Seeds of War (Finals/Round 3, versus Sonia)

Sonia took a deep breath and looked ahead unfaltering. Something like this wasn't going to ruin her pride. She would be accepting this in stride. It would be a lesson to her for future battles. That said, she wasn't about to let her partner hold it over her either. Sonia wasn't so petty that she would accept this as an ultimatum. Sonia looked at her Pokemon, then to the enemy Pokemon, then to her partner. Taking another deep breath, Sonia's stone gaze continued onward. She had already learned now. After this, it would simply be beating the lesson in with a rock in the most crude fashion.

Even though the target had awakened, all the pieces had fallen in place. Whimsicott's offensive power had doubled. At the same time, the Eelektross' endurance was halved. In other words, finishing this target off was simple work. Even if Strugatskaya sent in something else and managed to attack before they could react, the damage wouldn't be enough to finish off Diablo. This meant, if necessary, she could just repeat the process over. Of course, if the option to completely take care of a second Pokemon was there, she would take it. Even if Diablo fainted at that point, two fresh Pokemon against a known-third would be simple cleanup.
”Go, Diablo. Moonblast!” The fluffball charged up and produced a ball of faenergy. It was intensely powerful pixie magic, that. With a cackle, Diablo fired the blast off at the Eelektross! Action: Whimsicott used Moonblast Notes: 2x Sp Attack; 95 BP, STAB, 100% accuracy

Sonia watched the blast hit her Pokemon. It had already been weakened terrible from the leech seed, but now the blast did the trick. Without a word, the girl recalled her Pokemon before sending out her Hydreigon. Flamethrower. Her usual peppiness from her words was gone. All that she bothered with now was finishing the battle. Hydreigon let off a steady blast of fire at the enemy. It was strong, but Sonia knew it probably wouldn't be enough. Perhaps this girl had made her a bit of a pessimist? That, or she really did know that this was it. The next attack would end Hydreigon though. It would probably hurt, but in the long run it was probably better than seeing all her Pokemon slowly wither. Action: Flamethrower; BP 90 Burn Roll; 1-10, 1 is burn ui4nn9u71-101-10

The Eelektross was down, firmly setting the blonde in the lead. Strugatskaya sent out a Hydreigon. Was she pinning her hopes on a one-shot? Whatever the case, she had the dragon use Flamethrower. Fortunately, though the damage was great, it was not enough to do in the Whimsicott. Even better, no burns. That meant she could safely attack and finish off this entrant while maintaining the secrecy of her second and third choices. Adolfina wasn't sure what Strugatskaya was thinking. She herself had taken care of that same Hydreigon earlier. Whatever the case, it was there, and Diablo was ready.
”You've done well. Again. Moonblast, Diablo!” The Whimsicott charged and fired off a violent blast of fairy-based energy! Even if that dragon was in perfect shape, between the double-weakness and the doubled energy backing it, there was no way Moonblast would fail! Action: Whimsicott used Moonblast Notes: 2x Sp Attack; 95 BP, STAB, 100% accuracy

Sonia closed her eyes for a moment, maintaining the facial expression she had. When she opened them, her Hydreigon was downed. Returning the Pokemon, she sent out her Aggron. Iron Head. She ordered a physical attack despite knowing that the enemy's defense was boosted to large values. It could knock out and at the same time, it might not. Either way, her final Pokemon rammed at the cotton ball at full force. She continued to stare on ahead while doing this. Normally she would cheer on her Pokemon, yet she just didn't see a point in it this time. Sonia knew she let her team down. She was at fault. Action: Iron Head; 80 BP + STAB

And there was the final obstacle between herself and victory. Did she care if she hurt her business partner in this exchange? Not really. The recognition was what she desired. Number one, and the honor and glory that came with it. The Aggron charged forward, using its head to slam into Diablo. The ball of fluff shot back with a small bit of momentum. The blonde actually caught the Whimsicott. Was it care or consideration? Probably not. Acknowledgment, praise? Also unlikely. Despite that, she smiled. She was certainly pleased. With a few quiet words to the Whimsicott, she returned the fluffball. Then, revealing her second ball, she released her other starter, Limos. The Flygon buzzed before setting her eyes on the Aggron.
”Limos, go. Earth Power!” Earthquake would have had more raw power, but Aggron had impressive defenses. On the other hand, Aggron was weaker in terms of special defenses, and, on top of that, the attack still had a four-fold effectiveness on the tank. With a fierce buzz, the dragonfly focused energy on the ground below the target, causing the ground to viciously shudder and buckle! Action: Whimsicott fainted; switched in Flygon. Flygon used Earth Power Notes: 90 BP Ground-type, boosted by STAB, backed by 80 base Sp Atk

Sonia watched the new Pokemon come in as the cotton ball went down. The issue that managed to wall her team was finally down. But the damage was already dealt. Watching as the last Pokemon came in, Sonia braced herself for what might come. It was a blast of energy. Sonia knew that her Aggron wasn't good with special attacks. That was why when the final blow came, the girl didn't blink. Her Aggron slunk to its knees at first before beginning to fall. Of course, before he hit the ground, Sonia recalled him. It was already over. The result? An unsatisfying, monotonous battle that left a bad taste in her mouth. With a sigh, the girl sighed before lifting her hand to wave at her opponent. See ya later, partner. Turning, the girl left. No words of sportsmanship, no cheery tone. She simply left the stadium as a result.
