Seeds of War (Finals/Round 3, versus Sonia)

Somehow, Adolfina was surprised, but still entirely expecting the end result for the finals. Why? Strugatskaya was an insane, confused, and utterly ridiculous individual that lacked any degree of common sense. Therefore, while she was surprised that the girl got to the finals, the blonde could honestly say she was not shocked that an envoy of chaos and disorder managed to trump over all the opposition. However, the blonde knew what to expect from her opponent- crude and excessive force. No finesse. No real strategy. Just brute force and an utter lack of sense. For that reason, Adolfina did not doubt the end result of this match.
”Go, Diablo.” The girl sent out her Whimsicott as the two entered the area for the battle. Just one more stepping stone until she received the recognition as the champion in that tournament. Rewards? Nice, but unnecessary. Knowing that she'd be recognized as the strongest and most capable was enough. The rewards were just icing on the cake. The child crossed her arms, straight-faced as she stared at the other side of the ring.
”This doesn't really surprise me, honestly speaking. And yet I can't believe you're actually the final opponent I'll have.” It was as vocal as she had been since the start of the tournament. Really, though, it was as vocal as she planned to be until the conclusion. What happened from that point on was combat- it was a personal war between herself and her business partner. And even if things went sour? She had what she needed. Cutting business ties was entirely possible, if the need actually arose. Action: Sent out Whimsicott

It was finally time. Sonia had made it to the finals somehow. Her plans and strategies? They all consisted of excessive force. How did she make it this far riding on that alone? She wasn't really all that sure to be honest, but she wasn't about to question it either. Her excessive force must have simply been so strong, logic was powerless! Yes, that must have been it. Stepping into the arena, the girl was a bit surprised about who her opponent was. Yet, at the same time she wasn't surprised at all. I had a feeling I would see you here. The girl smiled to her partner across the way. She had already sent out her Pokemon as well. Sonia was a bit familiar with it already, considering she had seen Fi in battle already.
I suppose you'll be a worthy opponent for me. Hope you're prepared. Sonia pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it. She revealed her Eelektross, the one she felt would be most suited for this match-up. Naturally, Sonia knew that she couldn't take this match too lightly either. It was the finals, and she knew her opponent well enough to not be too overlooking. Doing that had nearly cost her the first fight. Your move, partner. As Sonia had seen in many films, "Ladies first." She needed to think her options over a bit before planning an offensive. Sonia had the odd feeling this girl would never live it down if she had managed to beat her. Action: Sending out Eelektross

Strugatskaya sent out an Eelektross. It was a unique Pokemon in that, under normal circumstances, it was impossible to land a “Super-effective” hit on it. Pure Electric-type, with the ability Levitate, made that so. On top of that, it had impressive offensive capabilities and a wide range of possible moves. Not only that, but it was an effective attacker on both the physical and special spectrum. Not a bad opening move by any means. Of course, there was still one issue with that. After all, it had no protection against her calling card with Diablo.
”Open up with Grass Whistle, Diablo!” The Whimsicott skipped forward a bit, seemingly unfazed by the looming eel of damnation. Then, producing a mass of grass, she blew, producing a relaxing melody to lull the enemy to sleep! Action: Whimsicott used Grass Whistle Notes: Prankster activated via Grass Whistle use; 100% accuracy, guaranteed sleep. Roll below to determine number of turns lost via sleep. Tch. Sonia watched as the girl made her opening move. She was familiar with this kind of tactic. After all, it was how she had won her last battle. Loki was asleep and there wasn't anything that she could do about it. Sonia tried to think something over, but there didn't seem to be anything that immediately struck her as a good idea. She had to think. While she did, Loki would be a sitting duck. Did she have anything that could take down the enemy just fine? If she didn't, the enemy would be able to set up however they wanted with no problems. Already, things weren't looking good. Action: fucking nothing

The blonde maintained a straight face as the sleep clawed down the Eelektross. The first line of business was boosting their defense. While she doubted Strugatskaya had much in the line of specially-offensive Pokemon, outside of this and the Hydreigon she stole, she knew, for a fact, that this girl had a ridiculous number of physically-offensive Pokemon. It made sense. After all, this brute before her was so physical, so rude, it only made sense! So, it was best to neutralize that threat sooner as opposed to later.
”Diablo, use Cotton Guard!” The Whimsicott did a little jig before her cottony mane puffed out, greatly enhancing her physical defense. Would one suffice? She'd determine that based on the longevity of the eel's slumber. Action: Whimsicott used Cotton Guard Notes: Cotton Guard modifies defense by +3; 2.5x base value

Sonia continued to wait for her Pokemon to wake up. This wasn't going to be fun if she had to spend her entire fight yelling at her Pokemon while it slept. It was just annoying. Loki, get up! We have to win this! The girl thought back to her victory last round. she thought about how she came through from an awful start. She couldn't let victory just slip away. It couldn't be allowed to. Yet, here it was, about to be lost. Actually, could she do something once her Eelektross was out? Was there a way she could take it down afterwards? She couldn't be sure. Action: Just waking up, in time to be put back down.

With their defensive capabilities enhanced, things could begin- no, wait, no they couldn't. The eel began to stir back to the world of the living. How pleasant. Well, there was nothing that could be done about it waking up early. Something could, however, be done about the Pokemon staying awake. The girl gradually began to smile. After all, things were working in her favor right now- and much more readily than in the previous battle.
”Another Grass Whistle, Diablo.” The order was clear and simple. The ball of fluff hopped on forward and blew on some grass she produced, emitting a relaxing sound that dragged the victim to slumber! After that, the Whimsicott could prepare for a proper offensive. Action: Whimsicott used Grass Whistle Notes: Grass Whistle has 100% accuracy due to Prankster. Roll to determine length below. x08bNKMw”1-3”Number equals turns lost. ”1-3”

Finally, Loki began to stir. Sonia focused as she readied herself to call out another command. Yet, as she was getting ready to do so, the enemy Pokemon put Loki back to sleep. Wha. . . How long would he be asleep this time? How was she even supposed to get out of this? actually, what was she even supposed to do once she sent out another Pokemon? She didn't exactly have anything to fight back the enemy with completely. Instead, the girl continued to wait, waiting for an opportunity to strike; assuming it came. Really, did she have anything that could fight back? Action:

With that, maybe the opponent would remain asleep for a while? It'd be nice. Either way, it was time to prepare for a proper offensive. With Moonblast, taking an offensive was already an option, but she wanted a bit of assurance that there would be plenty of stopping power behind the attack. Of course, it would be unpleasant to have to deal with a fully-durable opponent, even after buffing their offense, if they neglected to keep them asleep. It would be good to deal damage while preparing. . . and, thinking on it, they had a method of doing just that- reliably, at that.
”Diablo, use Leech Seed.” With the new order, the Whimsicott seemed to cackle before bouncing a bit and inhaling. Then, spitting out a volley of small seeds at the opponent, she waited for them to sprout! Action: Whimsicott used Leech Seed Notes: Leech Seed has 100% accuracy due to Prankster. Damage dealt at the end of the opponent's turn is 1/8 of the Pokemon's maximum health. Full damage dealt is restored to Whimsicott.

Sonia drew a blank. There really wasn't much she could do against this enemy. Really. Absolutely nothing. She had looked over all of her pokemon available as well as their moves. Nothing had the capability to stop this consecutive sleep. What was she supposed to do? There wasn't any point in trying when the girl knew it was a futile attempt. Sonia was headstrong, but she knew when something was impossible or definite. This was one case. Yet, at the same time, the girl kept trying to second guess that thought. Was there something that she could do? Her only option seemed to be to rely on luck.

Gradual, continuous damage would be dealt via Leech Seed. Because of that, she and Diablo could focus on building themselves up. Adolfina did not, in the least, consider how her opponent felt. After all, so long as she won, what did it matter? How many uses of Growth would be necessary to guarantee a generally-good “sweep” against her opponent? One would be helpful. Two would be ideal. A third, honestly, would be perfect, but she couldn't count on sleep lasting long enough to make that viable. On the other hand, by the time the second Growth was utilized, three-eights of the opponent's health would be gone by default.
”Begin, Diablo. Use Growth.” The Whimsicott seemed to chuckle to herself before planting her feet firmly on the ground and having what looked like tendrils attempting to drive themselves into the floor to find nutrients. Gradually, Diablo's body seemed to glisten with new strength. Action: Whimsicott used Growth Notes: Growth boosts Attack and Sp Attack by 1; Att/Sp Att +1 (1.5x base), Def +3 (2.5x base)

Fi was just continuing to set up. She knew that this was how things would go down. There wasn't much she could do about it. Well, no. There was nothing. She had to wait for her Pokemon to go down before even attempting something. She had no opportunity to make a move. Not yet anyway. And the moment she did? It would just be a repeat of this time. Sonia felt like berating herself for a moment. Not only did she lack the proper planning, she had been cornered so easily. She had shamed herself, to put it bluntly. Once proud, she now felt as if she hit rock bottom.

Leech Seed continued to suck the opponent's energy from its body. It also stirred back to the realm of the waking. That was a problem she'd work to fix in just a moment. If she waited it out to utilize Grass Whistle, then Growth, that'd be another fourth of the opponent's health, or half of its full strength. In other words, if she waited it out, she could have potentially sunk the Eelektross is a single definite-offensive move. That was probably safe. Once she verified who came out next, it wouldn't be a major issue to send out something to counter the new opponent. In other words, even if Diablo went down after she sunk this first opponent, she could likely keep the offensive going. Things were looking good.
”Diablo, another Grass Whistle. Just a little bit more.” For the third time since the battle began, the Whimsicott produced grass and blew a tune, fully intent to send the opponent right back to sleep. Action: Whimsicott used Grass Whistle Notes: 100% accuracy due to Prankster. Number of turns determined via roll below. YsQF5Oxq”1-3”Number equals turns lost. ”1-3”

Once again, Sonia watched as her Pokemon was sent to sleep just as it woke. There wasn't anything she could do about it like before. She stared onward. At first she stared at her Pokemon, but soon that stare moved to Fi. She looked at the person who she was battling. All Sonia saw? Someone who only cared about the results. She didn't care about the method. If it worked, she would utilize it. That was the kind of person Fi was. Perhaps Sonia was slow on the uptake, but it was beginning to become clear. Sonia simply waited for the events to unfold. She had no means of stopping them. She had already considered that.

Assuming all went well, then that might have been the last time she would need to utilize Grass Whistle. It really depended on Strugatskaya. It was time to finish their “preparations”. After this, they could begin the assault proper. The blonde closed her eyes and tried to think. If everything boiled down to the systematic formula, then. . . everything would be fine. She didn't need to worry about the end result right now. She needed to just focus on the present- to ensure that the chance of victory never dropped lower than a flat hundred.
”Diablo, one more time. Growth.” With that, the Whimsicott tried to drain more nutrients. Her fluffy mane glistened with energy. More than that, she looked ready enough. Perhaps Diablo was able to pick up on her mistress' intentions? Action: Whimsicott used Growth Notes: Growth boosted Attack and Sp Attack by 1; Attack/Sp Attack +2 (2x base value), Defense +3 (2.5x base value)
