((Please read the guidelines before posting in here. It will explain how the process works and give you information about how contests work in the board.)) Tanya bit her lip as she went through the basics of the meeting she was about to conduct. She was so happy that she was able to get the pokemon contest club to go through, but now she realized that she had an obligation to lead the club to success as the President of the Club. While she wasn't used to taking on minor responsibilities such as looking after the house and her brothers, being in a major role of responsibility was something new to her. She had to stay strong though. Daniel stood next to Tanya, feeling pretty elegant and handsome. For this meeting, Tanya thought that it would be a good idea to have a demonstration and out of all the pokemon she had, Daniel was the pokemon she not only had the outfit for, but was probably the most willing to dress up for the trainer. Daniel was wearing a black morning suit that reached up to the bottom of his knees. On the inside of the suit was a white, buttoned up shirt and a little red bowtie that was tied around his neck. Daniel also supported a small top hat that sat on the top of his right ear. If one looked closely, the hat was securely attached by a clip to prevent it from falling off. Finally, he was given a tiny cane that would allow him to rest upon it if he so desired. The clubroom was a wide, open space with most of the chairs and tables pushed towards the edges of the classroom. The ceiling was relatively high as well. Tanya was standing in front of the chalkboard, writing in large letters “Pokemon Contest Club Meeting #1”. On the floor next to her were papers that contained the notes she had made for this meeting that were scattered about in an orderly mess. Just in front of the chalkboard, there was a single table and chair that was like the ones that the students used in classrooms. More of her own choice, she decided to add multicoloured streamers that surrounded the perimeter of the classroom. Finally, a few different colored ballons were held to the floor by weights, giving the room a somewhat party atmosphere. She still wasn't sure how many people would come. There should be at least two. Amanda and Astrid did agree to be founding members. She did hope more would come. She put a lot of effort into getting the club to exist alongside the help of Amanda. She hoped that it wouldn’t all come to waste in the end. While Tanya continued to take deep breaths, she still felt extremely nervous for the meeting that was to come. Shinx Egg +1

Recently, a "Pokemon Contest Club" had been opened. Recalling some things in the past, Seria realized that the main founder of said club had to be Tanya, who had brothers who were very much into contests. She wasn't really convinced to join it at first, being nervous and wondering how it would compliment her journey of self-discovery and wish fulfillment, but it turned out that Amanda was one of the co-founding members of the club (as well as Astrid, but Amanda's more important to this particular story). Amanda had spent quite a lot of energy trying to convince and persuade Seria to join. At some point, Amanda had presented the possibility of winning some ribbons. Seria liked ribbons. It certainly helped that Amanda mentioned that she made the ribbons. They felt... nice and soft. Right? Seria figured the Pokemon would love it.
Still feeling a bit giddy from Amanda's persuasion, she decided to go ahead and join the first meeting. She found the classroom where the meeting would take place, everything had already been prepared, even down to the lettering on the board. Seria saw Tanya with her Lopunny who had been waiting around for potential recruits. "Hey, Tanya. Amanda told me all about this club. So I'm going to join, if that's okay with you? She's... convinced me to join." Seria giggled, a blush managed to sneak its way across Seria's cheeks.

Amanda stepped into the room calmly, carrying a large case she had prepared earlier. When Tanya had told her about the idea of a Pokemon Contest club, Amanda had jumped at the chance to help her create it. It was only proper that she do so; for while Kalos had no contests of it's own: they were a major part of Hoenn tradition and recognizing that was proper.
Also, pretty clothes and ribbons and lots and lots of cute Pokemon made Amanda happy: this was simply too good an occasion to pass on. She smiled when she saw Seria had also arrived to the meeting. Although Amanda had devoted a great deal of effort to persuading her girlfriend: there had been doubts. A small blush forming on her face as she passed the Nature Dorm girl, Amanda leaned close and whispered. ''I see all those lovely soft ribbons persuaded you, ma petite fleur...''
A giggle and a quick kiss hello: Amanda swiftly dropped the case she had been carrying onto the table near the board, nodding in greetings towards her co-founder.

"That's totally fine with me!" Tanya exclaimed, glad that at least one person had decided to join her contest club. Looking over towards the entrance, she was glad to see that Amanda had arrived as well. She also carried a bag with her, containing things that she insisted on bringing to the meetings. It was nice having someone who was really into the idea of pokemon contests.
Tanya looked at the door expectantly, hoping that more people would come in. After a while though, Tanya realized that no one else was coming. Letting out a soft sigh to herself, she tried to hide her disappointed face from the two girls who did come to the meeting. She had to be positive. Rearranging her face into a smile, she focused on the two girls that had arrived to the meeting.
"The first official meeting of the Pokemon Contest Club has officially started!" Tanya declared, trying to make a fanfare out of the situation. Sure there weren't a lot of members so far, but she knew that more would come eventually. Hopefully. Astrid had yet to arrive and while Tanya wondered where she was, she realized that she couldn't wait for her for too long. "Thank you to everyone who has come today. As both of you know, I'm Tanya Christianson and I'm the president of the Club."
She knew that the introduction was pointless for the two people who did come to the meeting, but she thought she might as well go with the motions. Spinning on the spot, Tanya stopped and pointed towards Daniel, who proceeded to bow just like they had practiced. "This is Daniel. He'll be here to help with demonstrations and whatnot." Tanya introduced dramatically, making the best of the bad situation and having fun with it all.
"Now, for the meat of this meeting, who knows anything about pokemon contests? If you do, feel free to talk about what you know." Tanya asked the two, clasping her hands together and looking at both of the girls.

Upon arrival in the club rooms, there was a new club that was just starting in the school. The sign described a club that has Pokemon Contests as its subject. Maybe it was best to learn more about Pokemon contests if she joined the club. And it was a a subject that she had found in the library to be interesting. The academy's library had books that had information about contests, including what kind of appeal did the judges look for and information about the five categories. She released her Masquerain out of his Pokeball where he hovered beside her while looking around the room. She felt a sense of praise that he was the first one to evolve and that the others would soon follow. Upon entering the Pokemon Contest club, she had seen familiar presences since those days. "Hi. I imagine that this is a new club. Well, I thought it was interesting to join in, so here I am. Oh, and this is my Masquerain, Senketsu. He just recently evolved, so I'm hoping that I can use him for contests." It was clear that maybe the moth could be used for contests since she had an interest to participate in one.

Well, nobody said anything. That set her heart at ease. Not. While she stood at the other end, waiting for someone to say anything about contests, another person entered the room. "Oh hey Alice! I was just about to tell everyone about what contests were!" Tanya exclaimed, moving towards the chalkboard. While she was facing away from the others, she let out a sigh of disbelief. This was going to be harder than she anticipated.
"Well, I guess we'll start from the beginning then." Tanya began, cracking her fingers in order to stimulate her mind. "Pokemon Contests are really like a display of showmanship. It's taking some of the skills that pokemon battlers may not appreciate and bringing them into the spotlight. Well, that's the artsy way of saying it. Basically, it's showing off what your pokemon can do."
Thinking about it, Tanya found it really hard to put down a definite definition of what makes a pokemon contest a pokemon contest. She took a moment to pause, pacing the front of the chalkboard, before she began talking again. "Contests are split into two parts. The first round is the Appeal Round. The second round is the Battle Round. For each contest, two pokemon are chosen and are used throughout. In the appeal round, you dress up your pokemon and then put on a show using two different moves. You can have one pokemon do two moves or both your pokemon doing one move each. For an example of a costume, take a look at Daniel." At the point, Tanya gestured over towards her Lopunny, who proceeded to twirl on the spot, showing off all of the outfit he was wearing. Tanya coughed, hoping to bring Daniel back to earth before she continued to speak.
"Following that is a battle round. Unlike normal battles, the aim isn't only to defeat your opponent. While dominating the battle is one of the aspects towards victory, another aspect that is extremely important is showing off your teamwork and making a show out of the moves that you use. Each pokemon that takes part in the battle is allowed to use 5 moves at maximum. Of course, in this round, team composition is important as teams that score higher points are the ones that are able to cover each others weaknesses." At this point, Tanya reckoned that she had spoken way too much. Taking a moment to pause, she looked at the three girls who had congregated to the room. Did she talk too much? Did they think she was being boring? Hopefully they wouldn't lose the incentive to take part in the club.
"Now, does anyone have any questions?"

As Alice entered the room at the final moments, Amanda smiled and waved pleasantly. Yet despite it all, she couldn't help but feel somewhat dissapointed. The Contest idea had been a marvelous project to the Kalosian since Tanya had first brought it up, and she had sincerely hoped that more people would expressed interest. Although it was nice that a good deal of her friends were here, especially Seria: it wasn't enough. Nonetheless, it was a good point to start! Amanda clapped her hands triumphantly, a sly grin on her face as the gears in her mind began to turn. All she needed to do was encourage the contest project as it was. Get all the girls into it as much and put on a few shows. With the right planning and presentation, it could become an island-wide event!
The first step was simple enough, get everyone here started and taught on the idea of contests. Although she was as much a beginner as anyone else, Amanda had spent many a night studying the rules and variations of it: she was an expert now, in theory at least.
Secondly, she needed to make sure there were prompt rewards. Smiling, she let her hand wander of the box she had brought with her: although Tanya had some idea of the contents, only Amanda knew the sheer amount of ribbons and outfits that had been packed within. Their Pokemon would love them, and hopefully so would the trainers. Thirdly, after the initial group had been hooked, they could move onto shows. Setting up a grand celebration with the contest as it's feature wouldn't be too hard, and once the time came, she knew Alice, Seria, Tanya, and herself would all put on the best performance they could. A light blush colored her cheeks as she realized, attractive enough as they all were: especially Seria and Alice whom she had seen dressed up. A choice of cute outfits with the just the right amount of skin alone would possibly interest quite a few people. Perhaps she could even entice Annie or Adriel to acquiesce to that part.
She listened patiently to what Tanya had to say, nodding along although she already knew most of the rules by heart. As her friend finished: Amanda smiled. ''Non, I am eager to start!'' she replied cheerfully.

Astrid burst into the room, very late, just in time to hear Tanya ask if anyone had any questions. She was breathing heavily, and had to stop and drop into the nearest chair the moment she was inside. She set a fairly large bag on another chair, making sure it wouldn't fall off before she turned her attention back to the people in the room. Her fellow two founders were there, as well as Seria and one other person she only recognized from seeing occasionally in classes.
There was no doubt that she was very late. Late enough, in fact, that she'd managed to miss both the start of the meeting and, from the sounds of it, an explanation of what would be going on. That was embarrassing, missing the start of a club she'd been roped into helping get started. "Sorry I'm late," she said, panting. "I remembered that I had a few old outfits and costume pieces with me from before I started here, and I thought I'd bring them in to show off. Maybe even demo them, if anyone's interested. But it took me longer than I thought to get them out and make sure they were presentable."

Perhaps Annie was late. She had seriously considered not coming at all, and giving Tanya some excuse if her roommate asked why, but eventually she had decided that she really did need to get out and meet people more.
Then she had gotten a little bit lost, since she had misread the directions to the proper room in her nervousness.
Now that all that had finally been resolved, Annie peeked into the room. All present appeared to be girls, and Annie recognized more than she didn't. Tanya was there, of course, and Amanda the girl from Kalos, and that Nature Dorm girl in front of whom Annie was a little bit worried that she had made a fool of herself. Still, it couldn't be that bad, right?
The silver-haired girl slipped into the room as unobtrusively as she could and found a place very close to the door to observe what was going on. She wasn't likely to ask any questions, but she had at least some idea of what contests were all about already.

Tanya began to explain the general process of the Pokemon Contests. It sounded complicated at first, but as Seria tried to concentrate and figure out how everything played out, it was actually simpler than it seemed. So contests have two components, the first one basically is where you have your Pokemon perform using two different moves, complete with costume. The next one was a battle round where the aim was to use a series of moves to make a showmatch that would wow the judges. She noticed Alice walk in before Tanya began, and shortly after the introduction, Astrid and that Wave dormer came in too.
"I gots a question," Seria said, tilting her head. "Is there like, a bonus for having your Pokemon utilize moves that go well with each other, or something?"

The explanation about contests seemed to be very long, but it had taught her some of the basics that Tanya explained to the others. Already, Senketsu was eager to participate in his first contest since he was very proud of his pretty appearance, including his eyespots. After the long explanation about Pokemon Contests was over, Tanya had asked if there was any questions about these contests. Already, Seria had asked a question about whether there were bonuses for Pokemon that utilized their moves for appeal. She had a number of questions for the way that contests were performed, but she decided that it would be best if she listened to what Tanya had to say about Seria's question first. After all, she was certainly a beginner when it came to contests, but one would never know what kind of surprises that the coordinator would actually pull off. "I don't have any questions, but I know that my Masquerain is looking forward to be in the spotlight." She wasn't sure if any of her Pokemon were interesting in doing any contests, but she believed that everyone would need to try their best at winning a ribbon.

Tanya grinned happily when she saw more people entering the room. While she was expecting Astrid to come, after all she was one of the founding members alongside Amanda, she was extremely happy to find out that Annie was going to join the club as well. While all of the members so far were girls, that didn't matter too much. After all, there were more than two members. That had to be a good thing in her books.
"Welcome to those who just came in! I'm super stoked to have you guys with us!" Tanya declared, spinning on the spot in happiness. Hearing Seria's question, she stopped spinning and turned to face her, grinning widely. "Most definitely! One of the ways to score high points is to use a moveset that synergizes with each other well. A really good example of this would be Sunny Day and Overheat or Fire Blast. There are other moves like that that work well together, but we can get into details about that in a later date."
When Alice mentioned about wanting her pokemon to be in the spotlight, Tanya's eyes glinted. Now that she had gotten the boring explanation parts over with, it was time for her and the others to have fun. Hopefully. "Awesome! For those who missed the explanation, I'll be giving out sheet that have the pokemon contest rules at the end of the meeting. For now though, let's go outside. I'm going to show you what an appeal is like."
Jumping excitedly from her spot and out of the room, she lead all the other members to a secluded spot outside. The land was bare all around, with no grass growing. There were no discernible features except for a few trees that were scattered around the area. With Daniel following closely behind her, Tanya stood in the middle of the area, turning to face all the other girls.
"You might want to make some room. Appeals tend to be quite dramatic." Tanya warned the others. Putting an arm on Daniel, she nodded at him before moving out of his way. Knowing what was about to happen, Daniel stood proudly, ready to show off the training he had done with Tanya. "As I said before, Daniel will be showing us what an appeal is like. After Daniel, anyone who wants to can try out an appeal. We're not going to judge it, so it's really just to have fun with it. Don't be afraid of trying some stuff out as well. As for costumes, Amanda and Astrid should've brought costumes that should be okay to use so long as you ask them."
Now was the time. She hadn't performed an appeal in front of anyone except for her family, so she had a feeling of nervousness in her body. She was the president after all, so she needed to show a good example. "Daniel! Jump in the air and then attack the ground with Jump Kick!" Tanya shouted. On her order, Daniel threw his hat up high into the air. Bending his legs, he propelled himself high up in the air, catching the hat at the apex of his jump. As he fell, Daniel began to spin in the air, pulling off three forward tucks before extending his leg and smashing into the ground with heavy force. The sheer power of the attack caused the ground to cave and rocks to fly up in the air.
"Jump backwards and attack the rocks with Retaliate!" Tanya ordered, chewing her lip as she watched the appeal. Jumping out of the small hole he had made, Daniel looked at the rocks and instantly flew towards them. He sliced through the rocks so quickly that in only a few seconds, he had managed to reach the other side. Throwing his right hand down to the ground, the rocks disintegrated behind him, demolished by the attack. After finishing the appeal, Tanya ran up towards Daniel and gave him a hug. After doing so, she and Daniel bowed towards the audience of girls.
"Now, who wants to go first? She asked enthusiastically.

After completing some of her Warden duties, Aurora had finally decided to make her way toward the Pokemon Contest Club Meeting. Tanya had told her that their visit official meeting would be scheduled for today. It wasn't necessary that Aurora had to attend the meeting, seeing that the President of the Pokemon Contest Club Meeting to have everything in order. However, she figured that she would stop by to scope out their potential. She was beyond excited when Tanya had reached out to her and asked her if she would like to take the position as their adviser. There was no way that she would turn the opportunity down. She loved Pokemon Contest in every way, including assisting and grooming potential coordinators with their dreams of becoming Top Coordinator.
Once she appeared the clubroom where the meeting was currently being held. Aurora's amber eyes quickly capture the sight of Tanya's Lopunny performing a marvelous demonstration of an appeal. A warm smile slowly curved against Aurora's mouth as she stood in the door admiring Tanya's potential. It was always pleasing to see new coordinators developing a passion for the contest world. Once Daniel finished up with his appeal, Aurora would applause Tanya and her Pokemon. "Merveilleux! That was a wonderful demonstration Tanya. Your Lopunny showcased both his grace and strength, and that is what Pokemon Contest are all about, showcasing your Pokemon's beauty and power in an elegant manner!" She spoke in a joyous manner. She would then turn attention toward the rest of the room. "Bonjour ladies! I'm Miss. Aurora Beauregard and I will be here to assist you all during your journey of becoming wonderful Pokemon Coordinators!" She greeted them with a warm smile, her dazzling amber eyes glowing from the excitement. "Now, I believe that Miss. Tanya asked for a volunteer to perform a practice appeal. C'mon, don't be shy! I'm quite confident that you'll all do amazing!" She replied in an assuring voice.

Amanda giggled happily as she saw more and more girls enter the class, including friends of hers that she had intended to convince to join anyways: it was a good sight, one that suggested she would have much less manipulation to do later on. As it was time for the demonstration, Amanda gleefully released her own Pokemon: watching intently as the Lopunny performed a series of attacks. It was certainly a very tough and cool performance, something that had the Kalosian clapping at the end.
''Bravo, bravo!'' she cheered enthusiastically.
Yet the pleasure would not end there, her enjoyment was joined by that of Miss. Beauregard, Amanda nodded in agreement with the praise, feeling like the performance was an excellent example. But now it was her turn.
''If you do not mind...'' she announced, gesturing for her Pokemon to take the center. ''I would like to go second, as a co-founder of this club!''
Smiling to everyone around her, lingering slightly on Seria and the others that she knew, which was most. Amanda turned to the two Pokemon she had released: Lunatone and Kirlia. Much like the Lopunny, they had both been dressed for a performance. The Kirlia in an elegant pink floral minidress covering all but her limbs and head. A beautiful flower adorned her head, matching the bouquet the Fairy casually nuzzled, holding it in her arms. By contrast, the Lunatone only had a blue bow wrapped around it's pointy head: showcasing the rather limited dress options for a moon.
A flick of Amandas wrist gave the command. ''Begin, Rock Throw.''
Glowing, the Lunatone tore a large chunk of rock from the floor: it's eyes a radiant purple as it flung it towards the Kirlia. Calmly, Katherine seemed entirely unaware of the boulder. It speeding towards her as she sat. The Kirlia idly playing with her bouquet of flowers. The rock came closer and closer. Only to reach a sudden stop. Opening her eyes. The Kirlia leaped into the air gracefully. Her own eyes glowing as she lightly landed on the hovering rock, the Kirlia tossed her bouquet into the air. Yet, as the bouquet fell apart from the force of the throw, none of the flowers landed on the ground, instead all of them continued to hover. Smiling at the watching students: the Kirlia leaped once more into the air, casually somersaulting as she flung her tiny arms towards the rock, the petals following her direction and shooting into the rock with extreme force.
Dust overtook the Pokemon, only to be cleared seconds later by a psychic wave. Visible once more, the audience could all see the Kirlia standing triumphantly on the tip of the rock, now expertly carved by the petals into the shape of a large rose.
Amanda beamed, pleased by their performance. ''Voila!''

Seria applauded after Tanya's Lopunny's performance. The Pokemon seemed to be very energetic and made a great display of moves. She wondered if any of her Pokemon could manage the same feats. Perhaps in time, or she would capture a Pokemon specifically for contests. Eventually, another person wandered in the area, it turned out to be a Miss. Aurora Beauregard, and she introduced herself as someone ho would help with becoming contest Coordinators. After this, Amanda stepped forward and excitedly sent out two Pokemon, Lunatone and Kirlia. The two of them worked together to make a good performance. And unsurprisingly, the performance was indeed splendid, as befitting of a young woman like Amanda.
Seria clapped after it was done, and thought for a moment.
"I'll think about giving it a shot later," Seria said, scratching her head. "I need to think about this."
