Endless Flowers [Mod]

Astrid sighed softly as she wandered out into the sunflower fields beyond the forest. Lately, between the tournament and the less than pleasant states of some of her friends, she had a lot on her mind. Most of it wasn't good. For her own state, she was fine. Her loss had come as a result of misjudging and getting punished for it. It gave her a lot to think about, for improving in the future. For that, she needed more experience, more options, and more ideas. But it also gave her perhaps too much time to think about the less than pleasant side of it all. Namely that it seemed like Seria hate her now. What was she going to do about that?

...Well, she could at least try paying her a visit later. It would have to happen eventually. For the moment, though, she was here in search of new partners.

After awhile of mostly aimless wandering, Astrid found a mostly clear patch and sat down to rest her legs for a bit. She sighed, leaning back and staring up at the sky. Clear skies as far as the eye could see. Nothing but sunshine. Endless sunshine, and other than a soft tugging at her bag it was just as peaceful down on the ground as well.

...Wait.

Astrid turned her head and looked back towards the ground to find a blue pointy-eared...whatever, trying to pry her bag open. "Oi, get away from that," she said, pulling the bag out of its grasp and swinging it to drive the Pokemon off. "Nothing in there for you. Shoo." Thankfully, the Pokemon quickly tottered off without a fuss.

Astrid continued to sit and rest for awhile, eventually lying back and closing her eyes. For someone who spent so much of her time indoors, she could only take so much of the sunshine at much. After that, she had to close and rest her eyes for a bit.

After a couple minutes of doing something, she felt something poking at her face. She slowly opened her eyes, trying not to be overwhelmed by the brightness, only to find a Munna floating over her, nudging at her with its nose. She then met its eyes, and it promptly jerked away and floated off.

"Huh. Must've thought I was asleep," Astrid said.

After awhile longer, another pokemon came Astrid's way. This one looked like it had only freshly hatched, and was still stuck in half of the egg shell. "Hey there," Astrid said, waving at the egg Pokemon. It waved back. It didn't seem like it was looking for a fight, but...

At that moment, a shift of her body depressed the release button on one of Astrid's balls, and her Porygon popped out of it. The moment the egg Pokemon saw it, it went straight for the polygonal construct and kissed it.

Eh?

Well, it seemed like Voyager was just as confused. Except, no, that was a bad thing. It immediately tried to fight back, only to overload and damage itself. The Togepi giggled, then put up a barrier to try to avoid any similar retaliation. Unfortunately, Voyager didn't damage itself again, and fought back with raw force, hitting the Togepi with a burst of electricity. Realizing that its cunning plan had failed, it charged headlong into Voyager with an all-out attack that damaged itself as well in the process. Only to find out that, much to its surprise, the graphical construct was actually pretty sturdy.

Astrid blinked at the scene for several seconds, then sighed. "Well then. Might as well finish this," she said. "Discharge again!" Voyager responded with another burst of electricity, shaking off its confusion just in time to fire it off. Showing miraculous resilience for a fresh hatchling, the Togepi survived the attack...then went for another all-out desperation attack.

Again, however, Voyager survived with little damage, and on Astrid's orders knocked the Togepi out with a third blast of electricity. Seeing her chance, Astrid threw a Pokeball at the downed egg baby.
