Librarium of Ghosts [Open]

The library sounded like a good place to study on the paranormal and other creepy stuff. Considering that she hailed from a city where ghosts were common, it was no surprise that she loved ghosts. It was about time that the ghost sword can get some fresh air in the library as well, so she released Isabeau from her Pokeball. Out came a sword with a blue tassel attached it and she blinked in response. She sat down at a table and Isabeau floated next to her, curious about what her trainer would read in this huge library. There was a book on a table, apparently left there by some untidy student, but what interested her was the title. Turning some of the pages, she realized that this book talked about some of the paranormal stuff happening in some parts of the Pokemon world. That information mostly described the incident in Lavender Town and there were some information about some ghost type specialists and masters. Seems interesting enough, considering that she had wanted to be a ghost type specialist someday.

Hmm? There seemed to be a blonde-haired teen that asked her if he could sit here. "Sure, I don't mind. There's plenty of room here." The floating ghost sword blinked at his direction, but didn't see anything wrong. Libraries were pretty quiet, so disturbances were not common except for anyone who likes to make a lot of noise. And this was actually a good opportunity to make friends with another person, let alone a student from another dorm. "So, may I ask what brings you here to the library today?" While the female ghost sword was relaxing near her and actively trying to make out the letters in the book, Alice could tell that he was actually from another dorm due to the different colors of his uniform. Well, blue was a very pretty color and some students that she had seen in the hallways had blue on their uniforms.

So, he came here to wander around the school aimlessly to ease his boredom. That was alright and there was a question directed at her. "I came here to the library to study on the paranormal. Ghosts fascinate me and I wanted to learn as much as possible about these ghosts." She did feel oddly comfortable about telling this to a complete stranger, but that was what made it a very interesting conversation. And it made her sound like a person obsessed with ghosts, but she didn't care about that. It seemed that Isabeau was still trying to read along with her though she wasn't sure if a Honedge can actually read a book. Many Pokemon could be intelligent enough to read a book anyway and the ghost sword was one of them. The book had recounted several incidents where an Aegislash had hypnotized many people including the king himself to do nefarious deeds. She actually wondered if that would happen to her when Isabeau evolved into Aegislash, but it was unlikely. Besides, the floating ghost sword was her friend and she would never hurt her like that. Still, that piece of information was...unnerving.

"That's correct. I think you're in the Wave Dorm too. It's nice to meet another person from a different dorm." That boy must've felt a awkward about keeping a conversation going, but it was fun to actually talk to someone new. He was reading about prehistoric Pokemon and how they existed. Well, Aero would be considered an ancient Pokemon due to how he had existed during the prehistoric era and he had been inside that Old Amber for so long. That was what made the avian pterodactyl so interesting. "If memory serves, I do have an Aerodactyl named Aero. He's nice, so he won't bite." Ghost Pokemon were interesting to research, but ancient fossil Pokemon were next on that list. It was imperative that everyone in her team should get some experience in battle, but those battles can wait until next week. Besides, Aero could have his first battle too and he would like beating up some weaker Pokemon, only if that was actually considered ethical for some people.

"Tyrunt's a nice Pokemon to have. When he evolves into a Tyrantum, he'll be bigger than my Aerodactyl. Though, Aero is faster than any other Fossil Pokemon with Archeops coming in second." Although, she never owned a Tyrunt before, it was interesting to know that her new friend had an ancient Pokemon like her. She was sure that Aero was quite nice to the other members of her team, considering how his species would not be dining on them and was known to consume fruit. It was also known that Aero can also Mega Evolve and thusly, become stronger and faster while proving himself to be more capable in combat. She'll have to be careful around Water-types, Electric-types, and others that could potentially take down Aero. It was the same with Archeops too, though it could outspeed anything that isn't an Electric-type. "Aero is capable of Mega Evolving, so that he can outspeed anything that isn't an Electric-type. As long as he's able to shrug off some attacks, he's unstoppable."

"I don't think I have a Mega Stone for Aero yet. It's quite expensive at the academy store. And a Teddiursa might be a good idea to get one of those stones though I'll have to catch one." So, there was a Teddiursa with the Pickup ability that can be a way to acquire a Mega stone for Aero. The academy store had those, but they were expensive and she didn't have the money for it. If she had more money for it, that would've been easier to acquire it. Not to mention that Aero could get stronger by this method of evolution and have a new look. While Mega Stones were powerful enough to give new abilities, they were quite beneficial to the holder itself, increasing their stats and learning new attacks. The Aerodactlylite that she heard about proved to be useful for increasing his defense and speed, making him a deadly attacker if trainers that were battling him were not careful.

Ah, so that could be the answer to the solution that she was looking for. "So, you're saying that the Wardens here could pass out those Mega Evolution stones at these types of events. I think that might be worth a shot if Aero were to get stronger and could get his full potential unleashed, therefore making him stronger in battles." And there was a Druddigon that she could catch next week which would make him the first Dragon type to be unevolved and not have to train to evolve. Maybe he could be useful in later battles too, but there were other Pokemon to train and evolve. "I think I'll be planning to catch a Druddigon next week since I don't have to evolve it. Pretty useful if I want a Dragon type on hand though it's a little slow."

"Nice to meet you, William. I'm Alice. It's quite funny how we haven't introduced ourselves during this conversation until later. And this is my Honedge, Isabeau. She's pretty nice as long as you don't touch her tassel. She hates being touched there." The floating sword blinked at him curiously, waiting to see how he'll react. She did know that Honedge's tassel contained some sort of power that could harm an average person, but that could be a theory. In reality, Honedge was just trying to protect its trainer from harm as it never really wanted to hurt anyone. It was just like Espurr where it didn't like its ears touched since it contained strong psychic powers that could kill its trainer if he or she was not careful. Other Pokemon must have spots where they don't like to be petted because of the potential to injuries its trainer outright, so that trainer had to be careful.

"Yes, I do. I have a Surskit which I'm planning to evolve into a Masquerain soon, a Litwick, and a Snivy. Druddigon will probably count as the sixth party member." Masquerain could probably be a good Special Attacker as well as Litwick when he evolves into a Chandelure. While Druddigon could be a good physical Attacker since it was a dragon who uses brute force. Snivy could be both, but his strengths relied on the defensive side and Coil could provide some boosts in Attack and Accuracy. Fossil Pokemon couldn't be chosen as starters due to their rarity and the lengths to go revive them, not to mention the time it takes to evolve them. Some pseudo-legebdaries take quite a long time to evolve since they were powerful in their own right. Some of them specialized in brute force while some did special attacks, kind of like mages from video games.

"Thank you. I assume you must have a team of varying types too. It's always a good thing to cover some weaknesses that your Pokemon might have." She turned back to her book where it covered some different Ghost types that she might be planning to catch. Gengar was both owned by a certain Elite Four member and a certain gym leader in her city though she couldn't figure who were their names. And Chandelure was considered to be the counterpart to Gengar due to their mage-like capabilities and Yamask was more on the defensive side. While some Ghost types evolve using an evolutionary stone, some of them evolved by trade. Was trading a method here if Haunter was going to evolve? Probably not since the academy would probably not use trade as a method. She read that Froslass evolved using a Dawn Stone and if the Snorunt was female. Female Snorunt could be difficult to come across if the trainer had any perseverance.

"That's a good team. I haven't battled anyone to even use my team strategically, but I'll try my best." Those types could easily take out some of her Pokemon, considering that Blitzle had both Wild Charge and Flame Charge. Fire attacks might take out Snivy, but it was a matter of who was the fastest. Aero's Ice Fang might be advantageous towards Tyrunt, considering that it was both Rock and a Dragon type. Speaking of which, there was more information about using Ghost types effectively in her book. Still, Electric attacks might take out her Surskit since he was a Water type. If Surskit evolved into a Masquerain, there was a matter of using some attacks to maybe cover that weakness though Aero might learn Earthquake later in order to defeat Electric types. Maybe that would be a good move to cover for his weakness to Electric types. Not to mention that Litwick might learn Flamethrower for those Grass and Bug types.

"Mhm. I haven't battled anyone, so to speak. It'll be great if one of my Pokemon could get some battles going. Probably have to use my team strategically or evolve a few Pokemon. Even then, I still need to get moves that cover some of the weaknesses that my Pokemon might have." While Earthquake was a particular mention due to its Ground typing and possibly the most game-breaking since it covered Electric types, she decided that Aero can learn it. Snivy could probably deal with Rock and Water types as long as those Water Pokemon didn't carry any ice moves with them. Type coverage moves were the best option to deal with since apparently, everybody comes prepared for a battle with some of their best moves.

"I'll try battling there then when time allows. Not today though, I have something to do while the day is still fresh. So, what made you study about prehistoric Pokemon?" The Battle Dome might have some tough opponents, but there were some easy ones. Specifically, some trainers who had only unevolved Pokemon and didn't do quite a bit of damage, but those strong trainers were the ones that she had to steer clear of. She had no need of an ice type to counter dragons, but a fairy type might be a good addition to the team. Maybe a Sylveon might be a good idea to catch once she was able to get a general idea of how they worked. Or that pixie bird-like Pokemon which evolved into a fat bird-like Pokemon would be a good idea. She had to be careful about Steel types though as Fairy was weak to Steel.

"Well, I generally like the paranormal, so I wanted to learn about the various ghosts that my dorm represents. Honedge is a fascinating Ghost type as it's a possessed sword and as a Aegislash, it has an interesting ability called Stance Change." She realized that her Honedge had dozed off to sleep while floating in midair. Well, that was normal since apparently, she had been reading along with the book until now. She turned to her Honedge and whispered. "Time to wake up, sweetie." Hearing the sound of her voice, the possessed sword snapped awake from her nap and blinked sleepily. Prehistoric Pokemon sounded interesting, considering that there were probably some rumors of fossils in those mine shafts. Those fossils were hard to come across according to the rumors, but they were quite valuable to some people who loved fossils.

"I think the ability allows Aegislash to switch in between its Shield Forme and Blade Forme. It's quite useful along with its unique move, King's Shield which switches to its Shield Forme while it is in Blade Forme. With that kind of combo, Aegislash could be deadly if you're not prepared. I guess that's why Honedge are increasingly popular nowadays." Now that she thought about it, Isabeau hadn't had any battles lately, but with the proper training, she could be stronger as a Doublade and finally an Aegislash. Training was pretty slow as she had been busy with other matters and there were possibly some training seasons thrown in when she had the chance. However, Isabeau did help her catch a Snivy, so it wasn't all that bad. Just a few more battles and that should be done. She had been planning a few battles for the others to participate as well.
