And the Seed Blooms (Semi-finals/Round 2 versus Tanya)

While she was glad that she managed to get the Flygon out of the way, the Whimsicott entered the battlefield once again. Gundamu was a pretty important team member, so hearing the order to use Grasswhistle was not something that Tanya wanted to hear. Since Prankster was back up, the pokemon was going to hit the attack. She did not want Gundamu to be asleep.
"Daniel, take the place of Gundamu!" Tanya ordered, returning Gundamu to his pokeball and sending out the Lopunny once again. Hearing the sounds of the grasswhistle, he began to drift off into a sleep. Once the song was over, he promptly collapsed on the floor. Hoping that the sleep turns wouldn't last too long, Tanya could only wait to see what Adolfina had planned for her pokemon.
Action: Switched Gundamu with Daniel the Lopunny. Daniel is now asleep!

Rather than having her Golurk take to sleep, the opponent decided to send out that rabbit again. It would be asleep, sure, but the length was impossible to predict. All she could do was prepare in much the same way she had before. How. . . utterly bothersome. For the time being, though, she needed to work with what she had and best increase her chances of pulling through. As it stood, she had probably taken half of the Golurk's endurance total. Meanwhile, this rabbit was back. It was damaged, sure, and asleep, to boot, but she didn't like it very much. Her plans were thrown into a bit of disorder. For now, she needed to set back up, then proceed with a bit more aggression.
She had to make up for the lack of Limos.
”Diablo, use Cotton Guard.” It was time to repeat the cycle. The Whimsicott puffed up as her cottony mane fluffed. Her physical resistance built itself back up. Action: Whimsicott used Cotton Guard Notes: Cotton Guard presents a +3 to defense (2.5x modifier)

While Tanya watched her pokemon continue to sleep, she saw the pokemon gaining defenses once again. Knowing that Gundamu probably wasn't enough to take the pokemon out, she wondered what she could do. It was frustrating to know that her options were limited and she didn't know what to expect from her opponent's pokemon. She still had one left to reveal and Tanya was praying it wasn't something that could really mess her up.
She might as well keep Daniel in and let the sleep turns go away. She crossed her arms and looked uncomfortable. Hopefully there would be a way for her to deal with the situation. She didn't want to think worst case scenarios, but with battling, she had to consider all the options she had. Right now, they were pretty limited and they would be as long as she didn't know Adolfina's last pokemon. Still, there must be something she could do.
Action: Daniel slept this turn! Nothing happens!

The target still slumbered. If she were to consider the circumstances, how did thing stand? The Golurk had a known super-effective move. However, fortunately, it was physically-oriented, meaning that that Cotton Guard would serve well. The Lopunny before them was weakened, and sleeping. She could still make this work, she believed. It'd require some work, certainly, but she could still get everything to fall together- like a puzzle of sorts. Her mind gradually began to piece things together. Yes, with a little aggression, this could still end well. Her slow, defensive approach would need to be dropped now, but she could do it.
”Diablo, use Moonblast.” The fluffball prepared and built up a surge of pink faenergy. Then, with a puff, she blew it at the Lopunny! Action: Whimsicott used Moonblast Notes: 95 BP Fairy-type; STAB-boosted, backed by Sp Atk of 77; 100% accuracy, 30% chance of dropping Sp Atk by 1, roll below V9qEQizp”1-10”If 1-3, Sp Atk -1 1-4Inserted paralysis roll for Whimsicott. Upon being attacked by the Moonblast, Daniel woke up, flying through the air and smashing into the ground. Pushing himself up, he look extremely weakened as Tanya racked her brains to come up with a solution to the problem. Right now, the best plan of action was keeping Daniel in. If she did that, she stood a decent chance of winning this match. It was going to be hard and at the end, it was all going to have to end on chance.
"Daniel! Use Thunder Wave!" Tanya commanded, seeing her taking an offensive strategy. It clear to her that changing her ability would do nothing. She had to give the pokemon a lasting debilitation. One that would allow her to comeback later for the victory. Knowing that, she watched as Daniel began rubbing his arms together, generating static energy before launching it at the Whimsicott, aiming to paralyze the pokemon. It was funny, how things tended to end up quite a bit in chance. It added tension to the already intense battle. She wanted to win so badly.
Action: Daniel used Thunder Wave! Paralyzes pokemon that hits!

She had no Flygon to send out this time- no Ground-type to soak up the electricity like a sponge. She needed more of them, really. She needed a means of neutralizing such a base threat more so, though. Utilizing a third Pokemon now would be tying her hands behind her back. Moreover, letting them be paralyzed was a double loss. Adolfina had to take the blow here and now as opposed to later on. In her mind, she sighed. The electricity washed over the Whimsicott, causing her body to stiffen up and her cottony mane to fluff further- though, this time, it was just a reaction, as opposed to a defensive boost.
”Another Moonblast, Diablo!” The blonde demanded, hoping that the paralysis wouldn't kick in. For a moment, though, it looked like it had. The Whimsicott was stiff. Then, with a shiver of her shoulders and a giggle as she looked back to her mistress, Diablo nodded. Prankster indeed. Charging the third burst of faenergy directed at the Lopunny for this match, the Whimsicott puffed and sent the pink energy flying at the Lopunny! Action: Whimsicott used Moonblast Notes: Para roll in the preceding post; paralysis did not activate. 95 BP Fairy-type; STAB-boosted, backed by Sp Atk of 77; 100% accuracy, 30% chance of dropping Sp Atk by 1, roll below Hkd5RFOD”1-10”If 1-3, Sp Atk -1 ”1-10”

And that was that, Daniel couldn't possibly take another hit like that. The pokemon promptly collapsed, losing all of his energy as the final attack hit. At least he managed to paralyze the Whimsicott. While she didn't know if it was going to come in handy in the long run, she knew that it was at least better than just letting the pokemon abuse Prankster. Granted, there was still a high chance of that happening, so she kept that in mind.
Returning Daniel to her pokeball, Tanya picked up a different pokeball, holding it in her hands before releasing the pokemon that was inside. From her pokeball appeared Dani, her Dragalge. Standing strong on the battlefield, she leered at the Whimsicott, waiting for an order.
"Attack with Sludge Bomb!" Tanya declared, crossing her fingers that the attack would hit their intended target. She didn't want to have to deal with an annoying Whimsicott in the long run. Accumulating toxic bile, Dani formed it into a ball before shooting it at the Whimsicott, the ball flying towards her intended target.

The Lopunny was done. Finally, that rabbit was over and done with. However, the damage had already been done in the form of paralysis. The blonde was pleased with the take down, but displeased with the costs of reaching that conclusion. After all, she didn't even know what the opponent's third Pokemon was yet- . . . no, now she did. And, rather than being disappointed, the girl was extremely pleased. Yes, she was aware of the potential danger that the poisonous dragon hefted above the Whimsicott. Yes, she fully expected the ordered Sludge Bomb to finish off Diablo- from “perfect” shape, even! However, despite that, the blocks of the puzzle had fallen together! The poison extinguished the Whimsicott's strength. The girl returned it, smiling slightly and whispering praise to the ball. Diablo had done well, after all. She reached for the third ball of the battle- her trump card in this situation.
And so the final stretch of the battle began.
”Felix! Go all out! Go wild! Destroy it! Outrage!” She shouted as she released the Goodra from his ball. The slimy titan let out an almost liquid-y squeal before his body seemed to ooze with power! Then, with absolute fury and a lack of control, the dragon stampeded forward towards the Dragalge, prepared to unleash literal hell upon it. Normally, Adolfina would not resort to a “wild card” Move like that, but she kept it on the dragon for a situation like this. The absurd level of power Outrage had, enhanced by being used by a dragon, was devastating, and, against a dragon, it was a practical death sentence! And, that Golurk? Even if it wasn't a Dragon-type, it took Limos' Earth Power and Heat Wave. It wasn't in good shape.
Fortune smiled on her, she believed. Action: Whimsicotted fainted. Sent in Goodra. Goodra used Outrage. Notes: Whimsicott fainted from Sludge Bomb due to definite OHKO. Goodra sent out. Used Outrage. 120 BP Dragon-type, boosted by STAB, directed at Dragalge, a Dragon-type. Backed by a base Attack of 100. Perfect! That was two down and one to go! Tanya could almost taste the victory! Seeing what pokemon she had left, it was revealed to be Goodra. That promptly used Outrage. There was no way her Dragalge was going to survive that. After promptly fainting, Tanya clasped her arms around Gundamu's pokeball. All she needed was for him to survive one Outrage. If he did, she had the victory in the bag.
"Gundamu! Attack with Ice Punch!" Tanya shouted out desperately, returning Dani to her pokeball and sending out Gundamu. Losing his legs in favor of jets, he flew towards the pokemon once again. Charging up the ice, he thrusted his fist forward and punched the ever loving hell out of the Goodra. She doubted it would go down just yet, but she could feel the victory closing in. Just one more. Survive just one more attack. You can do it Gundamu.

The Dragalge dropped like a fly. Then came out the Golurk. The anticipated Ice Punch came flying at the Goodra! . . . and it did not freeze Felix. That was the final block of the puzzle. Everything checked out. Assuming that her calculations were spot-on, she was good to go. This fight. . . was over. The blonde let out a slight giggle. Relief flooded her mind. Her body relaxed. It had slipped out in that brief burst of emotion. That was bad. She needed to calm down. She took a breath.
”Felix, continue.” Despite her having regained her “composure”, Adolfina was smiling. With the order given (not that it matter, really, given the ferocity of the dragon), Felix wildly flailed, swiped, kicked, and otherwise beat at the Golurk. The dragon was immensely enraged.
And then, after getting that out of his system, he kind of just. . . swayed in place. Looking dazed. Action: Goodra used Outrage. Notes: Used Outrage. 120 BP Dragon-type, boosted by STAB. Outrage ended. Confusion set in.

Tanya watched for a moment as the Golurk stood strong for a moment, taking the entire brunt of the attack. However, it seemed that the Flygon had done the damage and it promptly fell to the floor, her hopes of victory dashed just like that. She let out a dissapointed sigh. She had come super close to winning and just like that, it was gone. While she was dissapointed for a moment, she changed her face into a grin as she returned Gundamu to his pokeball.
"Oh man that sucks. I was so close." Tanya called out, laughing to herself before smiling at Adolfina, trying to hide her disappointment. "Oh well, it was a fun match. I hope you had fun as well." Was she talking too much? Probably. She didn't think Adolfina was the type of person who liked this sort of stuff, but she felt like she had a lot to get out of her system after that epic match.
"We should totally have a battle again sometime. But for now, I guess I have to take my leave. Good Luck!" And with that, Tanya took her leave of the stadium. She did pretty well, beating Oleg and coming close to finishing Adolfina. Still, she had a lot to learn and a lot of things she could improve. Still, she had fun. That's what mattered in the end.
