Personality: Oh ho, the negatives. Yuu has. Yuu is what one might call an extreme pessimist. His annoyance with humanity is the reason why he does his best to avoid people. He tends to be grumpy or at least look like it all the time and he will be VERY vocal with his annoyances about various things.
Yuu happens to be a SEVERE addict when it comes to pockey. One will notice that he always have a stick of pockey in his mouth. If he doesn't have pockey in a certain period of time, he literally sufferings from withdrawal symptoms. In fact, pockey is really one of the few ways one can tell his mood. One pockey in his mouth means he is normal. Two pockey in his mouth means he is happy. Three in his mouth means he is unrealistically grumpy.
Yuu tends to be anti-social as a consequence from him cutting himself off from people. He might be kind and soft to pokemon but around people he is rather harsh and often annoyed by a majority of the things people tend to do. Be they personality flaws or things Yuu perceives as stupid and ludicrous
Yuu has so many negatives that it really obscures his positives, but none the less he does have them. He is like a diamond buried deep in lots and lots of soil and rock in that sense. He is kind hearted once people actually get to know him. He is soft to his pokemon and always disciplines them properly. He gives them respect and in return his pokemon give him dedication. Oddly enough, he is very concerning to not just pokemon despite his open annoyance with most people. He would often give people advice (abet in a cold hearted manner) to not make the mistakes he has made in his life and generally try to help them though he would have difficulty showing it.
Yuu aside from his kindness, also a surprising amount of will power. He will not give up no matter the situation and often inspire others. He will push on forward no matter what gets thrown at him (whether or not he complains about it though is a whole matter all together)
Yuu is observant. He will constantly stop to take a good look around him. This helps him when observing a person or pokemon's behavior and it helps in battles as well as he can often gauge when something will work or when something will not. This skill in observation though while a positive, is often the cause of Yuu's annoyances as he notices small things that might go unnoticed.

History: Yuu Lihua was born to a couple in Celadon City. His father was a business man at a huge company and as such was never around at home often and was a harsh workaholic. At first, Yuu's mother was okay with it since she herself couldn't get a job at the time. Suffice to say, the family was not a happy one when it turned out Yuu's father was seeing someone else. Yuu's trust issues developed from there.
The case was more or less open and shut, Yuu's mother winning custody and them moving to Viridian City where his mother became a teacher. However, it wasn't anywhere close to an ideal home life. Yuu would often get people mad with due to his recently developed behavior and he has been in at least two fights. Not to mention Yuu's mother doesn't talk to Yuu much what with him being a reminder of her failed relationship.
Thankfully, an opportunity came. Yuu never was particularly interested in going on a Pokemon Journey but he always liked watching people battle at the Trainer House. It was there he found a magazine article talking about the Academy. With his mother's blessing, Yuu is now on his way to Gray Garden Academy, hoping to learn what he needs and maybe enjoy the island filed with various Pokemon during his time there.
