Domenating the Competition [Vs. Tanya]

What the hell was she doing? A guilty look crept upon her face as the Snubull began tugging and punching Nicholas. She knew he wasn't going to last long. Indeed, once the Snubull had had her fun with him, Nicholas collapsed on the floor with exhaustion.
"Return Nicholas." Tanya said, frowning as she returned him to his pokeball. This was not going to end well for her. She was already down to two, with one of them being a Combee, not really good for combat. She could easily give up. It might be easier after all.
Yet for some reason, she didn't want to. She never really considered it as an option. Maybe it was her mother speaking through her. Whatever it was though, Tanya was not ready to give up yet. She still could win this.
"Daniella! Use Yawn!" Tanya shouted, throwing her pokeball into the air. Daniella appeared on the battlefield, slowly floating down towards the ground. While she did so, she let out a loud yawn, causing a big pink bubble to form. It slowly floated towards the Snubull, popping in her face once the bubble reached her.

It seemed she had a bit of her fighting spirit back, which was a good thing. While it seemed like it was quite a bit forced, a the very least she wasn't about to back down. Still, Crispin kept his mouth shut where under normal circumstances he would be talking someones ear off. He could tell it wasn't the time, nor place for that matter. Looking back down to the fight, he pondered what his next step should be. As it stood, Cecillia would be falling asleep the next turn.
Now the question was; did he fill her health back up from it first, or sneak in one attack? He clicked his tongue for a moment as he pondered, knowing he didn't have long to decide; he could already see the dogs eyes drooping sleepily. She was looking worse for the wear too, having taken two attacks before. Who knew how much more she could take. Finally he nodded. If she would be put to sleep anyway, may as well get some health back from it. Besides, he still had a trick up his sleeve. "Go ahead Cil, res' up!" The Snubbull seemed grateful, curling up on the ground and falling fast asleep. In moments her wounds closed, her deep, self induced sleep fixing her all up.
Cecillia the Snubbull used Rest, putting her to sleep for a full three turns and healing her to full health.

Tanya raised her eyebrow when he ordered the pokemon to use Rest. He could've snuck in an attack on her, putting her on a spot as she would've had to make a decision between healing or attacking again. However, this time, it seemed that he was just got hand over the sleep ailment to her.
"Well this makes things easier." Tanya commented, smirking a little bit. Maybe she was just over-thinking things. She knew she would never give up. That was one thing that was crucial to her core. If she were to go home now, she would just be giving up on not only the academy, but her dreams as well. If she did that, she could never live with herself.
"Might as well try something out. Give the Snubull a Nightmare!" Tanya commanded, slowly finding her reason for being there. On her command, the Munna flew over the Snubull and started glowing with an ominous, black energy. The energy swirled around the two pokemon and started to seep into the sleeping pokemon's dreams, inflicting damage every turn that she stayed in her dream. Since Rest meant that she'd be sleeping for two more turns after this, she knew she'd be taking quite a lot of damage.
Action: Used Nightmare. Snubull takes 25% damage every turn she stays asleep.

Crispin had a feeling something like this would happen, but Cecillia wasn't out for the count. Instead he found himself glad he had her heal, first. If she had to take that damage on top of what she already had, it wouldn't have been good. He felt terrible as he saw her twitch in her sleep, obviously upset from whatever nightmares she was having. Crossing his fingers, he yelled as loud as he could to the sleeping Pokemon. "Sleep talk, Cil!" The Snubbull seemed to twitch slightly before standing up. She was obviously still asleep, eyes closed tight, but somewhere in her conscious she knew she was still fighting. Hesitating for a second, she promptly fell back over. Crispin sighed; she must have tried to use rest, so it had failed. Miserably. It didn't mean the fight was completely over, but he knew he'd be missing that turn. "Back ta ye, den."
Attempted Sleep Talk; roll came out rest, so sleep talk failed. Turn ended.

She knew she was down, but she wasn't going to give up just yet. She could never give up. All the time she spent questioning her reason being there, she nearly lost herself. She needed to remember who she was. She was Tanya Christianson and Christiansons never give up.
She was intrigued by her opponent's use of Sleep Talk. It seemed to be an interesting use of the move, especially in combination with Rest. While it was smart, it had the ability to backfire. Which is exactly what happened at that moment, when it just continued to sleep, plagued by bad dreams that were given by the Nightmare.
"Come on in and attack with Psychic!" Tanya ordered, showing more energy as she slowly got back into the mood to battle. Daniella began glowing purple, her eyes completely turning purple as she used her psychic energies to pick up the Snubull and smash him back down onto the floor. Hopefully, the Nightmare in tandem with Psychic could be enough to finish off the Snubull. Maybe this strategy wasn't so bad after all.

Too bad it seemed that his gamble didn't work in his favor. Suddenly, with the nightmares she was plagued with along with the psychic blast, she fell into a restless sleep. Perhaps it was for the best, he thought to himself, if it meant she wasn't having those nightmares anymore. "That's enoof Cil, res' up for nigh." He recalled the dog, thinking for a moment. He finally moved his hand from one Pokeball to the other, throwing it to the center. "'Tis arright Wes, de bug is gone. Go ahead an' start it oyt wi' leech seed again!" The Skiddo pawed at the ground as he landed, looking around skeptically.
Deciding the coast was clear, he focused his eyes on the Munna, huffing. The leaves around his neck rustled noisily, shooting seeds toward the flying dream eater. Roots grew at his feet as the plants tried to reach at the opposing Pokemon, hoping to drain the health back to their creator. Crispin watched the other trainer; whatever was plaguing her seemed to be clearing up with the fight. He smiled, glad.

Tanya smiled when she managed to defeat the Snubull. Things were actually going pretty well. If she could keep up the momentum, there could be a chance she could win this. The odds were against her, but she knew that due to how she played out that match, she wasn't going to lose too badly.
Once again, the Skiddo came in. Second verse, same as the first. The seeds began to latch onto Daniella's body, spreading around her body and causing her to desperately shake them off as they grew larger and larger.
"Get back in here Daniella." Tanya reassured, comforting the pokemon as she returned her to her pokeball. She knew she could use her later in the battle. In any case, there was a pokemon who could do a better job anyway.
"Come on out and don't be afraid Nicola!" Tanya shouted, smiling as she spun and threw her pokeball in the air. Once again, the Combee started erratically flying around the battlefield. Smiling with joy, she did loop de loops and tumbles when she came out. This time, Tanya didn't chide her. She was starting to have fun again.
Action: Switched Daniella the Munna for Nicola the Combee.

It looked like they were playing this game again. Poor Wesley pawed at the ground nervously, and Crispin mulled over what to do. Finally, he inhaled deeply. Val could help a lot, but if they played this switch around game forever, it would be for moot. Of course... "Wes, don't worry, com on back. Val, you're up!" The look of relief on the Skiddo's face was obvious as he was recalled, and in his place quickly stood a bright blue dog. The Houndour's stubby tail wriggled in excitement as she practically hopped from foot to foot. Crispin grinned widely at Valdis's attitude, glad that the upset tension from the air had been mostly lifted.

Here they go again. Tanya knew that depending on how it went, she could still gain an advantage from this switch. If he stayed in, she had the type advantage on her side, with any of Skiddo's grass type attacks being quad resisted by Combee. If he switched, she'd be able to gain the upper hand and gain more information.
It seemed that he went for the latter option, and seeing the pokemon that came out next caused her to click her tongue in worry. Of course he'd have the pokemon that could annihilate both her Combee and her Munna. Still, there was a chance of her winning, so long as she could play this correctly.
"Come on Nicola! Fill the air with your Sweet Scent!" Tanya commanded, hoping that the Combee would pay attention to the fight. Nicola, seeing that the Houndour came in, flew around happily for a moment, oblivious to the danger she was in until she heard the order.
Closing her eyes, Nicola blew out a pink powder from her mouth, permeating the air with a sweet smelling powder around the arena. She reckoned that Nicola couldn't do much damage on her own. This battle was going to have to rely on Daniella's abilities. It was a gamble, but one that would hopefully pay off.
Action: Nicola used Sweet Scent. Lowers Evasiveness by Two Stages.

The abnormally colored Houndour wavered in place for a moment, raising her nose to the air. Her stub of a tail wriggled even more, though her legs now seemed sluggish as she enjoyed the new smell. Crispin frowned, but not all was lost. If he worked it right, the Combee wouldn't be out for too long, and he would be at an advantage again. "Val, focus! Tink up a nasty plot ta make yer work a bit easier in te long run." Shaking her head clear, she focused in on the bee. Her tail stilled for the first time, as she tilted her head curiously. It almost looked like her eyes were glowing menacingly as she thought up something terrible.
Used Nasty Plot, increased Sp. Atk. by two stages.

It took her a moment to realize that the kid had a shiny Houndour. Was there something she was missing? It seemed like all of these trainers here were finding shiny pokemon. First it was Amanda, now it was this guy. Was she just unlucky?
Now wasn't the time to focus on that though. It seemed like he was going for the long run, using a move to sharply boost his special attack. When Nicola made eye contact with the Houndour, she started to shake in the sky, scared of what he had planned.
"Don't be scared Nicola! Attack with Bug Buzz!" Tanya encouraged, clenching her fists as she could feel the fire burning in her eyes. She put on a smirk as she readied herself to fight against this trainer.
Nicola, on Tanya's encouragement, closed her eyes. She then started to beat her wings rapidly, causing circular beams of green energy to fly from the Combee and smash into the Houndour, trying to do as much damage as she could. Tanya was proud with how well Combee was hanging in there.
Action: Used Bug Buzz.

The attack battered the poor dog, but she stood and shook herself off the best she could. Standing back tall, she glanced at Crispin over her shoulder. She definitely already had an idea what she was going to do, but she knew to wait for her trainer. Crispin actually felt kind of bad for the poor bee pokemon; she looked so excited to be here fighting by her trainer, and then came a flame puppy. Nodding regardless, he looked back to the Houndour. "Yep Val, use Flamethrower!"
Turning back to the Bee, Valdis pushed off the ground as hard as she could, spraying a jet of flames from midair towards the bug Pokemon. With his opponent getting back into the fight, the battle was proving to be a lot more fun than he originally thought it would be. He may have to do this more often!

Tanya could only wince in pain as she watched the Houndour attack with Flamethrower. While she did feel it was a little overkill, there was a reason behind it. Indeed, once the bee pokemon came in contact with the flames, she let out a loud yell of pain, instantly falling to the floor and falling unconscious.
"You did good Nicola." Tanya said as she returned Nicola to her pokeball. Grabbing Daniella's pokeball, she held it in her hands for a moment. It all came down to this moment. Now was do or die. "While we may be in a corner, I shall never yield! That goes against the Christianson name! Come on out again Danielle! Attack with Hypnosis!"
For this final release, she began to spin rapidly in a circle, her movements elegant as she threw her pokeball into the air. Once again, Daniella came out of her pokeball. Floating up high in the air, Daniella sent out yellow circular rings of psychic suggestion, which slowly floated towards the Houndour. Due to the Sweet Scent, Tanya had confidence that this attack would not miss.
Action: Used Hypnosis. Due to evasion decrease, no accuracy rolls are necessary.

As Valdis landed and returned to her person's side, she promptly fell fast asleep as the Munna returned to the field. Well, that wasn't very good. He had already seen what had happened the last time from that dangerous combo. Still, if he did something to wake her up now it wouldn't change the fact she was so enamored by the sweet scent from earlier. Sighing, he reached for her ball and recalled her. "Com on back Val, you're up again Wes!" The Skiddo again looked around warily. He seemed to be beginning to trust his trainer to not force him to fight the bug, though, as he quickly snapped his attention the the Munna. He had seen it before, and he was ready for it this time. Hopefully.
Recalled Valdis, resetting her Nasty Plot but also removing the effects of sweet scent from her. Sent out Wesley in her place.

This was good. Things were going well. Momentum was shifting in her favor somewhat. She was down two to one, but she also put one of them to sleep. That basically took the Houndour out of the battle for a short while. If he kept the shiny in, she was going to use that to her advantage. If he wanted to send in his Skiddo, she could try and make things work.
Indeed, he decided to switch up his pokemon. Once again, the Skiddo came out again. This time, it was to stay. Hopefully. Tanya took a moment to consider her actions. She could put the Skiddo to sleep via two methods. The first was Yawn. It was basically guaranteed to hit, but it was going to take time and her battle was going to be much harder if she had to worry about Leech Seed. On the flip side, she had Hypnosis. It had a tendency to miss, but she could try to make it work. It would prevent him from setting up as well.
"Let's take a chance! Use Hypnosis!" Tanya commanded, knowing last time she played safe, she lost the match. Once again, Daniella looked towards the Skiddo and tried to send out yellow circular rings of psychic suggestion. She knew this was risky, but if it worked, it would pay off in dividends.
