Lastman Dancing [Battle vs. Tanya Christianson]

Seria took Zenith and G.S.D out for a play around in the arena as she was waiting for someone to have a practice battle with. She had heard things about the tournament and wanted to see if she could squeeze in some last minute training before she signed up. After all, she wanted to make a statement about things. She felt useless before, but she needed to try something to shake things up. She stood in the battle dome and watched Zenith start riding on G.S.D as if he were a steed, but the Slowpoke was content with just lying about and being a couch for the Tyrogue instead. Zenith was not amused, but instead decided just to stretch his legs out as if warming up for something. Seria smiled at the sight of her Pokemon.

"I wonder who will my opponent be now..."

Tanya wanted to get ready for the tournament. While she had outfitted her team for the upcoming tournament, she thought it would be fun to include some of the pokemon she wasn't going to use in the tournament. It was for that reason that Tanya entered the battle dome with Christina on her left shoulder, who looked keen to show off her skills on the battlefield. Meanwhile, flying closely behind, Derrick looked unafraid of what problems he could face in the battlefield, perching on Tanya's other shoulder when she stopped moving.

"Oh, you're going to be my opponent Seria?" Tanya stated in surprise, just noticing that her opponent as going to be her close friend. She hadn't seen her new pokemon in detail for some time. She probably had evolved them all and Tanya only had a quick glimpse of them during the Marvo City attack. Grinning excitedly, Tanya got out one of her pokeballs.

"Let's have a good match. Let's go Daniel!" Tanya said, throwing her pokeball high up into the air. As the pokeball soared, Christina and Derrick jumped off her shoulder and stood either side of her, intrigued to see how the battle would progress. She thought it'd be a good experience for her pokemon to see how some of the more experienced pokemon battled.

When the pokeball opened, Daniel appeared in the air. He proceeded to flip to the floor, his movements careful with each turn that he did in the air. Once he landed cleanly on his feet, he looked up towards Seria and gave a challenging look, moving into his battle position. "I'll let you make the first move. I'm not going to go easy on you!"

Seria nodded as she saw Tanya walk into the arena and looked vaguely surprised that she was here to wait for a battle. The Nature dormer nodded as G.S.D and Zenith stopped playing about and saw Tanya's Pokemon appear, and soon she sent out the Lopunny. Seria nodded in acknowledgement and slowly whispered something to her Pokemon, who nodded attentively, even G.S.D, who looked dopey as ever. It should seem apparent to Tanya that the Slowpoke was much stronger than he appeared to be. "OK, here we go! Go, Aquaelie!" Seria called out for her Azumarill to appear, he had bulked up a lot it seemed, and as he saw the bunny Pokemon, he smiled and pet his large belly. He seemed more interested in having some fun than actually fighting.

"Okay, Aquaelie! Show him how it's done! Open out with Superpower!" Seria called out and soon the big aquamouse Pokemon did a sort of kiai roar and rushed towards the bunny Pokemon, grabbing the rabbit and jumping into the air, taking the Lopunny with him, before performing some sort of wrestling move, crashing the both of them into the ground. Though the Azumarill was left standing. It looked like the move came from television or some video game.

Seeing Seria send out her Azumarill, Tanya knew that Daniel was going to be in a world of hurt. She did believe that Daniel would be able to persevere though. Lopunny were surprisingly bulky pokemon after all. Therefore, she watched as the Lopunny got smashed by the attack, flying high into the air. While he was up there though, he managed to regain his position and twisted in the air until he landed on his feet. When he landed though, she staggered a bit, indicating his injury.

"Buy yourself some time with Fake Out!" Tanya commanded, not looking too worried about how the events were playing out. Superpower should lower her opponent's attack as well as defense. She needed to take advantage of this. Once Daniel was ready, he jumped towards the Azumarill then smashed his hands together on the Azumarill's cheeks. The flinch should allow for some basic damage and a chance for her to use a move uninterrupted. Tanya had plans. After all, Daniel was one of her go-to starters due to his sheer variability. She'll make it into a positive.

Action: Daniel used Fake Out! No rolls necessary.

[Seria Floria]

Seria scratched her head as she learned that Lopunny were physically stronger than they seemed. The damage was significant but there was still a lot of work to be done. She sighed and saw the bunny smash his hands together on the Azumarill's cheeks, which would end up dazing him and unable to act. Shrugging, Seria casually recalled Aquaelie into his Pokeball. "Gee whiz," Seria sighed. "Your turn now, Carrie." she threw another Pokeball out and watched as the Cincinno appeared into the battle. Zenith and G.S.D were watching patiently in the meanwhile. Seria would save those two later. For now, she had to get rid of this Lopunny.

He was probably going to be a huge nuisance within the next five minutes.

Seria had a battle plan. Unfortunately, her plan wouldn't come into fruition until she trained both of her Pokemon on the side. Oh well.

Switched out Azumarill in exchange for Cincinno.

Tanya was a bit dissapointed when she switched out her Azumarill for her Cincinno. She wanted to do a whole bunch of fun stuff to give her back the advantage, but she'd have to change up her tactics. Knowing what her Cincinno may have, Tanya realized that the ability was what gave her pokemon power. She'd have to deal with that.

"Daniel! Use Entrainment!" Tanya commanded, smirking at Seria. On the order, Daniel started to dance on the battlefield. It was a weird little dance that had an oddly compelling rhythm, as if trying to get the opponent to dance along as well. Once the dance was over though, the Cincinno's ability would change to the ability that Daniel had, which was Klutz. While it wouldn't completely stunt the offensive power, it would put a meaningful dent into it.

Action: Daniel used Entrainment! Cincinno's ability is changed from Skill Link to Klutz.

Seria groaned as Tanya called for her Lopunny to use 'Entrainment,' an annoying move that changed the target's Ability to that of the user's. Carrie was copying the movements of the bunny and it seemed that she was absorbing the bunny's own mentality and the like. And while Seria knew what Tanya was trying to do, Seria was confident that it wouldn't really hurt her own chances of damaging the Lopunny. "I see, so that's what you're trying to do," Seria sighed, tapping her feet on the ground. "Carrie, don't mind that dancing... Just use your Aqua Tail on him!" Seria commanded as the rodent slapped her tail on the ground repeatedly before rushing towards the bunny, releasing water-charged energy at the same time, splashing with aquatic pressure and force against the bunny's face.

It seemed that Daniel's shenanigans were really starting to get to Seria. She was glad that Daniel was doing his job, making life as miserable for the opponent as possible. However, the Cincinno still had an attack that didn't rely on Skill Link. If she kept Daniel in, there was no doubt that he would faint.

"Come back Daniel." Tanya ordered, returning Daniel to his pokeball. As she did so, Tanya got out another pokeball. "Take the attack Daniella!" Tanya shouted, opening her pokeball to reveal the Musharna. Drifting lazily in the air, she was surprised to be suddenly hit by a tail of water. However, the attack barely scratched the pokemon and she looked more annoyed than anything else.

Action: Daniel has switched with Daniella!

Seria scoffed as she saw how Tanya responded to the attack by switching out her Lopunny for a Musharna. Seria silently looked at the Pokemon that didn't really feel any sort of pain from that attack. Seria soon grinned. "You done good, Carrie. Come back!" Seria called back Carrie and soon threw out another Pokeball. "Come forth, Severa!" she yelled out and soon sent out her Liepard, she would counter annoying tactics with annoying tactics of her own. She knew Tanya was annoyed by Severa when she was still a Purrloin. Now that she was a Liepard, she had a bit more bulk to her. Zenith and G.S.D were blinking and watching on the sidelines, trying to make sense of all this switcheroo.

It seemed that the switching game was afoot. Tanya chuckled to herself at how odd the situation must look. Barely any action had taken place and here they were, switching pokemon about willy-nilly. However, the switching wasn't going to last for too long. She thought for a moment about switching back into Daniel, but there was a chance that Seria was not going to go for her usual tactics with Liepard. If she was going to use status moves, she probably was going to have to respond in kind. Now, to take a gamble or not?

If Seria had her way, she was probably going to get off status effect after status effect. She could go with the reliable yawn, but that just gave her opportunities to tip the scales in her favor. Alternatively, she could try going for hypnosis, but that could miss. As tempting as it was for her to have a guaranteed chance of getting a status effect off, Tanya thought she could take the risk.

"Try putting the Liepard to sleep with Hypnosis!" Tanya commanded, gritting her teeth and looking on the battle with an eager tension. On her order, Daniella looked towards the Liepard and tried shooting yellow rings of psychic suggestion at her. If they hit, Tanya had a good chance of turning the battle in her favor. If they didn't, Tanya would just have to adjust.

Action: Daniella used Hypnosis!

Seria watched as the Musharna floated in place, and soon the Psychic Pokemon was commanded to try and put Severa to sleep with a Hypnosis attack. Seria quietly nodded in acknowledgement as the Liepard was able to avoid the yellow rings of hypnotic doom with her fast and fluid movements, and the Liepard seemed content with spitting on the ground. "Now, Severa, use your Toxic attack!" Seria commanded as the Liepard hissed as if in agreement with the order, hacking up hairballs, spitting them at the ground and soon leaping onto the Musharna, drooling some icky saliva all over her. It looked pretty gruesome to watch, but Severa looked like she was having a lot of fun with it.

Prankster activated! Toxic hits! Daniella is now Badly Poisoned!

Well that could have gone much more badly. Even though the attack didn't hit, she was glad to find out that she only used Toxic against her Musharna. She could deal with that pretty easily. At least it wasn't confusion. Confusion would've really messed up her battle strategy. Her smirk didn't disappear as Tanya aimed to make the most out of the situation that she was in.

"Try again with Hypnosis Daniella!" Tanya commanded, clenching her fists in nervous anticipation. Though it was being hurt by the poison, Daniella looked at the Liepard once again, sending out yellow circles of psychic suggestion towards the pokemon. Hopefully this time it would hit. If it didn't, Tanya would be less than amused.

Action: Daniella used Hypnosis again! 1/16th health lost due to poison!

Seria wondered if it might have been better to open with Swagger, but she wanted the reliable damage first. Tanya commanded her Musharna to use Hypnosis again and this time the attack connected as the Liepard couldn't stop herself from dodging the sleepy waves and soon ended up yawning and curling up on the ground, fast asleep. Seria scratched her head and shrugged, she knew what was coming up next. "You know, I can tell what you're going to do next. Eat her dreams? Give her nightmares?" Seria sighed as she tapped her feet on the ground under a veneer of confidence. There wasn't a lot she could do now but hope that Severa could handle the attack that would come out from this Musharna, but as long as Tanya kept her in, the Toxic's poison would get worse and worse.

Liepard is asleep for this turn...

Tanya took some time to consider what her next plan of action was going to be. Knowing her luck, she doubted that the Liepard was going to be asleep for long. That, alongside the issue of the Toxic meant that she was going to have to make the most out of the turn. While it was a tempting idea to switch into Daniel, she reckoned that the Liepard had the ability to knock him out with any offensive move.

"While tempting, I'll pass on those ideas. Daniella! Attack with Dazzling Gleam!" Tanya ordered, grinning subtly at Seria during her order. While trying to deal with the increasing intensity of the poison, Daniella started to shimmer. The light started to get more and more intense until the Musharna cried out and unleashed a brilliant flash aimed at the sleeping Liepard. While it was tempting to eat her dreams, the dark typing would make the attack null. Once the attack was over, Daniella began to look increasingly unhappy about the poison, flinching slightly as it ticked damage.

Action: Daniella used Dazzling Gleam! Daniella took 1/8th health of Poison damage.

[Seria Floria]

The sleeping Liepard was immediately assaulted by a series of brilliant flashing and lights, the force enough to wake up the Pokemon who shook herself off and look quite weakened. Another attack would probably knock the Liepard out, cleanly so. But now that she was awake, Seria knew she had only one more thing to do before croaking. "You've still got some energy left in you. Use Swagger!" Seria called out as the weakened Liepard hissed again and started a swagger towards the Musharna, attempting to enrage her with swaying and lots of teasing and mocking movements, as if trying to pester her and say "you failed to beat me even while I was asleep!"
