Domenating the Competition [Vs. Tanya]

When the light had settled and she saw that the Houndour was on her last legs, she let out a sad sigh to herself. It was over. She lost. To put up such a comeback and then fall at the last hurdle. It frankly sucked. Yet the fact that she nearly made such a comeback was commendable. That's what she told herself. Daniella let out a loud cry as she yelped and as she got crushed in between the Houndour's jaws, falling to the floor and laying there, unconscious. Smiling softly, Tanya returned Daniella to her pokeball. She put up such a good fight and if it wasn't for the Leech Seed, she would've won. Nonetheless, she was still proud of how she did today as well as the rest of her pokemon. If she commanded them better, it probably could've turned out differently. "Hey you, whoever you are, that was a good match." Tanya called out, crossing her arms and smirking. A look of resolution was in her eyes as she looked directly into the Nature Dorm kid's eyes. "If you think this is the best I've got though, you've got another thing coming. When I battle you next time, I will win."She held out her hand and made a beckoning motion towards him, as if challenging him. While it did suck to lose, it did help break out of the funk she had been in recently. Even if she was selfish for leaving home, she was never going to give up on her dream. She was certain of that now. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WIN!

As Valdis landed along with the Munna, her stub of a tail wagged weakly behind her. She looked over to Crispin, her ears perked slightly as though to ask if that was it. He grinned widely, nodding as he recalled her to her Pokeball. "Ye did grea' Val! Git sum rest, we'll git ye an' te others 'ealed up soon." With all of the Pokemon resting, he smiled over to the other trainer as he walked the distance between them. He was glad she pulled herself out of whatever slump she was in before.
"Me names Crispin. Ah don't doubt tat in te slightest, either, ahd love a rematch someday. Ah 'ope ah didn't offend ye wi' wat ah said earlier, ye jist seemed te be in a down state av mind. Glad te see yeh've cheered up a bit, though. Yer Pokemon did deadly oyt dare, ye shud be proud!" As he introduced himself, he held his hand out to shake. It was an amazing match; it was easy to see the girl had talent, especially since she was preoccupied at the beginning of it.

Tanya shook Crispin's hand vigorously when he approached her, grinning vibrantly at the boy. The battle really did act as a wake-up call for her. She shouldn't give up on her dream, even if she was being selfish. Coming back now would undermine every reason she went out there in the first place.
"Thanks! You're pokemon were challenging as well. I really had to exercise my mind to find a way to find an advantage." Tanya said, sticking out her tongue in a friendly manner. "By the way, the name's Tanya. As you can tell, I'm from Wave Dorm. Wanna hang out sometime?"
She felt spontaneous and it was a way to make up for how she acted at the beginning of the battle. That wasn't pretty for anyone involved.

Returning her handshake with an equally excited one of his own, he took his hand back and smiled. It was quite the change of attitude from how she entered the field, and it made him happy. He was worried that the fight may have made whatever what wrong worse, but was glad to see his initial assumption worked out. "'Tis a pleasure te meet ye, Tanya! As yer can seh, Nature Dorm meself. An ahd be glad te 'ang oyt somewhere less 'ostile sometime. Ah've been spendin' more times wanderin' te grounds than minglin', whaich isn't vury gud." He scratched the back of his neck a little awkwardly as he admitted he hadn't really been spending time with very many people. Normally, he'd be the absolute social butterfly, but with all of the places there were to see on this island he had been a bit distracted.

"I know what you mean, this campus is like so big! On my first few days I even got lost!" Tanya remarked, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head as she continued to talk to Crispen. Sure he had a really strange accent that made it hard to understand what he was saying at times, but at least he wasn't a bad person.
"If you want, we could hang out with a couple of my friends. They're really cool people. In fact, one of them comes from Nature Dorm as well. Her name is Seria." Tanya quickly rattled, looking up as if trying to see into her mind as words came falling out of her mouth. It was times like these that she forgot that she was talking to a person who may not be able to keep up.
"I could also take you to the beach cause the beach is like totally awesome and maybe I could watch you battle them and maybe we could get some food or something or go to that party pier that I've been hearing about then again it does tend to get crowded so maybe not a good idea and heading into town may take up too much time then again we could just sit around and chat if that's ok with you?"

Crispin nodded in agreement, raising an eyebrow as he spoke. "Ah canny even blame ye for gettin' lost. It feels lahk a gran' tin' though, ye nu? Lahk we shouldn't ever run oyt av things te do." As she continued on he blinked slightly, trying to keep up with the deluge of suggestions. As she took a break the first time, he smiled and shrugged. "'Ey, te more te merrier in me buk."
Suddenly the flood of words became almost unstoppable, and he furrowed his brow as he tried to keep track of everything she said. When she finally stopped, he laughed good-naturedly and shook his head. "Whoa dare, take a breath frien'. Dat al' sounds lahk it cud be a blast, but ah don't nu if we cud manage it al' in wan day. Li'le by li'le sounds lahk a plan, though; ahm up for almost anythin'. Gettin' te nu more av te area an' te people we're in school wi' sounds fun." He teased her slightly, raising an eyebrow as he spoke.

Tanya laughed in embarrassment when Crispen told her to breathe. There she went again. Most of the time, she didn't even realize when the words started coming. She was just used to talking very quickly and actively. Her household might have had something to do with that. After all, they were able to keep up with how fast she spoke.
Unfortunately, Tanya was finding it really to understand what Crispen was saying. He had such a thick accent that it made her head spin with just how everything sounded. It was her turn to furrow her brow in concentration as she tried to make sense of the jumble of letters that the boy had just said. After a while, she gave up trying to find a perfect definition of what he was saying and assumed he was saying he wanted to get to know her more.
"Sure! We could totally hang out like right now, if you don't have anything on I mean. Cause I mean if you have plans already than that makes sense and we could hang out later. I mean, I like getting to know people." Tanya told Crispen, giving him an oblivious smile as she tried to hide the fact that she was just guessing at what he was trying to say. It was funny how badly she was at picking up what he was saying. At least, funny to her. She didn't want to accidentally offend the guy.

Crispin widened his eyes for a moment, tilting his head. Today? He supposed he could, although he wanted to rest up his Pokemon at the infirmary first. He didn't like leaving them conked out like that for very long. Afterwords his day was free, so he didn't see any harm in doing something, though he would leave the decision of what up to Tanya. "Sure, we cud do somethin' the-day if yer wud laike. If 'tis awrite witcha, though, ahd laike te 'ayle up me team queck first. Maybe after dat? Wha ye 'av in mind?"
He briefly wondered if there was something lost in translation between her speed talking and his own way of speech. Of course, he never really thought he spoke out of the ordinary, it was how his mom always talked growing up. Obviously most of the people around him were the ones talking strangely!

Once again, Tanya went to try to play interpreter. Tanya didn't want to come off as rude, but she honestly had a lot of trouble properly understanding what Crispen was saying. Maybe that was her being dumb. She didn't really know how to tell him that he was hard to understand though.
Maybe Tanya should stop trying so hard while she was ahead. Yet, she didn't. She must've looked like an idiot trying to talk to a guy when she didn't know what he was saying half the time. Maybe she could chalk it up to her immaturity or her stubbornness. Whatever it was, she didn't give up.
"Hey, I really need to go heal up my pokemon. You can come with me if you want, cause some of your pokemon probably need healing as well." Tanya offered helpfully, giving him a cheesy smile while doing so.

Well, it seemed his previous thought process was correct, judging by the girls offer to let him join her as she healed his Pokemon─the very same thing he just suggested doing. He sighed, smiling weakly as he opened his mouth to try and say something, before just shaking his head and chuckling a bit. Maybe he should wear a dry erase board around her so he could write what he was thinking? Yea, okay, because his handwriting was so legible.
Nodding finally, he tried to speak a little more slowly for her the next time. "Dat sounds awrite wi' me. As soon as me team is in gran' shape again, Oi'll be up for anythin'." He hoped if maybe he spoke carefully, she would be able to get at least the jist of his words. If nothing else, he knew to appreciate her not wanting to offend him.

Tanya noticed that Crispen seemed to speak a little slower. Maybe he realized that she was finding it hard to understand him? That would be a little embarrassing for her. In any case, Tanya didn't think too far into it. At least it made him easier to understand.
"Awesome! That sounds cool to me! Let's go!" Tanya shouted, grabbing onto Crispen's arm and dragging him along with her. He said he didn't mind going with her so he thought he'd be ok with this. After all, it gave them an opportunity to talk as well as Tanya to dictate the speed they were going to go at.
"I think I'll go fast." Tanya said quietly to herself, speeding up her movements until she was running. Crispen could probably keep up. Right?

There, that seemed to do the trick. Crispin nodded triumphantly, glad it seemed he was able to get his point across. Before he could think too far into it, he suddenly felt his arm tugged off in one direction. He stumbled at first, not expecting the other trainer to take him with her quite like that. Once he realized what was happening he walked hastily alongside her, not wanting to get left behind. "So, wat ye 'av in mind after we git our teams 'ealed up?" He continued to try and speak a bit slower for the other, despite the fact he suddenly found himself physically moving faster... and faster... until he was suddenly all out running to keep up. Not that he minded, of course; with how much he walked, if his legs weren't able to keep up there would have been a problem.

"To be honest, I have no idea." Tanya admitted to Crispen as she led him to the infirmary. Due to having to go there so often after battles, Tanya remembered where it was off by heart. While it wasn't necessarily the best reason for her to know where it was, at least she did know where it was in worst case scenarios.
"We'll probably come up with something while they're getting healed, so there's no need to worry about it." Tanya reassured Crispen as they continued to move towards the infirmary. Tanya was laughing lightly as she made her way there. The feeling of relief she had when that weight was off her shoulders was so good, she couldn't help but feel positive and carefree.

Crisping gave a half sort of shrug and nodded. That made sense, it would probably be easier to discuss a plan of action while they were sitting still and waiting. He absently wondered just what he had gotten himself into. Still, considering his new companions frame of mind before their battle compared to now, he couldn't really find himself being all that upset with her. Besides, like he had said earlier─he hadn't associated with any of the other students before today. So what if there was a little bit of crazy before a new friendship? Crazy was a good thing. It added spice to a usually otherwise dull life. He was never one to turn down a bit o'crazy.
