Round 3/Meili
Alright, this was the round to decide who got third place in the tournament. That had to mean there was going to be a big prize for the people that got in the three top places. Well, he had lost to Benji because of his own stupidity, and this round he wasn't going to do the same thing. Eager to start the battle James simply began to whistle as he waited for his opponent. Once again all the information he was given on them was their name, and in this case their name was Meili. Perfect, sounded like a girl's name. But that didn't mean things would be easier, all it meant was that it was someone that might have mercy. Might, which hopefully was the case, so he could turn this game around. He had a simple plan, let them release their first Pokemon, then release his and get the first attack off. He wasn't going to make the same mistake he made with Amanda.

So it looked like there was a match going on to decide who gets to hold on to third place. Meili adjusted her hat and removed her Pokeballs from the healing machine. It was disappointing that she didn't win that match but none the less she has to at least hold for third place. At this point, she can't complain. She attached them to her belt as she headed over to the arena. The bracket stated she was up against James, a Nature Dorm student.
"Okay, let's go..." Meili detached a Pokeball from her belt. It was no question who she was going to start out with. "Du!" She threw the Pokeball into the air and unleashed the dark blue toad. Du let out an amused croak toward her opponent. Action: Sent out Du.

Well well well, Meili was going to use a Crogunk! This was by far going to be a win, unless she released some insanely strong Pokemon, but hey, what was the chance of that happening? Taking a Pokeball from his belt he was definitely prepared to win this. With a few clicks of the Pokeball a Larvitar popped out. "Alright alright Connor, let's do this. Just stretch a bit, we got this in the bag." He said, before the small Larvitar stretched its arms. James simply watched as he stretched this limb and that limb for around ten seconds or so. It was always good to stretch before a fight, and hey, it looked like they got this match in the bag, so he didn't have to attack right off the bat.
Action | Sent out Larvitar!

Her opponent sent out a Larvitar, a Pokemon she was familiar with seeing as how she is from Johto. Being a rock and dark type, Meili more or less had the slight advantage here. Then again, there was a risk. For one, the Larvitar had to hit her Croagrunk for her to do effective damage with Revenge. Maybe she'll wait on that and goad him into a false sense of security.
"Let's start! Du use Venoshock!" From the Croagunk's right middle finger, Du launched a purple blast of energy towards the Larvitar. True, it worked better when the opponent was poisoned and Meili had no method to do so at the moment, but none the less the attack should land for a decent hit on the Larvitar. Action: Du used Venoshock!

Oh, she was using a poison type move, that either meant one of two things. All her moves were poison, or she didn't know that Larvitar was resistant to poison. Well, either way, he had this thing in the bag. From what he knew a single Earthquake would take the girl's Croagunk out in moments! So, sitting down James gave Connor the Larvitar his next orders. "Alright alright Connor, we got this. No poison liquid like that gonna bother you! Now use those tiny feet of yours to make an earthquake!" He said, before the small Larvitar wiped some liquid from his face and began to stomp his feet. First it was his left, then his right, and then his left foot again that he stomped. With each stomp the ground rumbled more and more, it was as if an Earthquake was happening and they were all going to die.
Action | Larvitar used Earthquake. Stab, base power 100, x2 due to Croagunk's weakness to ground.

Meili watched as the attack made contact with the Larvitar. Okay, good, this should give him a false sense of security at the moment. It did rather poor damage but if she used Revenge out right then her opponent would hesitate to attack to avoid fulling the full brunt of Revenge. However...
"Alright alright Connor, we got this. No poison liquid like that gonna bother you! Now use those tiny feet of yours to make an earthquake!" Meili's eyes widened. The Larvitar stomped his feet enough to send large shockwaves across the ground. She raised her arms to shield herself from the chaos. When she lowered them, Du was on the ground unconscious. She winced at the sight.
"Return Du." Meili's plan more or less fell apart. She should've used Revenge from the beginning. However, with that Larvitar out. "Come out Ci!" Meili sent out her Horsea. She is taking a huge risk with her opponent being a Nature dorm student and might have a back up. None the less..."Use Brine!" The Horsea sent a torrent of salt water over at the Larvitar. Action: Ci used Brine!

He's got this in the bag, he already got one of his opponent's Pokemon down in a single move, and he was barely damaged! He was surely going to win this, but when Meli sent out her Horsea he wasn't so sure Connor was going to live a water move. Hastily he grabbed a Connor's Pokeball, along with another. Oh god, she told her Horsea to use Brine. With hasty movements he tried to switch Connor out for another one of his Pokemon, but he was too slow sadly, and the Connor got a face full of water for it. With a small thud the little ground and rock type hit the ground, before getting switched out. With a flash of red light a different Pokemon appeared, and this Pokemon was a Phantump.
"Alrighty, let's get this over with Lucifer, use Wood Hammer!" He said, before a green aura formed around the Phantump's hand. Moving through the air now the Phantump made its way towards the Horsea. Once close enough Lucifer brought down his mighty hand which was surrounded in a green aura, which dissipated after impact.
Action | Larvitar fainted, Phantump was sent out! Phantump used Wood hammer. Stab, base power of 120, x2 due to Horsea's water typing.

The torrent of water made contact and managed to defeat the Larvitar as expected. However, this was only just the beginning. The boy readied his second pokeball. Meili looked over at Ci. The Horsea was in good condition. Maybe she'd survive one attack if she was lucky. Just one good shot and being able to pull it off. That was all she needed at the moment. The boy sent out a ghost tree like Pokemon. Meili arched an eyebrow and took out her pokedex. Phantump, ghost and grass type.
"Alrighty, let's get this over with Lucifer, use Wood Hammer!" Meili winced as she watched the Phantump brought down a large green force down on the Horsea. She waited for the smoke to clear. Her eyes widened. Ci couldn't stand a chance. She was speechless. Fourth place...all that work and only fourth place...
"You deserve a well earned rest Ci." Meili took out her Pokeball and returned her Horsea. "T-thank you for the match." She bowed. Twice...twice she was obliterated in these matches.

Well, everything went as planned for this match, kind of. Honestly, just one hit on both of Meili's Pokemon and poof, they're out for the account. Seemed like he brought the right Pokemon to the tournament after all, which was really lucky, since he almost left his Larvitar behind for a Koffing. But that didn't really matter, or the thoughts on that matter didn't matter, uh, things were so confusing. With a click of a Pokeball James returned Lucifer, before walking across the battle field. Once close enough to Meili he outstretched his hand. "Nice match, and uh, if you feel bad don't. I would ha-" He said, pausing, he was about to say something he thought to be encouraging, but in reality it wouldn't have been encouraging in the slightest. "Good game, see you around?" He said, with a slight slight nod, yah, that was a good thing to say.
