Lastman Dancing [Battle vs. Tanya Christianson]

Seria smiled despite what was coming next. The Megahorn did end up connecting after all, but she knew that this was just the precursor to a revenge-kill maneuver. Tanya sent out a Rufflet, which was a spunky-looking Eagle Pokemon. The bird then soared into the air, going higher and higher, before rushing down at Antenora at a furious speed, flaming energy materialized from the acceleration and force, which slammed straight into Antenora. Seria still smiled too. Antenora would have had a slight chance to survive the attack if she was not wrapped by the Serperior. However, the damage from the wrap was enough to seal her fate. Seria calmly returned her fallen Sawsbuck and tapped her feet on the ground. Then, she threw out the Pokeball and sent out Aquaelie.

"Aquaelie, use Rollout." Seria said calmly as the Azumarill grinned and started curling up into a ball and rolling at high speed towards the Rufflet.

Tanya pumped her fist as the attack by Derrick knocked out the Sawsbuck. Derrick looked happily at Tanya, proud that he was able to defeat such an opponent. While his back was turned towards the opponent, Seria had already sent out her next pokemon, knocked backwards into the floor by the attack. Pushing himself up, Derrick turned to frown at the Azumarill, daggers forming in his eyes at the insolence of the Aqua Mouse pokemon.

"Do as much damage as you can with Thrash!" Tanya ordered, knowing that swapping him out for someone else would be pointless at the moment. On her order, Derrick flew into action. Flying towards the Azumarill, Derrick began repeatedly pummeling her with his talons and wings, going on a rampage and flailing about crazily with his weapons. Tanya looked on at the battle, hoping the momentum would stay with her.

Action: Derrick used Thrash!

Seria normalized her appearance and watched the Rufflet charge towards Aquaelie, assaulting him and pelting him with talons and wings, trying to thrash about and generally be a nuisance. Seria's arms were crossed as Aquaelie waved about and looked definitely somewhat beaten up by that Thrash. Rollout continued; Azumarill went into the form of a ball again, and soon charged towards the Rufflet once more. One or two more attacks would most likely take down the Azumarill depending on what the Rufflet did. Rocks began to fly out as Aquaelie rolled out and attempted to directly slam into the bird once again, the intensity of the rollout increasing with subsequent rounds of the battle.

The Rollout hit again, and this time, Derrick couldn't take the attack. Flung into the air, Derrick promptly crashed into the ground, losing all his energy and consequently fainting. "You did good Derrick." Tanya reassured, getting out his pokeball and returning him to it. Tanya looked up and smiled excitedly at Seria, a fire blazing in her eyes.

"This is a really intense battle. I hope you're having as good a time as I am!" Tanya called out, reaching for a new pokeball and revealing her final pokemon to her opponent, her Dragalge Dani. Looking towards Dani, she gave a qucik nod before turning back to Seria and barking out her next order. "Dani! Use Sludge Bomb on the Azumarill!"

Accumulating a big ball of toxic sludge, Dani proceeded to shoot it at the Azumarill, inflicting as much damage as she could by exploiting the Water/Fairy type's weakness. The battle was so close that it could really go either way. Just knowing that Seria was bringing her such an awesome match made her bristle with pride as it took all her energy not to jump about crazily.

Action: Derrick Fainted! Dani sent out and used Sludge Bomb!

Seria heaved a sigh of relief as the Rollout attack knocked out the Rufflet. However. Tanya sent out a giant sea-dragon-like Pokemon, it was Dragalge, the PokeDex informed Seria of it as such, it must have been the evolution of Skrelp. Soon, it was pretty obvious what was to come. The Dragalge generated some sick sludge and launched it at Aquaelie, who flinched and started looking pretty ill. He fell over and promptly fainted, running out of energy and trying desperately to get up again but finding himself unable to. Seria nodded and recalled the Azumarill to his Pokeball. Without any prompting, Zenith the Tyrogue launched into the fray. "Oi, oi... You want to take on that thing?" Seria stared at Zenith who nodded furiously. Carrie was the only Pokemon left she had aside from Zenith, so she had to make this count.

"Very well. Then, Zenith, use the Fake Out on the Dragalge!" Seria pointed forward and the Tyrogue leaped at the Dragalge, slamming into it and faking it out with quick aggressive movements.

On being able to take out the powerful Azumarill, Tanya pumped her fist in excitement. That was one of the main threats against her team dealt with. With how the battle was going, Tanya realized that there was the possibility of her winning. It felt like the battle was shifting in her favor and she was glad that she didn't adopt the mentality of giving up, even though Seria had proven to be a very capable opponent.

On seeing the Tyrogue come in, she crossed her arms. She had to admire the pokemon's spunk for fighting against her starter pokemon. On using Fake Out however, Dani flinched, the attack causing her to shiver and preventing her from taking an action. While the attack did hit, Dani barely took any damage, if at all. Still, it was nice to see her pokemon give an effort.

"That's a pretty spunky pokemon you got there Seria. I think he'll go far." Tanya complemented, smiling proudly at Seria as the battle progressed.

Action: Dani didn't do anything due to Flinching!

The Tyrogue, of his own volition, slid back to Seria's side and didn't really seem worried by the fact he would probably get wiped by this next attack. Seria silently and solemnly nodded. "Zenith, no choice but to Tackle..." Seria said, a bit embarrassed, but the Tyrogue charged forth and he attempted to bumrush the Dragalge, and Seria knew deep inside that it wouldn't really do anything at all. But something is still better than nothing, and Seria originally brought Zenith and G.S.D here after all for training. The tackling was real, but the damage probably wasn't. Seria had to think fast on the next choice of action. She'd send out Carrie and attempt to deal with this Dragalge somehow.

Dani was able to comfortably take the attack, barely even registering that the Tyrogue was trying to inflict damage on him. Tanya couldn't help but make the comparison of David taking on Goliath, except that this time, David couldn't really do anything to hurt Goliath. It was a shame though, considering that the Tyrogue was trying his best for his trainer. Unfortunately, there was only so much he could do.

"Dani, Sludge Bomb." Tanya stated matter-of-factly, seeing no need to hold back on Seria. She didn't want to taunt her by using a weaker move. She had respect for her opponent and thus, saw no need to go easy on her. Gathering up a sphere of toxic sludge again, Dani looked at the Tyrogue and shot the sludge at him, making sure she didn't miss her target. After this, all Seria had left was her Cincinno, which Tanya should hopefully be able to deal with, knowing that she had two pokemon left in her reserves.

Action: Dani used Sludge Bomb!

Seria shrugged as the Tyrogue ended up getting splat on with a giant bomb of sludge. By the time the venom and poison cleared, Zenith was already an unconscious wreck on the floor. She wordlessly recalled him and soon sent out Carrie again. The Cincinno appeared and looked calmly at the Dragalge. "Carrie, use Tail Slap." Seria said calmly and soon the Cincinno gently tampered the ground with her tail before charging up to the Dragalge and slapping the poisonous thing five times with her tail. Or tried to do so anyway. There could be a chance Carrie could miss. And if she did miss, Seria has already probably lost.

Seria seemed to be oddly calm. Tanya really had to admire her ability to keep her cool on the battlefield, even though she was onto her last pokemon. While she had a good chance of winning this battle, Tanya knew that it was far from over. Indeed, since Cinccino had Skill Link, she was able to use moves in order to gain 5 hits all the time. Knowing that a world of pain was coming in, Tanya clenched her fists and hoped that Dani would be able to take the hits.

While she was repeatedly battered left and right by the Tail Slaps, Dani was still able to hold her ground, slouching a little due to the pain that she was feeling. Tanya recognized that with every hit of Tail Slap, there was an increased chance of Poison Point going off. In fact, she guessed that it was a given that she would get poisoned by the attack. "Dani, attack with Sludge Bomb!" Tanya ordered, knowing that it was going to come down to the last pokemon.

Gathering up a ball of toxic sludge, Dani shot it at the Cinccino, trying her best to stay upright. This battle was reaching its conclusion and Tanya could be any more excited as she started to jump up and down slightly as the attack flew.

Carrie returned to Seria's side of the battlefield, looking a little sick. Oh, it's Poison Point. Seria sighed as she realized the Cincinno was poisoned. And to make things worse, the Dragalge still stood. However, Carrie had enough energy in her to last one more attack, even between the vile Sludge Bomb that was dropped on her face and the tick of the poison damage. Seria had an awkward expression on her face as she stroked her chin furtively. She knew she had pretty much lost this again. "Well, there's not much left to do but to finish this. Carrie, use Tail Slap again!" Seria called out as the Cincinno, mustered her remaining energy and charged at the Dragalge, attempting to slap her down with furious tail swipes once again.

Though, this would pretty much be Seria's last hurrah.

Tanya had expected Dani to go down. Therefore, she was pleasantly surprised to see that Dani was able to swish between the tail attacks, dodging the attack and leaving her to be very much alive. She did feel good, but at the same time she had to lament Seria's luck. She quickly shot her an apologetic look before nodding at Dani.

"It's time we finished this off. Sludge Bomb!" Tanya called out triumphantly. Dani, gathering up a ball of toxic sludge, tossed it at her opponent, drenching the Cinccino in the poison. The damage from the attack accumulated with the poison that had been ticking up should eventually lead to a victory for her. Even if the attack did miss though, she still had Daniella.

Action: Dani used Sludge Bomb!

Seria's smile awkwardly contorted as Carrie's Tail Slap was dodged by the Dragalge, well, you can't win them all, it seemed. She was taking deep breaths to calm herself but after the Dragalge's second Sludge Bomb attack which took down Carrie easily after that residual Poison damage, Seria couldn't really do much but to simply recall Carrie and call it a day. "Well, I lost again to you. I still have to keep trying hard. Well, I'll do my best in the tournament. Thanks for dropping by to battle. Maybe next time we face off I'll beat you, you know?" Seria said, awkwardly smirking and trying to seem chirpy and happy despite losing. Though of course, she was still having thoughts of the invasion in the back of her mind, how her pyrrhic victory made her seem more useless once all was said and done.

"Great job Dani!" Tanya cheered, smiling happily at her pokemon before returning her to her pokeball. Her team really did pull through in the end. Though she did feel like she could've used Christina better, everyone else did marvelously on the battlefield and she couldn't be more proud of them. Beaming widely, she ran towards Seria, just in time to hear her talk to her.

"Don't be like that. You were a really good opponent. I really had to think outside of the box for that battle." Tanya complemented, rubbing the back of her neck while smiling sheepishly. When Tanya took a closer look at Seria though, she noticed that her smile wasn't the usual one she was used to seeing.

"Yeah, maybe you will." Tanya stated awkwardly, pausing for a moment before starting to talk again, sounding a little concerned. "You ok Seria? I mean, if you're worried about your skills, you put up a really good fight today and I think if you keep this up, you'll do well in the tournament." She waited for Seria's response, her desire to help kicking in once again.

"It's nothing important," Seria said, continuing to smile at Tanya. "I'm just feeling a bit disillusioned, that's all. I've been battling people, battling things... I'm just kind of lost right now, you know? I've been focusing on battling because nowadays battling is one of the only things people will take others seriously on; it's a basis for respect, or so I've been told." Seria continued, shrugging.

"I don't know if you remembered, but I had a pretty hard time during that battle at the city. I felt really useless. I don't want to feel like that. It sucks."
