. "Can't sleep either? My names Ginny, and this is Chester." Ginny's pink hair was pulled up into a ponytail. She stood there watching the girl tend to the baby Pokémon and watch the show. Chester yawned and laid down in the couch, Ginny took his lead and sat on the couch. Chester crawls over to Ginny and sits in her lap and relaxes.

Vivienne's lullaby was interrupted by the arrival of another girl, older looking than herself, with dark pink hair and a Chespin to match; she introduced herself as Ginny and the little grass type tagging along as Chester. Marmalade, who would've normally started jumping at the chance to terrorize meet new people and pokemon was just too tuckered out from the bottle and lullaby to do much. It had been awhile since she'd seen a Chespin, probably not since she left her home region. Between that and the pastries waiting to be eaten, she was hit with a bit of nostalgia for home; Vivienne wasn't the sort of person to really have all that much national pride or anything, but sometimes little reminders were nice. Hell, between the Pokeball Factory employing locals and foreign workers in equal measure and the tourist trade focusing on it's quaint yet quirky qualities, not many people in Laverre City even spoke with a noticeable Kalosian accent; case in point was Vivienne, who's soft voice only had the vaguest hint of something foreign to it.
"I'm Vivienne," The girl whispered, rocking the Budew slightly, "and this is Marmalade." She glanced as Ginny took a seat on the couch with her Chespin, thankfully at least at the other end. The box of macarons that Vivi was waiting for was small. She bit the inside of her lip; sharing her treats? What was the world coming to? Maybe if she pretended they weren't there, she could at least get away with sneaking them back to her dorm room....

Though she did notice the treats on the couch next the younger girl. She wasn't that into sweets. She was hyper enough and didn't need to add to it with sugar. With Chester in her lap she wasn't very free to move aaround playing withthe lleaves on the Chespins head. He liked that, it made him calm. Ginny could see that Vivienne was seyeing the Pokémon thatshe had. "It looks like you recognize this little guy." She said glance from the little girl to her Chespin. She picked this grass type because he was the cutest out of the different regions starters. It was a tie with Chester and the Sinnoh starter. "So if you do then that would mean you're from Kalos."

The Budew let the bottle slip from it's mouth, yawned once, and finally began to snore lightly. Vivienne let out a small sigh of relief at that. They never prepared you for the demands of baby Pokemon; and not those freshly hatched first stagers, but actual BABY pokemon like Budew, Azurill, and Pichu when you decided to start raising them. Still, even if Marmalade was slightly sociopathic, or at least a little sadistic, she was growing on her trainer like a fungus. Or, perhaps a better analogy, a flower. A very slow to grow flower.
"I didn't think I had that much of an accent." Vivienne finally replied to the girl's question. Her arm free, she chewed on the side of her lip for a brief moment before flipping the small bakery box open, "Macaron?" She offered, plucking one of the pink little confectionary delights from it and nudging the box over. She didn't bite into it yet as she paused for a moment, "I'm from Laverre City." Holding the Budew gave her something to do for a moment. "If you've got a Chespin, are you from Kalos too?" She asked in the same quiet tone. While some might assume this was for the benefit of the sleeping infant in her arms, this was just her general manner. Talk softly, keep track of what was going on, and never forget who owed you what, or what you owed them. Simple rules that formed the basis of Vivienne's personal code of conduct.

Ginny sat there stroking Chester's leaves on his head. He was now fast asleep. He looked down and smiled at her partner. Looking back over when Vivi spoke. She didn't have an accent to he'd knowledge. But she didn't pay attention to it, she was paying attention to the cute baby Budew. He concentration was broken again when she was afford a macaroon. "No thank you, I am hyper enough. Plus my mom says I'm sweet enough, that I don't need sweets." Ginny smiled and fixed her sstrap on her tank top that had fallen. Then she answered the second question she was asked. "No, I'm from Vurdenturf Town, that's in the Hoenn region." she giggled at the thought of her family back home. She missed them a lot and could wait to call them in the morning.

When the girl declined, Vivienne shrugged her shoulders and bit into the sweet. It was the perfect end to a somewhat stressful day. She wolfed it down within three bites before fishing another one out. She did notice the girl glance at the Budew, and she chuckled softly. "Don't let looks fool you." It was nearly ominous, even if she said it gently enough. "Marmalade's hell on wheels if I don't keep an eye on her with a mean streak to boot." The frank honesty was actually a little rare for Vivi, but it was late.
"Hoenn huh?" The girl kept the conversation going, not really paying attention to the television. There was the slightest tinge to her voice when she mentioned her family, and her hometown, that Vivienne could only guess the other girl missed her home a bit. "How long have you been here? I'm kind of new."

Ginny giggled at the comment about looks can fool you. Case in point her little brothers. They look sweet and innocent but they can be little terrors. The would lock her in the store room at the Pokémon Center and would lure her in to the cave and make Whismur cry and cause a Loudred to chase her out if the cave. When she would tell her parents what they did they wouldn't believe her. "I know what you mean. I have two little brothers. They are nine." Ginny sat watching the television listening to Vivi. She was good company this late at night. All of the other girls were asleep and she didn't have a roommate. So she had to find others that had trouble sleeping. She probably found one in Vivianne since she had her Budew. "Yeah, Hoenn. Its a wonderful place, but it's mostly water. So if you don't like water fun its not a place for you." She giggled again at the thought of Hoenn having so much water. "I havent been here long. I just arrived just the other night. How are you liking it?"

"Kalos is surrounded by water I guess, with a few rivers here and there." Vivienne said after the girl described Hoenn. "My hometown's got some marshland around it, weaving through the forests and abandoned buildings." Her memories of Laverre City would be colored by the events of a year ago for a long time, considering they had led to her expulsion from the city and enrollment into the academy. In one of those abandoned buildings, a little far out, she'd met her childhood best friend. Of all the things she missed about home, she missed the Klefki she'd dubbed Lockpick the most; even more than the patisserie, she longed for the days the two of them would pull off some elaborate prank or stunt and watch the locals reaction. It had been fun, and mostly harmless fun at that (or so she thought.)
Her trip down memory lane was halted when she considered Ginny's question. "It's...alright, I guess? Unless.....you know.." Vivienne wondered if the other girl had heard more than she had yet, since both had arrived after the incident, "The whole....uh...Team Origin thing?" She ended it a question, wondering if the other had heard more than she had.

"Verdenturf Town, its small. Have a cave passage to another town. Has a Pokémon Contest held there once a year. Also has a flower shop that I was at a lot. I volunteered at the Pokémon Center. That's what made me want to be a Pokémon Nurse." She want asked to describe her home town but she has a habit of going over board when it comes to explaining things. She could tell Vivi was deep in through for a few moments. Chester was still I her lap sleeping now andshe was sure he was having a great dream. That is if Pokémon had dreams.
Ginny hadn't heard anything about this Team Origin. She hasn't been out much. She was planning on going to the city soon. Maybe she will here about it out there. "No, I haven't heard anything about that. I haven't been out much. I've been setting up my room and getting use to life away from home. But I am planning going into town soon."

So the other girl wanted to be a Pokemon Nurse? It was a bit surprising, since most people seemed to be a little more focused on hurting than healing Pokemon from what she'd heard of the Academy so far. To each their own though.
"If there's even a town left to go into." Vivienne said, somewhat darkly. She realized the morbidity of her words almost as quickly as she said them. "From what I've gathered....." Vivienne was hesitating to say anything more. She hadn't been there, she hadn't experienced what the kids who'd gone to defend the town had. All she had were a handful of stories she'd gleaned from other students. "Things got pretty bad down there....they...they haven't caught the people responsible yet..." She looked over to the other girl, "So be careful outside of the campus, 'kay? I know I'm not going anywhere without my Pokemon..." She took a moment to draw out the Budew's Pokeball from the pocket of her pajama bottoms, returning it to the ball while it slumbered. Vivienne plucked another macaron from the box. "Even if we're not very strong yet..."

She sat listening to the younger girl. Watching her recall her Budew back into her pokeball. Ginny yawned as Vivianne continued to talk about the even that happened before they had arrived. "Well I'll find out soon." Ginny spoke then she spotted a commercial for one of the shops in town. It was for a clothing shop that catered to Pokémon and Humans. She knew she had to go check the shop out. Maybe she could find something for Chester. Her Vullaby, Regina, wasn't very sociable like Chester. "What is your other starter? Is it another grass type or did you go out of what was recommend for this dorm?" That's what she did with her second starter. She went with a Vullaby who is a Dark/Flying type.

"My second starter?" Vivienne smiled slowly, "She's a Flabebe. They're pretty common in my home region, but not so elsewhere." She drew her knees up to her chest for a minute. "To be honest, I've actually got a bit of a thing for Fairy types. When I was growing up, I made friends with one. Full of mischief, he was." There was more nostalgia in her voice than she'd intended, "I think I'd like to actually catch one of his kind, if I can find them." A thought crossed her mind as she looked over at the girl.
"We're both relatively new here, right?" She twiddled her thumbs lightly, "What if, in a couple of days, we had a battle for practice? Three on three? That way it'll get us out exploring for new Pokemon?"
She glanced up, innocently enough. Vivienne didn't wish Ginny or her Chespin any harm, really, but both of them needed battle experience, right?

When Vivi mentioned that she had a Flabebe she squeaked with joy. She loved flowers and she loved Pokémon. And Flabebe was the best of both things. "Sorry, I saw a Flabebe when I was picking out my starters. But j had already chosen my two. They are the most adorable things in the world." She said trying go contain her excitement. She knew she had to go and find one soon. Ginny then thought for a moment about Vivianne question about them battling. Yes they were both new at the Academy. They would be evenly matched unless she had Pokémon that had a type advantage over her. "That sounds good. A friendly battle would give us both experience. I heard they hold tournaments here between students."

Vivienne's smile echoed Ginny's over the girl's excitement about Flabebe. They were adorable, but they weren't exactly slouches when it came to battle either, especially once they began to evolve. That said, it was something she was apparently going to have the chance to show Ginny. "Alright. It's settled then. In a couple of days we'll meet outside the dorms for a quick match, okay? I'll leave a note under your Dorm room door, or you can leave one under mine to pick the right day and time in case we don't run into each other before then. That okay?" She stood with a stretch before offering the other girl a handshake of all things, perhaps to settle the arrangement or end the nightly conversation. Who knew?
