Domenating the Competition [Vs. Tanya]

Almost as soon as the grass Pokemon came out, he was fast asleep on the floor. Crispin ground his teeth. This had the potential to be very bad. As long as the Skiddo could muster through a couple attacks, he should be okay. Even still, it would be a very close call. Sure he would be able to heal a bit once he woke up, but that wouldn't help if the Munna just put him back to sleep right after. All he could hope was that when he woke up he could manage off one attack before all of that happened. Cecillia was able to hold for a bit, so hopefully the Skiddo could too. He felt the dream eater would put a severe damper on this fight, but luck could still work in his favor.
Skiddo is asleep, one turn remaining.

Perfect! Her plan actually worked! Tanya couldn't help but smirk when Daniella managed to make the pokemon fall asleep. She felt like the reins were back in her hands and the waves were parting. There was a possibility that she could weather through the storm. It was times like this when she was glad that she didn't give up.
"Daniella! Use Psychic!" Tanya commanded, her vigor coming back into her voice as the battle shifted in her favor. She couldn't believe Hypnosis actually hit. She doubted she would ever be so lucky again, but she had to take advantage of the opportunity while it presented itself.
Daniella started to glow purple, her eyes shining brilliantly as she focused her attention on the Skiddo. Once again, she lifted the Skiddo high into the air before smashing him back down to earth. With two pokemon asleep, Tanya could come out the victor.

Ah, so she chose not to use Nightmare this time around, and instead aimed for brute force. Still, with Wesley not able to do anything to defend himself he knew the fight was still on a wire. Again this fight his tongue clicked as he mulled over his options, when he remembered something he got with Wesley earlier that week. Although, he didn't plan on using it on Wesley; rather, the sleeping dog in her Pokeball. Reaching into his bag he pulled out a green berry. Holding it to the last Pokeball that held a mostly-combat ready Pokemon, it seemed to absorb inside. Hopefully that would work as intended, and give him one last thing to fall back on.
Used Lum Berry on the sleeping Valdis. Last turn Wesley is asleep; will awaken next turn.

Oh yeah, trainers could use items. She nearly forgot about that. Tanya gulped when she saw the Lum Berry. Oh boy, it looked like things were only going to get harder from here. She didn't know how many turns the pokemon would be asleep, but she might as well deal as much damage as possible.
"Hit the Skiddo with Psychic again!" Tanya commanded, chewing her lip as she could feel the tides shifting again. She was so close to victory. She hoped that things would turn out for her and that she would find a way to win. Right now, it seemed like things were only going to get harder.
Once again, Daniella started to glow purple, tapping into her psychic energies to manipulate the Skiddo. Lifting the pokemon into the air one more time, she threw him hard down onto the floor. Tanya could feel the tension. It was almost suffocating.

Finally, almost painstakingly, the Skiddo slowly opened it's eyes. However, from all of the beatings it received while asleep it was a lot worse for the wear. To make matters worse, it seemed as though the barrage weakened Wesley's defenses. All Crispin could do was count his blessings that he didn't get hit with the Nightmare that poor Cecillia did. He knew the Skiddo wouldn't last much longer, but at least he could help set things up for Valdis. "Wan las' time, Leech Seed!" The Skiddo huffed, weakly pawing at the ground as the grass fluff around his neck shook again, throwing seeds around the arena. Crispin knew Wesley probably wouldn't make it through another hard attack, but this way Val could get some of the Munna's health when she went in.
Skiddo woke up, used Leech Seed; 90% accuracy, drain's 1/8th of the opponent's health per turn if successful. JvmRQhe41-10 If 1-9 hit, 10 miss.1-10

Finally, the Skiddo awoke. Tanya knew that she really needed to make the most of the turns she did have left. She had a feeling that Skiddo would use Leech Seed. After all, the Houndour did get hit by the Bug Buzz, meaning that as it entered the battlefield, it would get slightly healed by the attack. Then again, what if it had another move up its sleeve?
It seemed to use Leech Seed though and Daniella looked worried as she could feel the seeds latch onto her. From there, they started growing larger and larger, entangling themselves around the psychic pokemon as she tried to struggle against it. This time she couldn't switch out though. This was going to be a slog.
"Finish off the Skiddo with Psychic!" Tanya demanded, pointing towards the Skiddo and looking focused. She had gone too far to lose right now. This battle was becoming so close and she could stand a chance to win it. After all, she had a way to deal with Houndour somewhat effectively.
Daniella began to glow purple, her eyes being completely consumed in a purple light as she began lifting the Skiddo high up into the air. Daniella then nodded downwards, causing the pokemon to lurch downwards and get slammed by the attack. Hopefully, that should be the end of the Skiddo.
Action: Used Psychic on Skiddo.

And that was the last that the Skiddo could take. As the poor goat hit the ground, it promptly got conked the heck out. Still, he helped tremendously. "Gran' job Wes! 'Tis al' up ta ye nigh, Val." The Skiddo was recalled, and back on the field was the spunky blue Houndour. This time she was hurt, so her happiness was significantly diminished, but it was easy to see she was still happy to be out. She looked down at the roots at her feet in confusion for a moment before glancing to Crispin.
Nasty Plot wouldn't do much good for the move he needed, and he didn't want to chance taking the time for her to fall asleep again. "Val, use Crunch!" Ignoring the roots that kept themselves wound around her feet since they didn't seem to hamper her movement, the canine leapt towards the Munna, clenching her jaw tightly around the Pokemon. Once she was done she let go, falling back down into the roots as they nourished her with energy from the other enemy. Valdis looked down at them in wonder for a moment, glancing back over to Crispin as if to say "Whoa, did you see that?" Crispin chuckled at the dorky Pokemon, shaking his head. He couldn't lose focus now, though. The battle was getting extremely close.
Valdis used Crunch, 80BP plus STAB plus Super Effective and a 20% chance to lower special defense. If 1-2, special defense lowered one stage; if 3-10, no effect. I9vjj3wN1-10 Leech Seed sapped 1/8th of remaining health and gave it to Valdis.1-10

It was down to the final pokemon. Tanya knew that it was going to be real close. In fact, the victor of this match was probably going to be determined by one move. That thought alone made her feel excited. Sending out his Shiny Houndour, Tanya's eyes were narrow and focused, her eyes on the prize of victory.
The Crunch hurt a lot. Daniella wiggled and waggled in the air as she try to throw off the dog pokemon. Eventually, she managed to do, but she looked worse for wear. She couldn't take another attack like that. She had to get this attack to work. It was the difference between defeat and having a chance for victory.
"Use Hypnosis!" Tanya yelled, shaking with anticipation as she ordered her pokemon to cause the sleep status again. She knew the attack could miss. This was do or die. It wasn't like she had much of a choice in the matter.
Daniella looked towards the Houndour and sent out yellow rings of psychic suggestion. As she did so though, she let out a yelp as she could feel the seeds draining energy from her. That was another thing that was going to be real annoying as time went on. Tanya still had faith though.

As the Munna sent the waves of psychic energy to Valdis, she wavered slightly before curling up into the nourishing roots. Crispin gritted his teeth, tapping a finger on his side. He was out of Lum Berries, but even if he had one the Munna would probably just use Hypnosis again. Besides, as long as the Houndour could hold out until she woke up, the fight would be his. He would just have to keep his fingers crossed and hope. At the very least the roots sapped the dream eater's health, returning the health to the sleeping dog. That alone may change the tide of the fight.
Valdis is asleep for one turn; two turns remaining. Health sapped from Daniella and given to Valdis.

It hit! The attack hit! Tanya found it hard to contain her excitement as she was able to knock out her opponent. Looking at Daniella though, she looked worse for wear. While she could probably just continue attacking and finish the pokemon off, Daniella looked as if she was about to collapse. While she wasn't sure if she could get a victory at the moment, she had to do her best.
"Daniella! Give the Hondour a Nightmare!" Tanya shouted, shaking in anticipation of the battle. There was a small hope. It was small, but at least it was there. If Tanya could just grasp onto that little shred of hope, she could come out with an amazing comeback.
Daniella floated over to the Houdour, her body glowing ominously black once she reached above the sleeping pokemon. Floating around in a circle, she left behind a black trail that formed a circle above the pokemon. From there, the black energy seeped into the Houndour's ears, giving the pokemon a horrible nightmare. With energy being drained from Daniella every turn, she knew that she couldn't keep up the offensive for long.
Action: Daniella used Nightmare, causing 25% damage to Houndour every turn.

Crispin knew this was coming, but he still didn't have to like it. The poor dog twitched in her sleep, feet kicking wildly in the roots around her. Her trainer felt terrible, but he couldn't recall her and end the match now. As long as she could hold out, as long as those roots would keep giving her more health, she should be able to pull through. After all, that was Wesley's last move before he was knocked out was just to help her. As long as it served that purpose and kept her alive long enough to wake up, she still had a chance.
Valdis asleep for two rounds, one round remaining. Leech Seed sapped Daniella's health, returning it to Valdis.

Tanya wanted to stay on the offensive. She wanted the opponent to be on the backfoot and have to struggle, but it didn't seem like things would turn out that way for her. Daniella was struggling to stay in the air. She had to heal her this turn.
"Daniella! Use Moonlight!" Tanya commanded, biting her lip as she worried about whether or not she was able to win. Even if she used Moonlight consecutively, the Leech Seed would probably put her in a range where another Crunch could take her out. The only reason she was using it now was to keep her alive through the Leech Seed drain.
Daniella began glowing white, conjuring up an image of the moon over the battlefield. Bathing herself in the pearly white light, Daniella started to heal up her wounds. While not all of them could be healed, a decent amount was able to be healed by the move, enough to keep her alive for a few more turns. Once again, the roots did their damage and Tanya grew increasingly agitated with the move. God that move was annoying to deal with.
Action: Daniella used Moonlight. Healed 50% health.

As the nightmare did it's damage and the Leech Seed healed back what it could from it, Crispin began to grow worried. The fight was painfully close, and all he could do was hope that Valdis would wake up soon. She couldn't take very many more rounds of that bad dream, even with the Leech Seed returning part of the damage done. "Com on Val, Wake up..." The houndour continued to twitch in her sleep, making sad grumbling sounds as the nightmares plagued her. To add insult to injury the Munna took the chance it had to heal itself, although Crispin was grateful it didn't do so all the way.
Valdis is asleep for the last turn; will awaken on the next. Leech seed continues to sap health from Daniella and return it to Valdis.

That Leech Seed was proving to be seriously annoying. It narrowed down her possible strategies of victory and it had to make her focus on only one. One that made Tanya worry. Would it be enough to finish off the Houndour? This match was so close and so intense, it made Tanya stand on the tips of her toes in anticipation. Even if she didn't win, Daniella was proving her worth so much in this match. She couldn't help but be proud.
"Here we go. This is all or nothing Daniella! Dazzling Gleam!" Tanya yelled, jumping into the air as she conveyed her orders to her Munna. She looked incredibly nervous and sweat was running down her face. This was it. The moment that would decide the fate of the battle.
Daniella, heading her owner's demands, started to shine brighter and brighter, generating a brilliant white light that caused her body to shine in the sunlight. Eventually, she let forth a cry and shot out the light, causing a gigantic flash all around the arena, causing Tanya to have to shield and cover her eyes. One question remained on her mind. Would it be enough?
Action: Daniella used Dazzling Gleam.

Crispin didn't even notice he was holding his breath as the Munna started to glow. He had forgotten about the possibility that the other Pokemon may know moves that weren't psychic, which could be a mistake that cost him the match. He found that while he was worried and panicked, he wasn't upset at the possibility of losing. This was his first trainer match after all, and all of his team proved themselves able. As long as he could help Wesley overcome his Phobia, he would be set.
Finally, the Munna released the energy, blasting the poor nightmare wracked dog. As it cleared, the blue canine stood warily, on her last legs she only had thanks to Wesley and his Leech Seed. If it wasn't for that restoring a decent amount of the health she had lost, Crispin knew that Dazzling Gleam would have ended her. He grinned, finally releasing the breath he had been holding. She was okay. Still, the fight wasn't over, and he knew she wouldn't be able to take anything more. It was now or never. "Thatta gal! 'Owl yer groun', an' Crunch!" Pushing off weakly, she leapt at the Munna, closing her jaw around the dream eater. Crispin knew Leech Seed giving her more health was useless at this point. It had served it's purpose, and it was now just up to the Houndour.
Valdis used Crunch, 80bp with STAB and Super Effective; has 20% to lower Sp. Def. dSLIf0Qa1-10 If 1-2, lowers Sp. Def1-10
