The young blonde returned after a short time. Her Quilava had healed since the last battle, so it was time to continue her search for nice finds. Of course, she was gradually running out of non-duplicate things she could find in the Den. Which, really, that wasn't too bad a thing. If anything, it just mean that she had a large number of nice things. With her hands folded together behind her head, the young lady proceeded further into the cavern. She'd find something nice, crush its will to resist, then capture and leave. Simple, to the point, and thoroughly effective.
It was probably about time for some of her Pokemon to evolve, too. She'd look into that after returning, she decided. Party: Flygon, Whimsicott, Serperior, Quilava, Sliggoo, Goldeen Preferred Spawns: Shellgon, Gabite

And so the second major encounter for that pair of trips began! . . . and it was a Shelgon. Good, considering she passed up on one before due to the pressing need for a Volcarona. With a slight smile, she send out her Quilava. Verbti had served well against dragons so far, so why not let him finish things up? That was the mentality the blonde had over the whole deal. It was time to capture the one that she allowed to get away. This time? There was no escape. Only submission to one's betters.
”Verbti, use Eruption!” Shelgon had impressive physical defense, so the strategy used on the Dragonair would not work. Instead, relying on Eruption until the first major hit connected with Verbti was the best opening move. After that, relying on Extrasensory to finish the deal would take care of everything. The Quilava sent forth a rain of magma on the dragon! The damage was solid enough, despite the resistance. The Shelgon responded with an attempt at biting the Quilava.
”Stay up. Use Extrasensory!” The damage from the bite was going to be bad, but not enough to finish things up just like that. It was, however, enough to ruin the effectiveness of Eruption over Extrasensory. The Quilava utilized a burst of psychic energy, which forcibly extended the dragon's perception of reality! The Shelgon flinched, apparently unable to deal with the surge. That was their chance. ”Again, Extrasensory!” A second burst of psychic energy slammed into the Shelgon, causing its legs to fold underneath it. That was as good a point as any to mark a “victory”, Adolfina figured. Stepping forward, she lobbed a ball at it, awaiting the click.

”Good job. That's three dragons now. Maybe we'll turn you into a dragon-slayer yet.” It was more a casual, meaningless comment than anything, though. Really, she had different intentions for raising the Quilava. Still, he had proven effective against dragons. No matter how unreasonable that was. Without another word, the girl stepped forward and retrieved the ball, putting it away. She then sighed quietly. She felt. . . pleased. This wasn't just a case of her having succeeded; it was something more than that. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, though.
”Let's go. We're done here. Join me on the way to the exit, Verbti.” Her words were gentle. One might have even said they were delivered in a way that should have been expected from a young lady.
