She's a petite woman with obnoxious pastel-blue hair, and a smile in her teal eyes. While working she usually opts for warm colored pantsuits, which is quite the contrast to the bright and colorful tops and blue jeans she wears when she's not. (Temporary Reference! Distinguishing Features: She has a terrible scar on her right knee, and seems to walk with a limp because of whatever caused it. There also seems to be the edge of a tattoo right under her left sleeve, if one looks closely enough...

Personality: Deidre is always full of an almost childlike wonder about her 'babies'. Even with as long as she has been doing it, every hatchling gets her excited and hopeful for it's future. Will it be a companion to some rich socialite? Will it go to win challenges? She just can't help but picture the future of whatever she hatches. The fact that some mock her for being overly eccentric isn't a fact lost on her. She knows, and choses to ignore it. There were plenty of Pokemon out there that weren't treated well; the least she could do was make sure the few she had control over were. If she can afford it, she tries her best to make sure everyone she cares about is happy and comfortable.
On the other side, however, she is a bit vain and prone to caring about her belongings a bit too much; especially if they become our of the organization she has set for them. This almost crosses into utter arrogance, and tends to try to take charge of whatever situation she's in. Sometimes this pushes people away from her, which only makes matters worse when she thrives being surrounded by others.
Despite her compassionate nature, she has no tolerance for her students being smart asses. While being goofy is one thing, and completely understandable, she will not hesitate to boot someone from her class for being a troublemaker. Her fuse can be very short, on top of that; so one would be wise not to try and push her buttons! Although, her distaste of stubborn students is just a tad hypocritical. Once she gets her mind made up on a decision, it's difficult to dissuade her from it.
She is honest almost to a fault. Even if something will get her in trouble, she will opt to tell the truth about the situation. Her big mouth has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion, but it has also cleared the air on plenty more. If for some reason she doesn't come right out with what's on her mind, you can be sure something is terribly wrong.

History: Deidre's parents were owners of a small breeding center not far from Verdenturf Town. Even from a young age she she was fascinated with the entire process. As soon as she was old enough to understand how it worked, she spent her days studying breeding patterns, how certain breeds reacted with one another. She took the time to learn the different groups of pokemon, baffled by how some can breed with others that had nothing in common─she swears to this day she saw an egg produced with a Skitty and a Wailord once.
Her wonder filled fascination turned to practicality when her parents gifted her with one of the buildings to herself on her tenth birthday. They were able to tell early on where her skill lay, and gave her the room to run with it. Her first year didn't produce very many 'good' breeds, according to others. This confused her at first, until she realized there was so much more than just making babies. Before long she began to notice a pattern of how the Pokemon would learn moves from what their parents moved, and when a Luxray and a Luxio she took in from two others produced a strangely colored Shinx, she began to understand even how appearence could be affected.
The Pokemon that were deemed 'less then perfect' were still always perfect in her eyes. She had seen how her parents would often release ones like that into the wild, but the thought of paying someone to bring them to the correct habitat seemed a waste when finding them homes was much more satisfying. After a while, rather than giving the normally 'un-adoptable' babies to their families hired release trainer, she found homes and trainers who wanted companionship rather than to compete. At seventeen, Deidre started a foundation to help match unwanted bred Pokemon to children who couldn't catch or find their own. It wasn't anything particularly fancy or spectacular, but was something that solved two problems with one stone. She found a way to home Pokemon that was relatively inexpensive, and children were able to get Pokemon to start their journeys or keep them company at home. This way rather than hire someone to release the pokemon all the time, she just had to hire someone to check in on the Pokemon to make sure they were being treated well for the first little while. Sometimes it almost seemed to cost about the same regardless, but this way made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
As the years continued to pass, she continued her operations and grew from the one building she started with. Her own team grew with the babies she couldn't bring herself to give up, and they began to help her as she grew in their own ways as well. Before she knew it she had her own huge section of the center that rivaled that of her parent's. While her parent's focused more on the battle perspective of breeding, however, her own section focused on personalities and appearance. She had become pretty skilled at picking out Pokemon to breed strange colors, and became known for that ability and became the main source of her income.
Still, as time went by she almost began to grow bored. The people she hired started to run like a well oiled machine, and the part she loved about her center became not her own anymore. Her team began to grow restless as well, and she could tell. It was no big surprise that when she heard of the Academy opening far to the east, her curiosity was struck hard. There was word that they needed teachers, and what better than a progeny breeder like herself? After a discussion with her parents and her workers, they decided that they could take on her part of the center since the workers were already in charge of most of it as it was. They promised they would make sure her foundation remained in place, and before long she found herself traveling east to make a new home.
As a teacher, she tends to focus on the same thing she did in her job─breeding for comfort and company rather than challenges and winning. She discovered long ago the former can be just as difficult and rewarding as the last; it takes even more skill to try to breed for both!
