Benji had taken a short nap after the tournament and when he woke up he was starving. He wasn't sure if it was just all the battling or perhaps since he hadn't ate anything since this morning. Shrugging he quickly entered the cafeteria, carefully holding his Bagon Egg. It was really close to hatching and he didn't want to leave it back at the dorm and risk it hatching all alone. He headed over and tried to order his food as fast as possible. The egg was pretty heavy and he didn't want to accidentally drop it, that surely wouldn't be good.
After getting a nice helping of spicy ramen he took it to an empty table by a window and sat down. He carefully placed the egg on the table and proceeded to dig into his steaming hot noodles. It burned his tongue like crazy but he was so hungry he didn't even care and kept stuffing it in as fast as he could. Out of the corner of his eye he could have sworn the egg jiggled a bit and he raised an eyebrow mid-chew. Though when he actually looked it wasn't moving, so he shrugged thinking he must have been seeing things. He continued chowing down and knew he would probably need two more helpings before being even near full.

He really didn't want to eat here. His history of Cafeteria food wasn't the best, and he always found them filthy, disgusting, and the food tasting awful to the point where he would sooner bring his own lunch than sit and eat from one. But this place seemed different so far, so he decided to take the chance. Wearing his usual green uniform, and with his Sylveon by his side, he walked in and headed for the line. By the time he got in there, the line was pretty long, and the Cafeteria was getting more and more full.
After ordering his food, which was a simple order of Miso Ramen with egg toppings, he went to look for a seat. Which turned out to be a bit more difficult than he expected it would be. He saw table with space for him to sit near the windows, but someone had been sitting there too. He looked familiar, but he couldn't place his finger on it. 'Maybe hew as in one of my classes?' He thought to himself. The weight from the tray made him realize he needed to sit. Soon. Well, won't hurt to ask to sit.' He told himself and walked over.
"Excuse me, sorry for interrupting, but do you mind me sitting here?" He asked. The Sylveon had already taken it upon herself to jump on the seat before even getting an answer.

He was already halfway through his second serving when he noticed someone coming out of the corner of his eye. He finished slurping up the noodles that were hanging from his mouth and glanced up. He first noticed a Sylveon hopping up and then raised his eyes higher to see who it belonged to. It was a Nature Dormer that was for sure, and he thought he'd seen him in class before but couldn't remember his name. Quickly Benji took a drink of his water to clear out his throat as he nodded. "No problem go ahead, it is rather crowded in here. I'm surprised I got this seat since most like sitting by the window."
He began to outstretch his hand for a friendly shake but realized they were kind of greasy from the ramen and quickly brought it back to his side. He still managed a smile and motioned for the guy to sit. "I'm Benji by the way, I believe I've seen you around before. Sorry I don't recall your name though." As he took another bite of his food he could of sworn his egg moved yet again. "Did you see my egg just move or am I seeing things?"

When the guy had told him that he could sit, he couldn't help but smile. "Thank you." He said, and was about to shake the guy's hand before he pulled back. Richard was confused at the gesture, but sat down anyway. He grabbed an egg from the bowl and blew on it lightly before taking a bite out of it. His Sylveon just kept trying to sniff at the bowl, wondering what it was that he was eating. She didn't actually want any of it, she was just curious.
"Ah, I'm Richard. I don't think we've ever formally met, actually. In any case, nice to meet you." He replied. It had bothered him that he couldn't place where he saw him; if there was one thing he could remember it was the faces of people he'd seen before. After eating some of the noodles, he couldn't help but want to ask him a couple of things. Before he could, he noticed the egg that Benji had shook a bit, before going back to being still. He couldn't have been seeing things, could he? But when Benji had asked him whether he noticed it, he figured that there couldn't be two people who were hallucinating.
"Yes, it look like it shook a bit." He wondered what the egg was. Having absolutely no experience with them, he found himself interested in them, but breeding was something way over his head. Or at least he felt that way, anyway. "May I ask what the Pokemon is?" He figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Richard. The name seemed vaguely familiar, and he must have heard it in class at one point. Though those questions were left unanswered when the Nature dormer had noticed the egg moving as well. Benji's eyes curiously looked at the egg as he stopped eating and pushed his food to the side. "I knew I wasn't seeing things!" He slid the egg carefully in front of him and it felt warmer than it usually did. Was it supposed to be like this? He had no idea since this was the first egg he ever raised. There wasn't exactly a manual on it, or maybe there was, but in any case he was still pretty clueless on the process. He glanced up answering Richard's question. "Ah, it's a Bagon egg. I bought it from Adolfina, which I'm sure many have bought eggs from her right?" He smiled slightly with a chuckle and continued to look at the egg. He hadn't been carrying it around for that long so it would be surprising if it hatched so soon. Yet he really didn't have much experience with it so how would he know.
It started wobbling a bit back and forth and Benji tried his best to make sure it didn't fall off the table. "Whoa, okay we both saw that for sure now right?" He didn't need to wait for an answer as it began to shake even more, a subtle cracking noise coming from inside. "Is...is it hatching?" His eyes were wide and he had to keep his jaw from dropping. So it was good he hadn't left the egg behind, what would have happened if it had hatched alone in his dorm room? Bits of the egg started cracking visibly now, sliding off and littering the table. After awhile the holes were big enough to see something moving inside. After a few minutes the egg stopped cracking and moving all together. "Uhm...is it supposed to do that?" He said with a worried tone in his voice and nudged the egg. "Maybe it's tired?" Benji felt like peeling the rest of the egg open but wasn't sure if that was a good idea.
