The Zodiac Ruins, in their prime, had to have been quite impressive; she'd assumed by the name it would be filled with traps and treasures, a fun time for anyone, but what she'd instead found was a stately palatial sort of place, wracked with rot and ruin. There was a beauty to it, an austerity. Vivienne half wondered how many rookie trainers had traipsed through the same building, fighting battles against the new occupants. It was surprisingly heartwarming, to realize that Pokemon would always be ready to use what humanity had thrown away.
The Nature Dormer had been filling out her roster steadily since arriving; at first, she'd mainly searched the areas around her own dorm, predominantly the Garden of the Sun. Today, the aspiring trainer had been drawn by word of a Pokemon she was quite interested in. She carried a small electric lantern to augment the ambient light, casting a cool glow across the area around her. Oddly enough, none of her Pokemon were out of their 'balls on this little expedition; she wasn't going to take a chance having Marmalade run off again.
Preferred Spawn: Mawile. Mawile. Mawile. <3

The sound she heard sent a small chill up her spine as Vivienne passed a corridor; a Honedge was floating nearby, and while it stared her down she offered it a smile and hurried on her way. Ghost types were just as likely to enjoy mischief as her Fairies, but the possessed swords, from what she'd heard, seemed to love battle more so. Not to mention, despite how cool they were, they just didn't fit her style.
As such, Vivienne wound her way deeper into the Ruins keeping her eyes sharp for a rather particular steel type. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." Vivienne's voice echoed off of the shadowed walls and pillars as she continued her search.

As she passed a hall way, Vivienne's face lit up with a giant grin. Sitting on the bottom step of a crumbling staircase was the exact Pokemon she'd come looking for. The Mawile was adorable looking, but she'd read up on them enough to know it was all a ruse. Get too close to one, and it was liable to bite with it's second set of jaws formed by the massive horns growing out of the back of it's head.
"Hello pretty little lady." Vivienne said, setting the lantern down. The Mawile narrowed it's eyes and gave a slightly gruff noise, "Orrrrr, handsome boy?" She guessed, to which the deceiver Pokemon smiled. She didn't trust the grin on it's face, though it was heart melting. The perfect fit for her team, no doubt about that. All she needed to do was catch it first. Given the little guy's partial Steel typing, that was easier said than done. The majority of her Fairies relied on their fairy magic to fight, and the Mawile wouldn't take much damage from those sorts of tricks. Oh on, she needed to play it a little smarter.
"I think it's about time we show him what you can do, Palmier!" She called, releasing her Snubbull from her Pokeball; the dog blinked once, twice, then met the Mawile's gaze.
The pair squared off, the Snubbull's unrelenting gaze suddenly being matched by the Mawile twisting, baring his massive jaws. Both Pokemon's Intimidate ability in play? That would make it a more interesting battle. The Mawile moved first, darting forward, his hands clasped together, before throwing a Sucker Punch right in the Snubbull's face; Palmier fell back, but shrugged off the damage mostly. Vivienne had to love those Fairy resistances. "Don't take that from him Palmier, let's use Thunder Wave!" The Snubbull complied, launching a weak static electrical volt at the Mawile who became paralyzed.
Even with his priority Sucker Punch, the Mawile looked sluggish as tiny electrical discharges sparked across his body. When he tried to move, he seized up completely.
"All right, let's wrap this up quickly! Give him an Earthquake!" Vivienne called before shifting her footing. The Snubbull's little tan feet began what looked like a tap dance, but the ground beneath them erupted with seismic activity. Vivienne had fallen flat on her face when she'd worked on teaching the Snubbull the move, but she'd been more prepared this time, managing to ride out the waves and only winding up sliding into a partial split. The Mawile, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. His footing thrown completely out, he found himself face planting into the seismic damage that was super-effective to boot. He barely struggled up, moving forward and launching some sort of biting attack on the Snubbull.
"Let's put him down for the count Palmier and return the favor. Try that Fire Fang we've been working on, okay?" Vivienne called, avoiding a bit of rubble falling from the freshly shaken ceiling. The Snubbull, dropped from the Mawile's jaws and in pain, did as her trainer suggested though. Her tiny mouth filling with flame, she latched onto the Mawile's jaws, the blazing bite causing enough damage to send the poor creature down.
Vivienne pelted the falling Mawile with an Academy Ball, then scrambled up to stand and wait. {Battle Summary} Mawile's Intimidate lowers Snubbull's Attack 1 Stage! Snubbull's Intimidate lowers Mawile's Attack 1 Stage!
Mawile used Sucker Punch! It wasn't very effective. Snubbull used Thunder Wave! Mawile's Paralyzed! Mawile is paralyzed and unable to move! Snubbull used Earthquake! It's Supereffective! Mawile used Vicegrip! Snubbull used Fire Fang! It's Super effective! Mawile fainted!
Academy ball thrown!

Just remember to brush its teeth.
Even if it bites you, it likes it.
Deduct a ball.
