The Crawdfather (Sonia; Crawdaunt Mission)

Adolfina was not one to care too much for the beach, nor was she one that really desired to just get a tan. However, she was not against taking a mission that sounded interesting. Considering that the mission mentioned a fully-evolved Pokemon, a Crawdaunt to be exact, and recommended something “strong against” Water-types. Well, something like this was pretty much ideal for a Nature-dormer, then. She wanted to see how strong Pokemon in the wild could be when left to their own devices and achieving an evolution. Were they truly powerful? Or were they simply wild beasts lacking guidance still? Whatever the case, the blonde was ready.
The girl, clad in her uniform, had marched (or, rather, walked at a very relaxed pace) towards the beach. Water was weak to two types in particular. The first was Grass, and the second was Electric. As for the Crawdaunt, its second type was Dark. Dark was weak to Fighting, Fairy, and Bug. Grass was covered by her Whimsicott and Servine. Electric by her Pichu, even though she doubted it would be useful and left it at home. For Fighting, her Vibrava could cover the need with some Superpower. Fairy was covered, again, by her Whimsicott, proving it to be a hard-counter for the “boss” of the beach. Finally, Bug was countered by her Goldeen's Megahorn. As far as she was concerned, she was covered for this mission. It wasn't too hard to get some reliable allies for something like this, and, really? She was a Nature-dormer. To not be able to handle some fish would be pathetic.
Puffing her chest out, the blonde let out a laugh before starting to proceed down the path, and to the beach proper. -Active Party- Whimsicott (Required FE), Vibrava, Goomy, Servine, Eevee, Goldeen

Finally, there was a mission up for grabs that Sonia could take. She had been looking forward to this opportunity for a while now. Not only was this a chance to show how reliable she could be, it was a chance to make a difference for the academy and the island overall. Sure, some of the wardens could handle this problem without a second thought. For now though? It was Sonia's time to show what she was capable of. She made sure to show up with her full team of Pokemon ready to fight.
Her target for the mission seemed to be a Crawdaunt terrorizing the people of the beach. Now, Sonia wasn't particularly found of the beach after her first few visits. Things didn't exactly turn out as planned. Yet, here she was again, ready to take care of whatever needed fixing this time. She apparently had a partner for this mission too. They should honestly be around here unless they hadn't shown up yet. It only took the girl a few moments to notice the only other figure for a good ways down. Seriously. Sonia wasn't sure what to say or think when she saw her partner for the mission. There was no doubt this person was her partner. Walking over to her, the girl smiled before calling out to her. Fi! Over here! This girl's name wasn't Fi. Well, it might become a nickname at least; assuming it stuck and the recipient let it stick. This girl's real name was Adolfina, which in Sonia's opinion was too much of a mouthful. Seems that you're going to be my partner for this mission. Since we're already acquainted, let's skip the formalities and get down to buisness, shall we? The girl smirked as she turned her attention from the other girl towards the various holes in the sand. Somewhere, their target was hiding. Active Party: Breloom, Lairon, Growlithe, Totodile, Larvitar, Clauncher

Along the beach, there seems to be various holes scattered throughout. As mentioned in the mission description, the Crawdaunt as well as its "subordinates" decided to burrow into the sand while they weren't terrorizing the beach. It seems you'll need to get them out of there somehow. Hopefully without causing too much of a problem and waking up all the Pokemon at once. Luckily, it seems the first few targets have made their way out of their hole. Perfect timing. Ability: Hustle Gender: Male • Earth Power • Iron Defense • Power Gem • Bubblebeam Ability: Rain Dish Gender: Male • Iron Defense • Rain Dance • Aqua Tail • Protect

The blonde only blinked when white noise reached her ears. Was there truly some student wandering about without a concern when there was supposed to be a threat wandering about? How cocky and brave. Endearing, even. The girl turned, and then things gradually came together in her head. “Fi” was supposed to be referring to her? Or was it some form of accent or customary greeting? Actually, that was more likely. This person was certainly odd, so that only lent credence to such a theory. With a mental “Ah”, the blonde found herself pleased. Sonia appeared to be her partner for the mission. Well, she didn't really need a partner, but she wasn't going to waste the energy to drive away someone else- especially not when they still served a purpose.
”Certainly. This is better addressed quickly.” She calmly cast aside the idea of socializing and instead focused on the chore at hand. When the two Pokemon crawled from their hiding spots, no different from rodents of the sand, the blonde found herself puffing her chest out with a degree of amusement and confidence. Truly, such “opponents” would be vanquished before her like ashes scattered to the wind. Reaching for her balls, the girl released her Servine, Lempo. Water versus Grass, weaklings versus her personal crop. The end result was already determined, and with little issue.
”Strugatskaya, I'll battle the turtle.” She declared with a clear note of finality before she and the Servine closed on the Squirtle. ”Lempo, Growth.” A simple and effective means of increasing their offensive strength, Growth boosted the Servine's offensive capabilities totally- both physically and specially. The opponent responded by withdrawing into its shell, apparently expecting an attack. The attempt of “Protecting” itself was a failure. After all, without an attack to defend against, there was no point.
”Again. Growth.” The Servine pulsed and wriggled as vine-like extensions sprouted from his body, seeming as if they were trying to drill into the sand to find nutrients. The turtle, realizing that it misread its opponent, glowed slightly, seeming to enhance its physical defense. Normally, this would be mildly problematic, given that its defenses seemed to increase dramatically. However, Lempo was not limited to a single class of attacks. No, this Servine was capable of many different avenues of offense.
”Now, Giga Drain.” The opponent was effectively a sitting duck. There was no means of counteracting the excessive drain of life force the plant-snake had siphoned from the turtle. Due to the increase of power from Growth, as well as the weakness to Grass due to being a Water-type, the Squirtle collapsed into a quivering mass. Whether it was unconscious or not was beyond her and outside of her concerns. What was obvious was that it was no longer capable of combat, meaning that all was well.

Fi seemed to be more than satisfied with Sonia's choice of words. Getting right into it would get them paid faster and make them look good while doing it. Very quickly, their first opponents showed up for the battle. And before Sonia could utter a word, she was already being ushered off to the other Pokemon. Well, she had no issues with it. Either way, the Pokemon were going down. Strelka, come out! Head Smash that rock thing! With the toss of a Pokeball, Sonia's Lairon popped into the battle before ramming into the Corsola.
However, in return, it attacked Strelka with something rather powerful Something that it wasn't used to getting hit with. A strange brown beam hit it, dealing massive damage. Managing to hold on just barely, Strelka waited for an order, or to be returned. It honestly didn't know which would be coming. Sonia noticed how strong the attack was. She could only assume it had exploited a major weakness. Strelka, go in for Rock Head one more time! You should have this! With a limp dash, the Lairon rammed into the Corsola, sending it into the air before landing headfirst into the sand. It wouldn't be getting up after that.
After that, she quickly returned Strelka to her ball. She wouldn't be able to handle another fight after that. Turning back to Fi, she noticed that she had already finished her fight. I think we got them. But the leader still isn't here.

With the defeat of those two Pokemon, more Pokemon began to rise out from under the ground like zombies in a bad movie. All of them seemed to want a piece of the two of you! This can't be good. Well, not that you're worrying or anything. Without further ado, the enemies: Ability: Regenerator Gender: Male • Psychic • Water Pulse • Rain Dance • Slack Off Ability: Damp Gender: Female • Water Pulse • Zen Headbutt • Hydro Pump • Wonder Room Ability: Ice Body Gender: Male • Sheer Cold • Blizzard • Aurora Beam • Body Slam Ability: Water Absorb Gender: Male • Earthquake • Muddy Water • Haze • Yawn

”Then we keep looking. That's all there is to it.” Adolfina calmly noted before returning the Servine to his ball. ”Keep looking. Or let them come to us. It seems that it will play out that way.” She noted as more Pokemon began to crawl from holes. Truly, they were like disgusting little pests. They were better off taking refuge in the waves. Either way, she noted the opponents as they came, deciding which to battle almost as soon as she saw them.
”I'll take the tadpole and the sloth. You can have the duck and seal. Neptune, Megahorn! Limos, Crunch!” She released the Pokemon already-facing their targets. There was no need for them to question or wonder if it was the intent. The Goldeen “floated” forward on a blast of water before viciously stabbing the Slowpoke with his horn. In response, the opponent shot a blast of water, which was easily taken given Goldeen's resistance to Water-type attacks. On the other side, Limos buzzed and shot forward like a bullet, chomping down on the tadpole of a Wooper. The damage was not enough to put it down, but that was fine. In response, the Wooper blasted a gush of dirty, muddy water at the Vibrava. Nothing terrible, given the part-Dragon typing.
”Neptune, return! Limos, finish them both with Earthquake!” The blonde recalled her Goldeen, watching as the Vibrava drove her body at the sands and caused a tremor, which did the Wooper and Slowpoke both in, thanks to the earlier attacks. Of course, the tremor would likely have caused some more Pokemon to come out to play, but that was fine, as far as she was concerned. After all, they needed to find the boss.

Right after the two of them managed to take out the first set of enemies, a new, even larger set appeared. How fun. And much like the last set, Sonia was given her share of the fight in the form of a verbal command. Sonia wasn't one for taking orders for no reason, but she had little reason to complain. If they were getting things done, why worry? Alright, I got this. Dasha, Belka, come on out! Sending out two more Pokemon, Sonia targeted the duck and the seal Pokemon. One of her Pokemon was a fire type, so she knew that things wouldn't be particularly easy for her. Not to mention her other Pokemon had a x4 weakness to water. She wasn't exactly in a fight that was beneficial. Dasha, Flare blitz on the seal, Belka, use Stone Edge! The two Pokemon went after their targets with each attack picked out, each one landing strong hits.
The two Pokemon that had been attacked made their counter. The seal Pokemon went for an ice attack against the Growlithe, but didn't seem very effective. The duck Pokemon however, landed a water attack that struck Sonia's Larvitar down for the count. Belka, return. Nestor, use Bite on that duck! Dasha, Flare Blitz again! Sending out her Totodile, Sonia went for a second set of attacks. Dasha went for the fainting blow on the seal, while Nestor bit the Psyduck one more time. Surprisingly, that seemed like just enough to do the two of them in. Alright! My side is clear. Sonia turned to Fi once more, her team of two still out. They seemed to be in good fighting condition still. That was good, considering that the boss had yet to show itself.

With the majority of the group taken care of, everything seemed calm again. But just as one would think so, two more enemies pop out from the sand! They seem to be much stronger than the ones you faced prior. Well, no shit. One of them is the boss. The other is uh. . . its mate or something? Idunno. Ability: Adaptability Gender: Male [/div] • Guillotine • Sword Dance • Crabhammer • Night Slash Ability: Mega Launcher Gender: Female [/div] • Dark Pulse • Dragon Pulse • Aura Sphere • Water Pulse

”As is mine. It shouldn't be too difficult to find the boss at this rate.” She noted with a slow nod before noticing the two new figures arising from the sands. She returned the Vibrava, preparing her final three balls and releasing her Eevee, Goomy, and Whimsicott. ”I'll handle the boss. I have type-superiority. You handle his friend.” She declared once more, having absolutely zero qualms with attacking a lone enemy with three Pokemon. And, frankly, why should she? It was supposed to be dangerous. There was nothing wrong with a little excessive firepower for the sake of safety.
”Zeus, Double-edge! Erubetie, Dragon Pulse! Diablo, finish with Moonblast!” While the target was physically-defensive, and her Eevee wasn't too powerful, the Double-edge was pretty powerful, and even had the same-type booster. The Eevee drove his body into the oversized crayfish was no mercy before twirling and stumbling away. The slimy dragon, bless her heart, sludged forward before spewing a blast of specially-offensive energy, which slammed into the Crawdaunt. It wasn't specially-defensive, so that'd leave a mark. Of course, the first two attackers were just there to weaken the opponent. The real threat was Diablo. The Whimsicott danced in before charging up and firing off a blast of lunar energy, which completely wrecked the Crawdaunt, leaving it in a twitching pile of seafood.
”And so it ends.” She declared before throwing one of her new balls at the Crawdaunt. While she did not plan to use it as a member of her team, the Pokemon would serve as a testament to a mission complete. After that? She could keep it, show it off as a trophy, or sell it, and make a profit off of it. Either way, she won, regardless of the odds and the circumstances of the battle. Then it was just time to wait for that ball to click.

Fi seemed to be done her fight as well. Just in time for the final round of enemies to show up. It was clearly the finale only because the boss of the enemies showed up. Sonia decided that rather than recalling her Pokemon, she'd send out another one. Roundabout, come out! Now. Dasha, Crunch! Nestor, Bite! Roundabout, Seed Bomb! With the three attacks sent out all at once, the enemy Pokemon was probably nowhere near prepared for the fight. Honestly? It should have fought with its brethren. At least it would have stood a chance rather than hiding behind its comrades.
And so, with one fell swoop, the enemy Clawitzer fell. There was nothing that could prepare it for such a beating. But even still? Sonia decided to take this Pokemon as her own. She sensed strength from it, even if it was cowardly enough to hide behind its comrades. And so, the girl threw her last academy ball at the target, letting the ball capture it.
Finally, she turned to see Fi had done something similar wo her. The girl could only smile in response. Nice job, Fi. I didn't take you for a fighting type. Gahaha. Seeing this other girl fight on such a level was honestly a little surprising. Honestly, she wasn't sure who would win in a fight between the two of them. It might be close. Though, Sonia honestly shouldn't have been too surprised. They were nearly the same age. At least, she assumed so even still. More importantly, their mission was completed.

”Why are you still using that greeting? We've already acknowledged each other's presence. We're leaving now, with the job done.” She commented before plucking up the ball that contained the Crawdaunt. Then, returning the other three Pokemon, she put the balls away into her pouch. Then, looking to Sonia, she just stared. ”But of course I'm strong. I plan to grow stronger and stand above even the Wardens and teachers. And then I'll leave, strong enough to stand proudly with my father.” This mongrel did not need to know of her motivations, but she was in a good enough mood that she didn't mind going on about it slightly.
”The mission is over, and we have our proof. We should return and receive our payments.” She calmly noted before proceeding back the way she came. The deed was done. She could return would pride and receive her payment with confidence. She was, honestly, very pleased.

That greeting? Sonia blinked, confused as to what the blonde was talking about. Either way, it seemed that the girl was intent on leaving with the mission completed. Sonia was certainly all for that, of course. But before they could set off, the other girl turned around, stating her intentions for the academy. She wanted to become strong; stronger than the wardens, than the teachers, and stand by her father proudly with that strength. Honestly, is was a bit like her own plans. Could this girl also have the same plans of building a harem? If so, this girl wasn't someone to sweep off their feet, claim as a wife, and impregnate. Not at all. She was someone Sonia might want to consider a "comrade." With a smile, Sonia followed after the girl who began to walk ahead. Alright! Let's go together, comrade.
