Lovely weather for a battle [Battle vs Tanya]

Aki walked into the Battle Arena, registering his pokemon then walking into the assigned field. Walking into the arena he saw that it was the same field that he had won the first round of the tournament. It was against a Water Dorm girl named Annie. She was a nice girl from the little bit they talked during the battle. But Aki was too busy winning the match to talk. This time he had a battle against another Water Dormer. What he had read in the information, hr name is Tanya and she lost in he simi-finals in the Expert Tournament. So he had a battle ahead of him. He took his place on the side he was assigned and waited for her to show up. He started to play with his first Pokémon ball.

Registering the pokemon she was going to use in this battle, Tanya walked into the battlefield. Interested to see what her opponnet, the second place winner of the beginners tournament, had to offer. She didn't bring Pippa along this time, not wanting her to have a freakout like she did in her battle against Vivi. Instead, she had Flect floating alongside her, ready to battle.

Once she got to the arena, she walked to her designated location. Nodding her head towards Flect, she sent the pokemon out to the battlefield. "So you're the guy who came second in the Beginner's Tournament." Tanya called out, crossing her arms before huffing. "I expect a good match. I hope you don't disappoint me." Smirking, she gestured over towards her Bronzor.

"That's my starting pokemon. You choose yours. Will you permit me to take the first action?"

Tanya's Team: Flect the Bronzor, Brianna the Zorua, Wally the Munchlax

Hearing the door open he looked up and saw a girl walk in. She had next to her a floating mirror, well that's what it appeared to be. But Aki knew it was a Pokémon. And that it was likely going to be her first one. Aki pondered whether or not to use the one he was going to use. He was almost certain that it had levitate as the ability. So that would me that Missy would be almost useless in this match up. Then there was Penelope, she did know a move that would be effective against it but not very. It would be better when she evolves into a Fletchinder. But he was going to risk it. "Yes, I am the one that took second in the Beginners tournament. I read you made it go the semifinals in the expert tournament. This should be an interesting battle. I won't let you down, little one." Switching balls to Penelope, he clicked the button then held out the ball and clicked again releasing the tiny robin pokemon. She fluttered a few moments and then landed. Penelope tilted her head looking at the Bronzor. "By all means, ladies first."

Tanya watched as the trainer sent out a Fletchling. Luckily for her, it didn't have the fire typing yet and Tanya knew that the typing would make the battle much harder for her. She didn't know what to expect from the second place winner, so her face was focused, her brows furrowed as she prepared herself for the battle.

"Begin with Nasty Plot!" Tanya called out, wondering how the other trainer was going to react to the move. The Bronzor on the battlefield narrowed their eyes, cackling lightly and leering at the Fletchling, hatching menacing schemes in its mind, harshly raising its Special Attack stat. A faint smirk appeared on her face as she watched the battle progress.

Action: Flect used Nasty Plot! Flect's Special Attack rises Sharply!

It was going to be a uphill battle on this one. Aki needed to think smart and defensively though he didn't have any moves such as that. Then he remembered one move that Fletchling had that could be very useful. While Aki thought of the strategy, Penelope looked on puzzled at what the Bronzor was doing. The tiny robin hadn't never been in a battle before and therefore didn't know what to expect form her opponent. Once the mirror looking Pokémon finished doing what it was doing Aki folded his arms. His muscles flexing in his tight fitting short sleeve shirt. "Alright, show that Bronzor some Acrobatics." The Fletching started to to preform stunts and other acrobatics.

Once the Bronzor was hit by the attack, something odd began to happen. The image started to phase in and out, changing between the Bronzor form and a small black creature. Eventually, the illusion completely faded away to reveal a Zorua in the place of the Bronzor.

"Guess that cat's out the bag now, huh?" Tanya admitted, giggling slightly before speaking in a very loud voice. "Oh well, at least the illusion got the job done. Now then, Brianna, attack with Dark Pulse!" Gathering dark energy in front of her, Brianna howled into the air, shooting out a large purple beam of darkness at the Fletchling. Tanya cracked her knuckles, looking darkly serious about the battle. She wasn't going to lose.

Action: Flect turned out to be Brianna using the power of Illusion! Brianna attacks with Dark Pulse!

After Penelope was done attacking the Bronzor it started to flicker. Then where the Bronzor was, was now a Zorua. He had faced one before. This was the Pokémon that won the tournament for Benji. This time Aki didnt have his Doublade, which was a Honedge at the time of the tournament. He despised the dark type menace, he would see nothing better than to get ride of it as quickly as possible. It didn't startle Aki as bad as it did his Fletchling, she was blind sided by the Dark Pulse that the Zorua unleashed. With the Nasty Plot that was established the Dark Pulse finished of the Fletching. Signing he returned the bird. "You'll get them next time."

Aki said pulling the pokemon he was wanting to save till last but he had no choice. His other choice had no effect on the Dark Type fox. Clicking the ball twice he held it out and a golden Nosepass appeard with a huge thud in front of the time fox. "Tanya, meet Missy. Brianna meet a Rock Slide"

Tanya frowned at Akihiko's next pokemon. Nosepass was a pain in her ass. Hopefully she could stall out the fight with her Bronzor, but she had the feeling that the battle will be reduced to the two of them pathetically whacking each other with weak hits due to their high defenses and resistances. Returning Brianna to her pokeball, she got out another pokeball.

"Guess I'll show you the real deal." Tanya stated, opening her pokeball and revealing the actual Bronzor, Flect. Floating in the air, he blankly stared at the Nosepass, betraying no sense of emotion. "Use Iron Defense." Tanya called out, knowing that she had to take every advantage she could get. Shaking slightly, the Bronzor began to shine bright blue, its surfaces becoming reflective and stronger, to the point where light glistened off of its body.

"This could probably take a while." She called out to Akihito, biting her lip.

Action: Brianna fainted! Flect the Bronzor sent out! Flect used Iron Defense! Sharply raises Defense Stat.

It was a weight off of his shoulders when the Zorua fainted. But as he thought he had a reprieve, Tanya sent out the actual Bronzor. He had been studying other Steel type Pokémon lately, he had one with his Doublade and he will soon will when Missy evolves into a Probopass. The main characteristic of a steel type is its high defense. Just was with rock and groundtypes. So with both of them having a high defense pokemon out the fight could drag on a while. Then Tanya add insult to injury when she used Iron Defense.

Aki took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I think you're right. But it going to be a hard fought one from me." Akihito shifted his weight on his left foot and called out a move. "Alright Missy, show that Bronzor your Rock Slide" Like before he had a feeling the Bronzor had Levitate as its a ability so Earth Power was out of the question. Even though it would make quick work of the mirror.

When the attack hit, the Bronzor barely registered the attack hitting it. In fact, it took nearly no damage from the attack, staring forwards and waiting for an order from Tanya. "I'm not giving up either." Tanya told Akihito, trying to come up with a strategy for the battle.

"Use Confuse Ray Flect!" Tanya ordered, realizing that it was going to have to take strategy on her part to make this battle manageable. Closing its eyes, yellow orbs began to spiral around Flect. When it opened its eyes wide, the orbs flew towards the Nosepass, spiraling hastily around it before exploding in its face, confusing the pokemon with the bright lights.

"Damn" Aki said under his breath. The attack didn't do hardly any damage and the flinch didn't get trigger. This could be bad for the Nosepass. Missy was holding her ground and was waiting for the Bronzor to make a move. When Tanya answered back with a Confuse Ray Akihito knew that she was a defensive player. Wanted to make Missy take herself out. He knew that if Missy hit herself it would do more damage if she was it by her opponent. There was no way around it and Espurr would be no better than Missy. So Aki did the only thing he could do. "Missy, try a Rock Slide" Once Aki call for the attack he hoped for the best. He just didn't think he was going to come out of this one the victor.

A little disappointed that she didn't manage to get the Nosepass to hit itself, Tanya realized that going for the SE attack may not be the best option. Nosepass had stupidly high physical defense and while they had decent special defense, it was probably better for her to attack that way than to try hitting it with a move that wasn't strong as Heavy Slam relied on weight.

"Flect, use Extrasensroy." Tanya called out, watching as Flect's eyes began to flash on and off, its psychic powers activating as it used unseeable powers to manipulate the Nosepass' body, trying to inflict as much damage on the pokemon as it could. She had to admit, she was getting surprising mileage out of Flect and its moves.

The battle had already felt like it had gone on forever. Aki watched as his Nosepass didn't hit herself and hit even managed to hit the Bronzor with the Rock Slide. But yet again it didn't trigger the flinch. That was going to be the key to winning this round. He had to by pass the confusion and actually hit the damn thing to even get a chance to have the most annoying Pokémon he had faced yet. He'd rather be pinched by that Krabby again than face this but Aki wasn't the type to give up, neither was his team.

Watching as the Bronzor named Flect was given the command to use Extrasensory, Aki pondered what the move was going to do. He watched his opponents Pokémon psychically attack Missy. It did very little damage but it was doing more damage than Missy was. Aki took a deep breath and called out to Missy. "I'm counting on you. Give him another Rock Slide." The Shiny Nosepass got ready to attack.

The Nosepass managed to hit itself. That was good, she was making progress, even if it was incredibly small progress. She should've brought her Mawile, at least then the battle would go by quicker. However, she had to live with the decisions she made. She tried to keep her patience up, watching as they pathetically attacked each other.

"Extrasensory again." Tanya commanded, watching as the Bronzor went into action, using its psychic powers to inflict some more damage. Even when she saw the move, she never understood how it worked. Maybe Flect was just weird like that. Its yard-long stare never faltered and Tanya felt like it was giving off some creepy vibes.

"Probopass are interesting pokemon." Tanya called out, deciding that conversation was better than just sitting in pure silence. "Actually faced a Probopass user in the tournament. Somehow managed to win that one. What type of pokemon did you face in your tournament?"

Aki cringed as the Nosepass hit herself with the Rock Slide. It was not going to and well for Aki but he was going to give it his all. He had to remember though he was going up against someone from the expert tournament. Their skill are a lot better than his are. It was understandable because he had never battled before coming to the Academy. All he knew was how to take care of pokemon and breed them. As he thought about the problems he was having g with the battle Tanya attack again with Extrasensory. Again Missy did not flinch from the attack which was good but not it was his turn to go on the offensive. Then Tanya spoke breaking the tension.

He listen to her speak, she spoke of facing Missy's evolved form in one of her matches in the tournament. Aki thought the two that gave him the most trouble was Benji's Zorua and Tyrunt. "Interesting, the two that gave me the most trouble were the finals. His team was a Zorua and a Tyrunt. My Nosepass was taken out my his Tyrunt and my Honedge, at the time, was no match from his Zorua once it came out." He had a hard time remebering the match because he was trying to suppress that memory. "But lets try another Rock Slide Missy." The golden Nosepass prepared to do something.
