Oleg versus Adolfina [Adolfina, battle]

Oleg twitched a bit as he woke from his slumber, one of the students poking him and telling him it was his turn. Well dammit, he had seemed to fall asleep on his chair. He stretched, rising up as he slowly exited the waiting room, entering the dome as he waited for his random opponent. He tapped his foot slightly as he examined the dome to make use of everything he could find. It seemed rather basic in structure, and the walls were, of course, reinforced. There were not that many natural advantages to pokemon of any types, and he liked it that way. Simple and easy to understand.

A certain thing needed to be understood in regards to battling. Choosing an opponent was no different from giving them a form of special treatment- regardless of whether it was positive or negative. For reasons like that, Adolfina was a bit hesitant to directly challenge another person. It wasn't that she was afraid- far from it, truthfully- but that she did not want to be seen as giving another special attention. Random, blind matchups gave her a chance to indulge and test herself while refraining from giving preferential treatment. As a plus side, even if, on the off chance, that she lost, she could always find an excuse.
After being notified that a match was ready, the girl headed to the dome, oozing with confidence. Even if it was her virgin battle, even if her heart was pounding with anticipation, she was sure she could do well. She captured most of the Pokemon she had chosen to use that day. Whether they loved her or not was irrelevant. The fact of the matter was that she made them loyal to her. As the blonde stepped in, her "golden" orbs fell on her opponent. Even if he wasn't noteworthy, it was only proper and fair to remember the face of an opponent. Blonde. Plain. Tall. Male. She had a faint feeling that suggested she'd seen him somewhere before, but. . . it obviously wasn't important.
"You're to be my opponent, then?" She opened up with a tilt of the head. No vocabulary errors yet. "Do you wish to go first, or would you have me attack?" She asked while reaching to her waist pouch, where her balls were. It was a simple enough question. And how he responded would ultimately determine the first step of the battle. "Ladies first, I would say." He nodded his head slightly, examining the little lady. He had seen her somewhere, but he could not exactly remember. Oh well, it was not probably that important anyway. He moved his left hand to his belt, patting one of the balls as he prepared himself for anything that would come. He still examined the girl. Young, hell, she was probably as young as the academy would allow. Her uniform's color hinted that she was part of the nature dorm. Hm, this will be interesting. Her eyes were the last thing Oleg really examined. Golden. A rare case, but nothing too big to care about.
Team: Electabuzz, Nosepass, Pawniard and Swablu

It seemed the plain-looking man at least had some decency. How pleasant. If that was the case, then she would take the first shot. She gripped the first of four balls prepared, retracted it, and tossed it forward with an underhand throw. The ball split, light emerged, and a buzzing could be heard. An almost insectoid- specifically, like a dragonfly- dragon appeared, buzzing in the air. It was a Vibrava, the second stage of Trapinch. While its raw power was notably smaller than Trapinch's, Vibrava wasn't too bad, and the rest of its parameters all went up a bit. This Vibrava, Limos, was one of the blonde's two starting Pokemon. Naturally, she had a great deal of faith in it.
"Limos, Earthquake!" She calmly ordered, thrusting her hand forward. Her opponent was going to send something out, so it was best to hit hard. The dragonfly ascended slightly before slamming into the ground, creating a small tremor! Action: Vibrava utilized Earthquake; 100 BP, STAB boosted to 150; it's backed by a base attack stat of 70 Note: Earthquake has 100% accuracy, so no need to roll for accuracy.

Oleg grunted a bit as the dragonfly pokemon was released. He quickly tested himself in what type it was. Dragon was the main part that he cared about. Ge grinned as the earthquake begun to shook the ground of the dome as he reached for his belt, throwing the ball as it released Rinnie the swablu. The bird let out a coo as it noticed the dragonfly, flying around, completely avoiding the earthquake. Oleg smirked to himself, pointing his finger at the Vibrava, yelling to Rinnie. "Alright, use Moonblast!"
Rinnie let out a loud coo as she begun to collect energy into it's beak, charging it for a while as it then let out a even louder coo, launching the pink blob of energy towards the Vibrava.
Action: Swablu used Moonblast: 95 BP, Super effective, backed by special attack base of 40. Note: Has 100% accuracy, BUT has 30% chance to lower special attack by one stage.

The blonde clicked her tongue when the boy released a Swablu. Had they both sent their Pokemon out, as opposed to one attacking first, they would have had an equal playing ground. As things were, she wasted an attack, and now she needed to decide if it was worth trying to take the attack and returning with something else, or just outright switching to save one of her more versatile attackers. Frankly, it would be safer to have the Vibrava attack only if it was a guaranteed finisher. However, having to take a super-effective attack was not worth the risk. Hopefully he didn't just have a full crew of Fairies. If that was the case, then she'd just regret having not brought her Whimsicott.
"Switch out, Limos! Take it, Lempo!" She returned the Vibrava to the safety of its ball before sending out the Snivy to take the Fairy-aligned attack. The Snivy was slammed, but he was definitely okay. He was fairly durable to begin with, and not actually being weak to Fairy put him leagues ahead of Limos in this match-up. While Pichu might have been a better check, she wasn't entirely sure if it'd be able to take the hit, and the Goomy was out of the question.
The girl just clicked her tongue as the Snivy gained a chance to observe his surroundings. Once he was sure they were really fighting, his stance became a bit more ready. Action: Swapped out Vibrava for Snivy; allowed it to take the neutral Fairy attack; unable to attack due to having switched

Oleg smirked a bit. He had gotten some free damage in, and hell, ladies first had gotten him the minor advantage. He then scratched his chin for a moment, consdering his options, before deciding it would be best to keep Swablu out. He then calculated all the chances in his mind for a few seconds before stomping the ground, pointing to the snivy and yelling to Rinnie once more. "Okay, another Moonblast!"
Rinnie let out another chirp, keeping her high altitude as she aimed at the snivy, gathering energy to her break before firing a large blob of pink energy at the grass snake pokemon.
Action: Swablu used Moonblast: 95 BP, backed by special attack base of 40. Note: Has 30% chance of lowering special attack by one stage.

Naturally, her opponent showed no mercy and continued to attack with Moonblast. Was it the only attack available? Or was it simply the most effective, given the circumstances? Either way, switching to half of her team was a generally bad idea, all things considered. The Snivy did not move. He heard no order, so he braced himself as the blast of pink washed over him. Afterward, he was visibly in pain, but not out. He could still stand. One more, though, or perhaps two, if they were lucky, and he'd be out. In other words, it was time to make the absolute best out of the Snivy's moves. The opponent was clearly a Flying-type, but there was something else. The girl couldn't remember, and it wasn't like she had the time to verify it. Flying resisted Grass, but not Normal. Even with the attack having weakened the Snivy's strength, there was a still a special move he could use that would be especially powerful, considering the Swablu hadn't been touched.
"Lempo, use Wring Out!" The Snivy stood straight before lunging at the Swablu, trying to constrict it! Action: Snivy used Wring Out; (Base Power is 120*[target current HP/target max HP], or 120, given that Swablu is at full health), backed by a base Sp Atk of 45 Notes: Snivy has a -1 to Special Attack, setting it at 66.7%

Oleg blinked as the grass snake literally LEAPED up and wrapped itself around Rinnie, leading the poor bird to flap around as it got squeezed. It then let out a faint chirp, slowly dropping down, carrying the snivy with it. Oleg gritted his teeth, pondering for a moment. The snivy DID seem to be on it's last legs, but who knows what could happen. He then pushed his glasses upwards, letting out a sigh as he pointed at the snivy. "Okay, use moonblast! One more should do it!"
Rinnie let out a loud coo, slowly getting free from the tight embrace of the snivy as it then flew high up, gathering energy... Before launching the blob of energy at it. Again.
Action: Swablu used Moonblast: 95 BP, backed by special attack base of 40.
Note: Has 30% chance of lowering special attack by one stage.

The attack connected, so, at the very least, the Swablu was weakened. On the other hand, the thing was ready to attack again. Lempo was a lost cause. Still, he was useful in at least weakening the thing somewhat. As the pink blast of energy surged forward, the girl had to consider exactly what to send out next. Limos could likely finish the target off with Rock Slide. Even if she didn't, there was a chance it'd stun the bird long enough to finish the job safely. Even if the bird survived, a sacrificial swap-out could still be performed. She didn't quite trust the Pichu to finish this thing in one go, and the Goomy was better saved for later. With a note of finality, she nodded to herself.
"Limos, it's time. Rock Slide!" She ordered, returning the unconscious Snivy and sending back out the Vibrava. Then, seeming to magically produce rocks, the oversized dragonfly sent a few large boulders into the air, which then began to drop down at the Swablu! Action: Rock Slide; 75 BP, backed by a base attack of 70; 2x effectiveness due to Rock-typing. 90% accuracy, 30% chance of flinch. Notes: Snivy has been knocked unconscious and will not be used again during the match. Replaced with Vibrava. GmSZA26_1-10If 1-9, Rock Slide hits. 1-10If 1-3, and Rock Slide hits, but somehow doesn't finish the target off, target will Flinch. 1-10·1-10

Oleg gritted his teeth as the vibrava was sent out and it begun to summon rocks. What could he do, really? Just switch out and let something else take the hit? No... Rinnie had served her purpose for this match, he felt. He raised his thumb up to the bird pokemon... Right before it got hit by the rocks, being practically crushed under them and falling down. He then called the poor bird back, stroking his chin for a moment before grabbing Hoare's pokeball, throwing it as the Nosepass was sent out. "Alright, I'll show you! Hoare, use Rock slide!"
Hoare spun around for a few moments, chunks of rock magically appearing in the air. The rock's nose then suddenly nudged down, causing the rocks to fall onto the vibrava.
Action: Rock Slide; 75 BP, backed by a base attack of 45, STAB, 90% accuracy, 30% chance of flinch.
Notes: Swablu knocked out, will not be used during the match anymore. Switched out for nosepass.

One down, three to go. Essentially the same as her own situation. The boy then sent out a large rock, ordering the same attack that she had. Vibrava, being part-Ground, resisted Rock, so the attack wouldn't be as dangerous as it would be on, say, the Pichu. Even with its flinch chance, what would the chances be of it having that effect twice? Vibrava wasn't that easy to take down, on top of that. The fear of Fairy-based moves was there for a reason, but this would be easier to take. For that reason, she opted to take the attack.
"Limos, take it, then return with Earthquake!" She ordered, and the dragonfly braced herself before being pelted with rocks. On top of that, the dragon shuddered before steadying itself. It flinched. What bothersome luck. The girl clicked her tongue, but she wasn't too bothered. She knew they'd have their chance, given time. Action: lolno; Flinch took effect, so no action can be taken

Oleg grunted. Well. He had just thought that the vibrava would take the hit, spit it back, and then nearly crush poor Hoare. Seems like he was in luck. He pumped his fist into the air, followed with Hoare doing a small spinning motion, floating in the air as it did so. He then pointed at the dazed Vibrava. "Rock slide again!"
Hoare continued it's floating spin dance from the underworld, spinning and spinning and spinning, creating rocks from thin air as it then begun to drop them on the poor vibrava, letting out a faint humming noise. Just what was that floating nose thinking while dropping those rocks?
Action: Rock Slide; 75 BP, backed by a base attack of 45, STAB, 90% accuracy, 30% chance of flinch.

The opponent did not waste time. Naturally, they unleashed another Rock Slide, likely pinning their hopes on another chance of the dragon flinching. The girl really found it annoying, but, at the same time, she was aware that the situation was not that bad, all things considered. The dragon took the second wave of rocks just as well as the first. No, even better, given that she did not flinch. In other words, they were good to go for the next wave. Depending on the turnout, she could potentially let Limos remain out.
"Limos, Earthquake this time! Take it down!" The dragonfly fluttered upwards before throwing herself to the ground, causing a new tremor! Action: Earthquake; 100 BP, STAB to 150, 2x modifier due to type-effectiveness; backed by a base attack of 70 Note: No rolls due to 100% accuracy and a lack of secondary effects.

Oleg gritted his teeth. Well, his luck did not last long now, did it. He watched in horror as Hoare shook around for a moment before simply anticlimaticly flopping down onto his back. He then slowly grew a grin, remembering something. Sturdy. He watched as Hoare slowly floated up from it's awkward lying down possition, spinning itself around for a moment before preparing for another attack. "Alright, rock slide, one more time!"
Hoare spun only once this time, creating three larger rocks as he then sent them falling onto the Vibrava, seemingly humming louder and more aggressively this time.
Action: Rock Slide; 75 BP, backed by a base attack of 45, STAB, 90% accuracy, 30% chance of flinch. Note: Sturdy activated!
